  1. Max week is where I have a list of lifts I try to max out to find my 1 rep max
  2. I am very happy. This monday I finished up my nine week plan and entered "max week". So far I've increased my snatch by 5kg (up to 60kg). my deadlift by 5kg (from 145kg to 150kg) and my squat by 10kg (from 130kg to 140kg). I am going to repeat the nine week plan after max week. Monday will focus on the clean, the jerk and front squats. It will be interesting if I improved in any of those
  3. @zenLara No, not translate what I said You said you were going to talk a bit of icelandic with me for practice
  4. yesterday was a good day at the gym. It has become pretty empty now during the summer which in turn makes me feel a bit more relaxed than usually I did some snatches (I feel like my form is improving, I had problems bouncing the bar on the triple extension due to my gut, but I am managing to work around that), some clean and jerks, some front squats (up to 95% of my max of 100kg, was pretty heavy but felt great) and ended with some snatch pulls. <Feelin' accomplished> @zenLara Hvar eru íslensku setningarnar!?
  5. Whoops forgot to update after yesterdays gym. I did heavy singles for most of the workout. Went gradually from 60% to 95% of my max in snatches, cleans and front squats. Then the program threw in some jerk-presses and some snatch pulls. (I had some extra time so I decided to bench a bit as well) Not much more I can say about that day Feelin' good
  6. Thanks zenLara Today was a nice day. The gym was almost empty so I just popped on some classic rock on the gym stereo and did my thang! Today I did some snatches, some clean and jerks, snatch pulls, squats and good mornings. For the next two weeks I will be strictly sticking to the program so I can taper towards a max week in two and a half weeks. Fun fun
  7. Not really training related perhaps but I just wanted to write up my thoughts of the day. I feel good. I mean really good. Before I started this adventure of mine thee months ago I felt pretty bad. I felt much older than I am (I am 33, I felt 45) since my body was starting to fail me slowly but surely. I regularly had a "bad back" and it was hard just to get up from my chair in order to fetch something. I was lazy as fudge. I have not felt as good as I do now in years
  8. Today was a pretty nice day at the gym. Did some snatches, clean and jerks, some pulls and then ended with some deadlifts. I thought "why not try for a new PR of 145kg (my old one is 140), the video above is the result.
  9. Today was the heaviest day of the workouts so far, all the exercises had three extra sets and they went all the way up to 90 to a 100%. It felt great when I was done. And it was fun punishing my chubby body a bit. But god damn it was hard. I did some snatches, clean and jerks (with an extra jerk), jerkpulls, front squats and presses. I'm damn happy with my performance today And now in Icelandic for @zenLara Dagurinn í dag var þyngsti dagurinn af æfinga planinu enn sem komið er.
  10. @zenLaraÞér er velkomið að skrifa á íslensku Well, I forgot to add to my log on friday. It was a good day. I dont remember the exact exercises I did (snatches, some clean and jerks, front squat and some more). The highpoint of that day was that I managed to improve my front squat PR from 75kg to 100kg. To be fair that PR was two months old I think at this point. Today was a nice day at the gym. It was packed since there was a big football match and most of the late hour gym people showed up early. I did squats, snatches, clean and jerks, presses and powerjerks. Iceland beat England today at football, so that added a nice little cherry on top of the day.
  11. @zenLara Takk fyrir að segja að Íslenskan sé falleg Þú virðist skrifa íslensku mjög vel svona miðað við. Hefurðu fengið að æfa þig á einhverjum áður? Creating helps the muscles last longer before you get too tired to lift more. It also pushes water into the muscles so they look a little bigger, which is kinda awesome. A couple of things you need to know about creatine tho. You would feel a little extra strength, but as soon as you stop using creatine that extra strength goes away. However the strength the muscle gained in the meantime stays. So for example if you are squatting 100kg for one rep normally, and then start creatine you might be able to push out a couple extra reps. After a couple of months you might have reached 120kg squat for three reps and you stop using creatine, you will drop down to doing 120kg for one rep. So you overall gained strength, but creatine boosted you while you used it. My plans for healthy eating is to eat a mostly paleo based diet and keep myself at a calorific balance. I'm currently aiming to gain strength, if I lose weight at the same time that would be nice. Today was a pretty nice day at the gym. Did some snatches, cleans, a massive amount of jerks (hurr hurr), squats, presses and ended the day with a bit of curling and benching. I managed to push out a new PR of 75kg on the bench, which is nice.
  12. @zenLara er velkomið að æfa sig á mér
  13. @SpecialSundae I bought muscletech platinyum creatine monohidrate and I can not detect any taste at all of it. I just dump two spoons in a cup of water and down the hatch. There is no lingering aftertaste even. @Endor Thanks Still caffeine free and no real cravings at all. I only half assed creatine once a few years back. I did not detect any real increase at the time but maybe I just did it wrong. No loading period and not patient enough at the time Today I had a pretty good day at the gym. Did some snatches, power cleans, jerks, roman lifts, presses and squats. The highpoint of the day was that I squatted 130kg twice! 5kg increase plus a rep over my old PR. Not sure how much of that is me and how much is creatine, but god damn, I'll take it! I attempted 140kg after that but had to dump it Maybe next month Happy days.
  14. Today was a hard day at the gym. Did a variety of exercises (snatch, powerjerks, cleans from the knee, squats and "good morning" bend overs.. not sure what that is called in english. Its called "Góðann daginn" in icelandic. But it was a hard day at the gym partly because I am off caffeine. I stopped last friday and am close to over the headaches. I felt my energy level at an all time low today But I went to the gym, god damn it!
