  1. Thanks so much for your reply. I think it is more in the upper part. Not that it is painful but uncomfortable is probably a better way to explain it. It is not all the time but more than I like. No mucous in the morning at all and generally in the morning, the bloating is less or gone. I think dairy may be an issue and will start cutting back on that as well as taking probiotics. I used to take them all the time and then stopped for some reason. Don't eat a lot of sugar currently so I don't think that is much of an issue. thanks for the link. I will check it out. Layne
  2. Thanks for the advice. I will talk to my dr the next time I am in. I don't have any issue with weight loss however. I stay pretty consistent even. As for water, I have some throughout the day. Over the past month or so, I have been drinking a lot of water and yes, I do generally bloat after drinking water a lone so as I keep up with my water intake, I will see how / if that changes. I wondered about the fat free milk and gluten as well. I am going to try and start cutting back little by little with both and see what happens. I do appreciate all the thought however. thanks everyone. Layne
  3. Hello all, I am 6'3" and weigh and fluctuate between 197 and 202. I don't have a problem in over eating (well on some occasions I might like at a great restaurant) but in general I have a bigger issue with under eating. Skipping breakfast (if I don't skip it is cereal) or lunch (sometimes both) eating a few healthish snacks later in the afternoon, modest dinner and then the really bad part, eating cereal, peanut butter sandwiches, chips, or other snacks well past 8 pm. Generally I do not get enough during the day because I am constantly busy during the day and at night, my hunger takes over until I go to sleep around 11 or 11:30. I know that is the absolutely wrong time to be eating by the way. I am getting about 1,200 to 1,500 calories a day. Every program I have used says I should be getting about 1,900 to 2,000 calories a day. Having said all of that, I have noticed that sometimes even when I have not eaten very much, my stomach bloats. Looks and feels like I ate a whole chicken. This can even happen after drinking a glass or water. The feeling can last 2 or more hours. I drink about half as much water as I should but generally drinking water always makes me bloat. I drink a soda here and there, maybe 1 a week or 1 every other week so not a big deal. I don't drink alcohol either. I do however drink a lot of fat free milk. Probably the thing I drink most outside of water. Up to 2 to 2.5 glasses per day. How bad is that? Any thoughts on bloating. thanks
  4. Goals are to get back to a normal workout routine. For years I had a regular workout in the gym going 3-5 times a week. I was also very active in the outdoors. Over the last couple of years my job took over my life. I am just now balancing it all out and am finding more difficult than I thought to get motivated again. I would live to workout at least 3 times a week at first. I am also trying to get into kettle bells. I have a full set at home as well as some dumb bells. I also have a pull up/ chin up bar. I do still have a large number of out door activities that I still keep up with including scuba. Basically, just looking for any additional motivation I can get to make sure I keep at it... Make sense.. Layne
