  1. Howdy Neighbors, I’m looking for a fitness accountability partner at the Dorchester YMCA. I am not looking for someone to workout WITH, I just want to meet there at the same time for the same amount of time. More details: -Start time 7:15 am -About 35 min of workout time. -A total of 3 times a week on either Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and either Saturday or Sunday. -Once a week we would talk about our goals for the week and how we did the previous week. -I am just getting started so I would not be a good match for someone who is very advanced in their fitness game. -Please, no solicitation for personal training and other services thank you. -Drop me a line at amberpknight gmail
  2. I need to think up what the goal should be. All I could think of was to do a routine a week, like how Jonathan Coulton did a song a week for a year. I'm just spitballing with that one.
  3. I have no fitness goal to aim for. I don't care about running a race and my knees can't take running anyway. I don't care about lifting a certain amount, it doesn't drive me. I am a performer, theater, creative movement that might resemble dance, storytelling and then some. With some kinds of dance you can aim for higher kicks or more turns but that is not my thing. It doesn't have to have anything to do with performing I just wanted you took know what I am working with.
  4. I live in Boston and I am looking for a woman to be a fitness buddy. Really look to see if this is your Summer for change. What we would do: -Meet up physically once a week for no more than 1.5 hours. Somewhere off the T -Have accountability, encouragement, share resources and help brainstorm. -Have midweek check ins. -Talk about food, working out, challenges, successes and plans. -Have our own outside professional medical help -I have about 100 lbs to lose so I might not be a good fit for someone who only has 10 lbs to lose. Send a direct message to my inbox if you are interested, please.
  5. My first challenge: Buy and learn to cook veg from the food surplus program twice a week. This is a program where they basically give away (Only $2 a bag) perfectly good groceries that stores give them that would otherwise be dumped. Fitness Strech everyday - Right now I just up and stop working out when my walk is done. I want to add this for flexibility and mobility. Level Up Your Life Clean for 10 min a day. - More than just cleaning I want to declutter my life and feel it would be a good start to begin with my stuff.

  7. Guzzi, I am still figuring out the site. I have missed the start of a 6 week challenge twice. I am going to look into how the 4 week challenge works. I have not hit my stride on the site so I am going to work on coming here on the reg to get more out of it.
  8. Thanks for the encouragement. My podcast is Black Chick Watching thanks for asking. :-)
  9. I am a 35 year old actress, Playwright, podcaster, speaker and all matter of other creative adventurer. I am a Big Doctor Who fan, but liked it much much more when Russell T Davies ran the show. I didn’t read comic books growing up, but I do like the MCU and a couple of DC things. I’m also into making and listening to podcasts (Not just Serial either). I’m an Anglophile and like many Britcoms and drams. Also in my geekery I go to cons, schools, libraries and so on and do a talk about Black chicks in media. I have been trying to get fit since forever. I have put in more effort the last couple of months, but looked back at my before pictures and I look the exact same and my weight is just hovering. I have about 100 lbs to lose. Motivation: -I am going back into the dating scene so I want those OkCupid pics to be wicked -I want to be healthy. -I also made a very bad life choice by signing up for one of those sites where you can win money for losing weight. I am pretty sure I will not make the target and will be out quite a bit of money and there is no way out of the contract. Plan: -I go to a personal trainer 2 times a month for accountability, new routines and to check my form. -I use DVDs to work out and I like them so I don’t feel the need to join a gym. -I see a weight loss doctor and dietitian so they help me with my diet, but I cheat like a mofo, I’m talking a lot, so that has been the biggest obstacle.
