  1. So after I was so incredibly lazy with my exercise and changing my habits I finally want to get sht done and participate in my first ever 6-week challenge. My goals are: 1. Cut out soda, completely 2. Quit smoking 2.1 If quitting smoking is too much at once for my capabilities then limit it to 4 cigs/day 3. Do the Beginner´s Body Weight Circuit for at least 2 times within 15 minutes and go on a walk for at least 10 minutes/day. I just registered myself with that sheet and I´m not sure if I´m going to be accepted for this challenge now, that it just started but I will just do it nevertheless. Have a nice day over there !
  2. Dear fellow rebels ! I kind of want to reintroduce myself to all of you since I already did it (http://nerdfitnessrebellion.com/index.php?/topic/23780-whoa-my-first-encounter-with-the-force/) but while I was about to write many exams in short time I got used to f*ck up my physical state and (what´s even worse) stopped to get any progression done in terms of leveling up my life. Also I didn´t visit the board for about 3-4 weeks or so, what means I as well missed my first real challenge .... "again" .... But here I am, starting everything again. This time with even smaller steps than before so I won´t ever fucking quit again and become the person I always wanted to be job-wise, fitness and looking-wise and, the most important, mind-wise. Thank you for accepting my error, I just had to restart the system and go full berserk mode from now on ! Have an awesome day, Hannes ! PS: Although I let loose everything possible while writing the last exams of my studies before going to Belgium for the Bachelor-Thesis and stuff I managed to pass through every exam with A´s and B´s (that´s 1,0 - 2,3 at German universities). ... HELL YEAH, POLYMERS ! [maybe if someone else but my parents would be interested]
  3. Walk and/or Run: all that chasing and fleeing that both Romans and Gauls are doing covers a lot of distance. You need to run and/or walk. Any distance counts: from your daily activities, from exercising... it all counts. Burpees and/or Sun Salutations: with all those spears and stinky fish flying around both Romans and Gauls need to do a lot of dodging. You need to do burpees and/or Sun Salutations. Modifications for beginners are allowed! Meditate: Both Romans and Gauls are spending a lot of time hiding or waiting in ambush. They often fall into a kind of meditative state. Last week I was walking around and enjoying the world as it is 3 hours I think for about 10 km because I had spare time since I´m within my exam period Also I did about 3 Sun Salutations per day .. it´s a bit less than expected because my body is so incredibly stiff. But i´m still proud of it ! Last thing: for 3 days i meditated quite and still for 20min each before exams. It´s just amazing how I was able to calm down and focus Thanks so much for giving this little challenge. I will definitely apply all those little things in my daily activities because they just calmed me down and got me so focused that I was surprised how amazing it was. I can btw write this just now because I had no internet for 2 days
  4. awesome day today ! 100% Paleo and fully relaxed due to exercise :D

  5. Sounds so awesome mate ! I´ll hope you stick with your goals ! If not or if you´ve got to talk you might just write a msg to me Have an awesome day !
  6. I guess we´re running away hahaha
  7. oh noes ! no electricity :/

  8. it´s just meh ... either I watch the SUPER BOWL or I go sleep because it´s 00:48 and I´ve got an exam today :D

