  1. Hello people. I just need to know if there are any other people in the NF universe who are loving the netflix Voltron as much as I do.
  2. So, update on the weekend: Saturday, I worked during the day. I ate no chips, but I DID eat a taquito (deep fried corn tortilla taco thing) a girl gave me. THEN I ATE A TACO SALAD THE COOK GAVE ME FOR LUNCH (not the shell, just the meat and cheese and lettuce and other vegetables). THEN I came into the possession of a free salad, which I ate with ranch dressing. So not awful, but not great. I don't normally get offered this much free food so I don't suspect this will be a problem. Sunday at church we had a celebration for the head of the Hebraic year (we are Christians but also pay attention to the Hebrew calendar). I prayed about it and felt let to be celebratory, so I ate the universe. #sorryfamyoureinmybellynow I needed the rest, so I am thankful to have not worked out this weekend. BACK TO THE GRIND
  3. Eating 5432890748327 tortilla chips (a gracious estimate) is held back by eating fresh salsa with a spoon (my coworkers think I'm a lunatic). haha
  4. I've really enjoyed Danger method. Those first two workouts with the 4 sets of 10 each are BRUTAL, but the rest of the week gives you space to recover. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  5. TODAY WAS SO PRODUCTIVE Had 8 am class (i'm a grad student) then I practiced! THEN I worked from 10-1 THEN I talked with my roommate THEN I went to the gym (week 1 Danger complete!) THEN I worked From 4:30 till 11:45pm While at work, no chips or soda were consumed...but I DID split some of a fajita burrito with cheese on it with a girl during lunch. But good food choices overall were made ONWARDS
  6. Quick update: Food things: had a glass of horchata at work yesterday. It's new, and it's good to be able to tell the customers what exactly I'm serving them (I also wanted horchata). Kinda sugary, but that's all I had. And I don't plan to make a habit of chugging horchata. Still going strong on the tortilla chips and dip, although HOT DANG I WANTED TO PUT MY FACE IN THAT BOWL OF CHEESE DIP YESTERDAY. But I suspect the cheese dip cravings will go away sooner or later haha (I HOPE) Lifting things: Did the 2nd workout for Danger method. I struggled because after doing overhead press, I was moving ahead to deadlift when suddenly some kind of crazy functional strength class started happening all around the half of the gym with the deadlift platforms. I proceeded to do my accessory work and then sit and wait 15 more minutes for this swirling vortex of box jumps to dissipate. Because of that, when I finally got to deadlift, I had some trouble (last two sets were 5 reps and not 10--just couldn't hold onto the bar). But it was a learning experience! Still have to make it into a practice room 2 more times this week to sing. Onto another day!
  7. Today: Fitness goals: Gym closed before I could make it in (had church tonight). I WILL MAKE IT TOMORROW. Food goals: No tortilla chips or cheese eaten. I literally ate salsa with a spoon out of a bowl in the kitchen so I wouldn't eat those damn chips. Those sexy, oily devils..No soda drank either Practice goals: I made it into a practice room today, if only to cram for my voice lesson this afternoon. Not proud of that. Must make it into the practice room tomorrow too! ONWARDS YO
  8. SO End of the first real day for me: Goals: Food things: No tortilla chips/soda was consumed today, although by the end of work I was so about to stick my face in a bowl of cheese dip (I didn't though haha). Success fitness things: I went to my morning class, then to work 10-130, then to the gym before having to be back at work from 350 to 1030pm. I am exhausted but it was worth it!
  9. So I'm studying singing as a performing art, while also being equipped to teach private voice lessons. I love my craft
  10. Just did the first day. ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME (can't wait for tomorrow!)
  11. So I know the challenge starts tomorrow, but I had work today, and I need the world to know that no chips were eaten and no pop was consumed for the entire lunch shift (at least not by me, haha). This is a solid start. Onwards!
  12. Alright, let's do this! Diet Steps towards clean eating. Specifically, --This means no soda (which I have a few times a week but don't miss when I don't drink it). --It also means no snacking on tortilla chips at the mexican restaurant where I work. And no cheese sauce! Fitness: I have been lifting off and on for about a year now. Started in Stronglifts, got bored/plateaued somewhat, so I started incorporating other things and kind of lost focus. This wandering must stop. So I'm committing to completing at least block 1 of Danger method (convenient since it's 4 weeks long). "Level up your life" goals I'm in a master's program for vocal performance and pedagogy. I haven't been in school and have never really been great at practicing consistently.I would like to see this change. So the goal is to set foot in a practice room and do something voice related for at least 20 minutes, 3 times a week. My other two goals are small because of the significant commitment starting a new lifting program requires. so let's see how it goes!
  13. Dude, you gotta do some batch freezer cooking. Take one day and make a mountain of paleo curry, meatballs, a crockpot of pulled pork, etc., then divide it up into individual servings in plastic bags, and freeze them. That way when you get home you can pull out one meal, take it out of plastic, put it in a bowl and microwave it! https://onceamonthmeals.com/blog/recipe-roundups/50-freezable-whole30-recipes/ And also check out NomNom Paleo because honestly that woman makes the best stuff. You can do this! try for one healthy meal a day first, and then see what happens.
  14. Yeah haha...for better or for worse that is not one of my problems right now.
