Woot: The Beginning

Recommended Posts

I guess a mini woot is better than no woot at all.

Wooooooooooooooot!

Initial stats

-Late Nov 2013-

height: 5'7

weight: 180 lbs*

bmi: 29

measurements: 43-35-43

diet: 80% paleo

health: lame

stairs: 3 out 8 (I live on the 8th floor)

-Late Dec 2013-

weight: 185-187ish lbs*

measurements: 43-36-43

diet: rubbish

health: still lame, mega depressed

stairs: are for chumps

*gained 5-7ish lbs over the Christmas Holidays. I started strong, but living with my parents totally kiboshed my attempts at eating real foods. That and all the delicious shortbreads... They are still hounding me for not eating bread/pasta. But when I offer to cook for them, they shut up and let me do my thing. I think my mom is allergic to broccoli *sarcasm*

Current stats

-Late Feb 2013-

height: still 5'7 (I'd be shocked if it changed, as I have been this tall since I was 12)

weight: 179 lbs

measurements: 41.5-33-42

diet: 90% paleo (eat ALL the veggies!)

health: improving

stairs: 5 out 8

Everything starts small right? Workouts make me feel ridiculously amazing, I just need to do them more than twice a week. Still, it's something :) I'm hoping to sweet talk my dad into hauling my brother's old  weight set out of his basement and into my apartment. Who needs a dining room when you can have a weight room? ;)

I'm saving so much money as well by making my own food and drinking home-brewed green teas instead of Timmies and crappy school cafe garbage. My contigo travel mug was a great investment, it keeps my tea hot all day long. Also, my roommate isn't too keen on eating my "health junk", so I never have to worry about her eating my food again! I just wish she would stop offering me junk food.

*bonus*

I have a boyfriend now... life is good BD

AND I have been requested by several teachers to submit work to an upcoming art show!

I just started working on my own fitness, and it makes me feel exhausted thinking about climbing three flights of stairs, much less five -- kudos to you for all your progress!

Woot: Part Two

The Return of the Woot

-Late March 2014-

height: still 5'7

weight: 172 lbs

measurements: 41.5-32-41

diet: 80% paleo

health: blargh (kidney infections suck)

stairs: 6 out 8

Down 15 lbs! I don't see much change, but people around me do. My jeans are getting loose though, looks like I'll need new, smaller ones soon.

I will say that getting braces has been very helpful in keeping me on track food-wise. All the sugary, chewy foods I once loved are now impossible to eat, and the toothbrushing, don't even get me started.

Woot: Part III

The Revenge of the Woot

Let's do a comparison...

-Then-

weight: 187 lbs

bmi: 29

measurements: 43-36-43

diet: rubbish

health: still lame, mega depressed

stairs: are for chumps

-Now-

weight: 167

bmi: 26

measurements: 41.5-32-41

diet: 80% paleo

health: pretty fantastic (except the bad days)

stairs: 10/8 (booyah)

I'm not going to lie, working out hasn't been happening as frequently as I would like. School is wrapping up and I am swamped with assignments. Anyone who says being an artist is easy should spend a day dealing with my insane workload. On top of that, I am preparing to move back to my folks for the summer. I have lived on my own for over three years, so this is going to be a big change. Luckily my younger brother has promised to join me at the gym, he is an avid weight-lifter and is very supportive of getting me under the bar :)

Life is changing pretty quickly right now, but I'm ready for the new challenges ahead.

....I'm also going to be in an art show next week ON MY BIRTHDAY!!! :D

Now if you will excuse me, I am going to go make a cardboard box fort in my living room under the guise of packing.

Current Stats: Late July 2014

weight: 162 lbs

bmi: 25

measurements: 39-31-39

diet: 80% paleo

health: pretty decent

I moved back in with my parents for the summer. As much as I love my family, I miss having my own space. After living three years on my own, it feels cramped and awkward.

On the bright side, my younger brother also came back from school and we have been hitting the gym 3 times a week. Having someone to go with (and who fends off the scary people) has been awesome. I'm going to seriously miss having a gym buddy when I go back to school.

My diet has severely suffered from living at home. It is a huge struggle to keep the fridge stocked with anything remotely healthy. At the moment I am not actively eating a caloric deficit (but also not a surplus), I am definitely going to get myself back on the wagon once I am in charge of my own food supply again in September.

I am in love with bench pressing! I started out with 35# in the beginning of may, and have gradually made my way up to 65#. I love how accomplished it makes me feel!

And now for ze progress pics!
