  1. Ah never really took the sternum/hip strap into consideration. good call!
  2. Ross's Never Gymless. Just watch the guys youtube videos for some motivation. Also gives a 50day program in the back of the book for those who don't want to put their own together. Very challenging though!
  3. Definitely looks interesting. It does set me up for consecutive days of similar exercises though which would need to be modified but I might look into it a bit closer. Progression could be a problem.
  4. Haha I'm not sure if there are any healthy powder formed "mass gainers" but you could check out ON Pro Complex All Natural. It's a step in the right direction and 290 calories of vitamins/protein in 2 scoops. I have never taken it actually so I can't comment on its taste or effectiveness but it could be a start. I usually do a bunch of peanut butter, banana, and some whey for my shake when looking to increase calories.
  5. I was about to buy a 18 flash pack from REI but then found the rei stuff travel pack and now I dont know which one to get! Going to be using it primarily as a daypack around South East Asia. Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with the stuff travel pack as well as the flash pack. http://www.rei.com/product/809163/rei-stuff-travel-pack
  6. Although a sit on top may seem best for beginners I'd urge you to look into stable (wider) sit in boats. As you progress you'll be disgusted you ever bought a sit on top haha, I am! There are tons of sit in kayaks that are ridiculously hard to swamp/tip. Also once you take 2, 3, maybe 4 trips on your kayak you'll know exactly where that secondary stabilization gives out and how far you can actually lean. Sit in's are the way to go for a future in kayaking. Just dont buy a spray skirt at first and I'd suggest taking a class before attempting any rolls or even wet exits as you progress. I'm riding an old creek boat right now right now for ocean surfing actually and although it's not actually made for those conditions after learning how the boat moves and leans I can certainly make it go wherever I want without much difficulty. Got my eye on a P&H's Delphin 155 though! Lastly I'd hold off on buying a very expensive paddle. Ive gone through like 4 in the past year trying to find the one I like and I plan on switching to a Greenland paddle this summer for a little. Everything else is basic though: pump, vest, paddle float(necessary if going solo), etc. Just my two cents from my experiences (have lived on an island for 22 years) Happy to answer any other questions for you!
  7. Moved to The Pub (Off Topic) My bad! http://nerdfitnessrebellion.com/index.php?/topic/23159-staying-fit-and-healthy-on-the-road/#entry380735
  8. That's awesome Iwow! Congrats on the new job! Definitely trying to get more content on there, just started it last week. Also partnering up with a friend of mine who works at an alternative health doctors office at the moment and she will be writing more on diet in the coming weeks.
  9. Hey everyone! Been a long time reader of NerdFitness along with a bunch of other blogs and websites of the same nature. I decided to start my own little blog in hopes to combine all my research of diet and exercise with the lifestyle of a nomad or constant traveler. No reason you shouldn't be able to stay completely healthy and fit while traveling the world! In upcoming posts I'll talk about Paleolithic diets vs Blood type diets like Dr. D'Adamo's and why I am not too fond of the Candida diet. Anyway check it out, let me know what you think!