  9. Greetings dear druids ! As an adventurer I´m very excited to join you and try out new movements ! (the Sun Salutation looks very interesting !) Have an awesome day !
  10. Thank you so much Well I don´t exactly when I´m going, but I guess coming for a Masters Thesis would like in summer (maybe April to September or further)
  11. Ah what I forgot is like you should (or not should but it could be helpful ^^) also read some articles from the BLOG (the ones Mr. Steve sends you with the e-mail(s) and also some others). You might just browse around and look for titles that sound interesting to you (that´s what I did). Especially the Zelda and Optimus Prime articles are nice (to me). And ye if you can´t do push ups or squats or whatever then just .... TRY to do them. And if it doesn´t work yet, I could imagine using some "tools" to support you. Not things to buy but ... for example for push ups: If you can´t get them done on the floor (and on your feet) then you might just put your knees on the ground so you have like less weight to push up ^^. And if that doesn´t work (and that´s what I do right now) you might maybe try to put your hands on a chair instead of the floor. (That might sound gruesome to anybody being in a "normal" physical state but it´s challenging for anyone that is just too big to get push ups done on the floor as well) So your body has like ~45° to the floor (I mean that´s just a number, any angle is ok as long as you feel it being ok). You have to just take care. that your chair (or w/e you use) stands stable and doesn´t slip away when you exercise
  12. I´d like to welcome you ! Well I´m kinda like you: I game a lot, did rarely get up (most likely to go to the university//fridge ~~) and so on. AND I´m also new here So.. level 1 involves just you, your mental and health state and the fact that you just decided to change things and get your sht done ! Leveling up (when you decided to chose a profession and so on) means you participate in 6-week CHALLENGES and master them. But in general it´s setting goals (maybe not too many at a time ... I know that ... wanting too much at the same time made me quit anything so often ) and achieving them. Maybe it´s just beginning with doing walks (like 10 minutes or so .. I don´t mean jogging) or go jogging or start with the beginners body weight circuit (that´s what I started with today ^.^) or w/e you consider being OK to get started. The great thing at this msg board is that everyone tries just to help you and it´s quite supportive though everyone has his or her own package. Maybe you want to start with creating your goals (and of course reach them one by one ) in the "Your Epic Quest"-forum so you know that like everyone gets to know what your plan is and what you want to achieve so you won´t just quit improving and transforming by just saying things like "O.K. there´s no one anyway that cares for me or knows what I´m trying so I can quit it anyway and no one will notice". That´s just not possible anymore Whoa ... ok as you see I talk a lot when I have the opportunity to ... so again: WELCOME ! And have an awesome time here !
  13. Hello everyone ! nice group Have an awesome day !
  14. ....BUT I SHALL SUCCEED ! So after reading articles and roaming the forums like forever I decided to take the step and annoy EVERYONE with all my goals so I won´t ever excuse with "ah there ain´t anyone anyway that will notice my success so I don´t just need to begin anyway ...." So here´s what right now is on my mind and I promise I will always update it with new goals .... because the ones that I can think of right now won´t probably get me further than level 20 I´m starting at about 160kg and my fitness level is like below zero ! The Basics: (the Basics are to lose weight and build up self confidence) - Get the Beginners Body Weight Circuit done properly (at least 2 times) - Furthermore: Get the Beginners Body Weight Circuit done properly (at least 3 times) - After that: Get the Beginners Body Weight Circuit done properly (at least 3 times AND add 1.5x the amount of repetitions each exercise) - Jog or run 5 minutes at a time - Jog or run 10 minutes at a time - Jog or run 20 minutes at a time - With all that: Get the first little Parcours-session done (Running and climbing basic obstacles like benches/walls that aren´t bigger than me and so on ^^) - Same as the one above but taking more time for it and try to overrun (a bit) more difficult obstacles - Get used to Paleo-diet and apply it to all aspects of life (even if it becomes hard when I´m like not in Germany) - apply daily exercise to my life (even if it´s like only jogging for 5 minutes or so ... I WANT TO GET USED TO IT !!!!) - reach 140kg - Manage to get used to talk to girls (without just stumbling all the time or get a red face and things like that) . . . The advanced goals: - manage to learn the basics for 2 out of the following: Capoeira, Kung Fu, Ninjutsu, Taekwondo, Muay Thai - Jog at least 20 minutes and do exercise after (body weight) - for that: create my own Body Weight workout plan that fits just me (because after the basics I know what I can do and what I can´t) - together with the workout plan I shall create something that I call a "WARUM GENAU DAS?"-chart where I want to pin down what kinds of exercises fits best for me at what daytime and in what mood (and so on) - do at least 30 push ups at a time (w/e kind of style of push up fits me) - do at least 1 push up with feet on higher ground (to prepare later hand stand push ups ) - go out on a date (being self confident but not an a**hole) - practice hand stands with walls (and later on without) - join an American Football team and play for it - reach 120kg . . . The Boss-level: - do hand stands without walls - hand stand push ups with AND without wall - learn the basics of the rest of the martial arts listed above and get deeper into the first two learned - participate in a triathlon (and reach the goal not as last one !!) - participate in one of those big MMA-fights (and don´t get knocked out or killed within the first round !!!) - become good at popping (the kind of break dance style) and get nice flares PLUS a head spin done - mix up these skills at create a dancing routine to one of my favorite songs + perform it in front of at least 500 people - Having the honor to participate in a SUPER BOWL (even if it´s "only" being as member of the chain crew ) - reach 95kg . . . So these were the fitness and self confidence-goals. Now over to the things I want to really achieve in LIFE Travel, visit and/or live in: - South Korea --> live there for at least 2 years - whole UK (especially Scotland, because I love those single malts) - U.S.A. --> visit the M I T, the Statue of Liberty (or: New York in general), Alaska (live near the arctic circle for at least 6 months) - China --> stay in a buddhist temple (most likely the Shaolin-Temple in tibet) for at least 3 months, see the terracotta army "LIVE" - Brazil --> participate in that amazing and huge carnival . . . Languages to learn: - KOREAN - Chinese - Spanish - Finnish . . . Job-goals: - doing something that I love (THAT`S KIND OF THE ULTIMATE GOAL HERE - since I don´t want to be engineer for more than ... let´s say 10 years ... and I don´t want to do things/work later on that I hate to do) - earn a professorship at [what I love], because I will be so awesome at this that people want to learn it from me ! - make a living from something I started on my own I think for the beginning these are way more than enough "masteries" to achieve. I think ... or no .. I KNOW I will be adding more and more with time going on and on because I´ll get to know new people with new skills I want to achieve as well I think ....So if you read until now...I´m thankful for your interest and you might be the one to be my sidekick so feel free to contact me and talk ... AND TAKE ON THE JOURNEY TO MOUNT DOOM JUST LIKE FRODO AND SAM DID.
  15. What happened to my physical state ? meh I´m so out of form .... GREAT ! SOMETHING TO WORK ON !
