if you don't have sore muscles the next day, does that mean you didn't really push yourself? or is it not neccesarily a bad thing?

Pain (literal) =/ Gain
-
I'm with Photobrandon - although I find for me, it tends to be a sign that I've been doing the same workout too long and need to change it up to get the soreness back!
-
I try to change up my routine a bit when I no longer get sore. I like the soreness. It's reassuring. But I guess there's still gain. But not as much.
-
I think this is the first time I fell off the wagon that I pretty much immediately got back on. secretly a little proud of myself ^^
-
dog sniffing me makes me giggle. giggling makes it hard to stay in a plank!

My dog hits me in the face with her rope. Wish she was that cute...
-
haha, she also likes to come dangerously close when I'm doing jumping jacks etc. I've accidently hit and kicked her a few times. she seems to think it's fun though
-
note to self: playing music during workout makes workout lots of fun

Yes! I have a shuffle with a workout mix of songs I listen to only when working out. It's like a reward for getting to the gym.
-
The next step is to work out your theme song- the tune you play before each workout to get you pumped up and ready to kick arse!
-
I already have one totally "Party Hard" by Andrew W.K., haha! I used it to get psyched for roller derby bouts, too!
-
3rd time doing the beginner workout, done! feels good ^^ already adding weight to the rows and doing longer planks. those push ups though, ugh!
-
feeling surprisingly not sore today, I guess I didn't push myself hard enough yesterday! I -was- being careful not to overdo it. maybe I underdid it? heh
-
I hate that feeling! You're all like "That was pretty good!" but your muscles are like "Yeah... I guess..."
-
hahaha exactly I'm almost like "shall I just do it again today?" but nah, I'll skip the day and maybe go for more reps tomorrow!
-
Probably a better call. I know if I try two days in a row I'm too things: a) super bored and sore as %$#* the next day haha
-
-
did the beginner for the second time (really needed 2 days to recover from the first time!) let's see how I feel tomorrow

congrats! hopefully you felt a little less sore once you got into it. Afterwards, well, probably not
-
Go Minnie Go!
-
it is seriously so nice to get all these messages from complete strangers <3
-
still sore today.. not as bad as yesterday though. not sure if I can do the workout again or if I should wait until tomorrow
-
If you are just starting out sometimes its a good idea to work out even when sore, just take it a bit easier. Blood flow to sore muscles helps recovery. Within a few weeks you shouldn't get quite as sore anymore. Also hello and welcome! =)

thank you!

I was super sore two days after my first workout, but after warming up and starting into some squats, I was in less pain than when I started!

just did the Beginner Body Workout yesterday, thought it would be a doozy.. SO SORE!!!
