  1. Started my recovery feat early this morning. After Conquer the Gauntlet yesterday I was really sore and in some serious need of some roller time. Gonna hit it and some ROMWOD this week for sure. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
  2. 5ks three and four are done. Yep I did them back to back. Why? Because I'm dumb. Simple. Mm hmm. No but really, I wanted to see what the time difference would be. Ran the first at what I would call a training pace. Didn't do too bad. After a short break, I ran the second. I pushed to what I thought was a racing pace but ended up being about 30 seconds slower. I felt like I was running all crazy like. I'm honestly just happy to have done it at a run. Tomorrow is a strict rest day for recovery and Saturday I Conquer the Gauntlet! 3. 5k number two done. I walked the route with a workout partner. It was the first time he had even walked that far and timed it. Really proud of him. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
  4. Since I'm dumb and I don't know how these chalenges work apparently, I said I was going to run a virtual 5k every week for my speed feat. I guess I'll just do all four this week. First one is done. Three more to go. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
  5. Side effect of ruck in in the morning and running in the evening: new step count record. I'm actually pretty proud of this PR. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
  6. Wyldpool checking it! Just finished looking for Francis. He wasn't in my neighborhood so I decided to check out of town for a bit. He wasn't there either, so I doubled back past the elementary school and middle school. Still no sign of him. Checked by the shops up at the town square. Nothing. A lap through the neighborhood park and a few more side streets brought me back home. Maybe one of you will have better luck tracking him down. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
  7. Running behind on the ranger feat update so here goes. Did muscle up practice three times last week. Trying out a app called Thenics. It has progressive workouts dedicated to learning things like muscle ups or back leavers. Loving it! I even got a bit more practice with a muscle up on the leaning wall at Tough Mudder in Atlanta over the weekend. Now for the distance feat. I'm off tomorrow so I'm going to load up the back pack and hit the streets. I'll be looking for Francis all over town. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
  8. Enter the Wyldpool! Haven't been on the forums in a long time so I'm calling the a respawn. Speed Feat: Run a virtual 5k each week. Distance Feat: Walk/ ruck each week. Recovery Feat: Spend some serious time on the foam roller. Rangerly Feat: Pull up/ muscle up practice after each lift day. *Insert obligatory Deadpool gif here
  9. Hello fellow Lower-Alabamian. Those are some pretty impressive lifts you got there. I'm not looking for a gymmate but I just wanted to say hi and good luck.
  10. Hi! Im also new to the idea of parkour and freerunning. I hate to piggy back on your question but mine is much in the same vein. Would CrossFit shoes (Nanos) be good for nature parkour? I live the small town life and we don't have much of a urban playground so trees and such will be it for me.
  11. Hi, Im Bill. A bit more than a year ago I started on this crazy little boat ride we call fitness. After a few missteps and false starts I found Nerd Fitness and CrossFit. I became a devout Ranger and fell in love with the functional fitness community. Everything was roses untill about a month ago. Two of my closest friends and training partners quit our gym for personal reasons. I tried to keep going regularly but I just wasnt having the same kind of fun I had thrived on. Then out of the blue my work schedule changed and I could only go maybe twice a week. I was no longer getting my monies worth out of my membership. Lame. This prompted me to quit and try something new. After some soul searching (and some Google searching), a few at home workouts, and some financial balancing, I decided to build my own garage gym. At first I wanted to make a space that I could do CrossFit on my own. low celings and a limited budget made that impossible. Calisthenics seemed like the way to go. Ive built a rig in the back yard for pullups and dips. Ive boarded up one wall for handstand practice. Ive built a plyo box because why not. Ive even been practicing parkour vaults and rolls. Its so much fun and the heaviest thing I have is a kettlebell. I guess this means Im not a Ranger anymore. Thats cool. I can be just as proud to be an Assassin. Or maybe a hybrid class? What would you call someone who does bodyweight work, dabbles in parkour, runs mud runs, rock climbs and backpacks, and still competes in CrossFit when work allows? For now Ill just call him Me.
  12. Kicking off my 2016 trifecta with a little run through some Georgia red clay. Can't wait for March!
  13. Been slacking on the updates. Here goes. Thursday did FGBish. Double Unders were part of the workout so I sacrificed a good scales score to force myself to attempt them. RX. Friday did a quick Met on with SDHP and Burpees. Killed it RX. Thats a full week of RX. Finished up with some Pull Ups on the rings with a 18lb KB hanging between my legs to work on my pull strength. I'll keep stepping that up untill I'm closer to Muscle Ups.
  14. I've not RXed three WODs in the same week. Until now. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were all rocked. Tomorrow is a session of Fight Gone Bad. If I can handle the weights I'll make it a four-peat. Had planned to work on handstands as well but I had to run to make it to small group Bible study. All afternoon tomorrow is free so I'll do some accessory work then.
  15. Thanks for reintroducing me to Shadowrun. I've been playing around with a character that I think will eventually become my defined race and job type. Formori Shaman Boxer. Big fighter type who's in touch with nature. Think a 8ft tall Mikey the Pikey with a green thumb.
