Ugh. My first post is about incontinence. LOL Oh well...
Two years ago I had my uterus removed--it was full of big fibroids and I wasn't using it anymore anyway. That went well, but...a little over a year ago I found I needed surgery for the bladder thing. The neck of the bladder shifted, along with some intestinal matter, after all that fibrous matter was taken out. So I had a TOT. (That first two weeks the walking hurt like $^^%*@!!!! "A tiny poke in each inner thigh to tension the mesh"--the hysterectomy hurt FAR less. Thank you kind robots who helped with the subtotal.)
And for all that pain? I got about eight months of running back with my Zombies, Run! 5K training. Oh. And now any movement in the bowels hurt. I wish I could blame mesh issues, but so far the mesh has held and isn't sawing through anything like those horror stories you hear when you're first learning what a "Transobturator Tape procedure" is. *shudder*
I'm happy it's "not just me" but also sad it's "not just me" dealing with this. I hit the restroom before and after my run and limit liquids for at least an hour beforehand. Strangely, urgency is now an issue where it wasn't until after the TOT and turning 39 1/2 and gaining 10 more pounds. I put on a Poise pad before my run too, just in case. This issue doesn't run in my family so no one had any advice. I'll try those deep squats...and it might be a good idea if I drank less coffee. But some days it's coffee or alcohol, and HR says drinking at work is *wrong*...
