OK I gather this is where all this stuff goes...so copypasta and voila!

 

Main goal: To ultimately lose 44.6kg (lost 5kg so far)

 

Challenge 1:

 

1st 6 week goal: To lose 3kg

 

Mini goal 1: To walk a minimum of 15 kms every week

Mini goal 2: To remain within my calorie limit (currently 1600) 5 days out of 7 (2 cheat days because socialising and GoT)

Mini goal 3: To drink between 2 and 3 litres of water every day

Signed up for the HBF Run for a Reason 4km walk on the 25th May, which I notice is the final day of the current challenge...the Gods are having a laugh with me I think. My charity is SIDS & Kids WA.

Did the SIDS & Kids Sunshine Beach 5km last month, nearly killed me lol...came dead last - beach sand is a right b****!

Maybe next year I'll be signing up for the running categories instead of the walking ones...

Grrr at myself and circumstances and best laid plans and all that.

Yesterday was a washout. Helping a friend renovate their house, great exercise and drank plenty of water, but they insisted on thanking me by providing lunch and dinner - both calorie laden take aways, so I ended up way over my calorie limit.

Day 5:

Exercise: 5 hours of painting plus incidental fetching and carrying

Calories: way too many :(

So disappointed about going over my calories the extra day :(
Still, if I make my overall goal, then I guess one slip up isn't too bad.

Day 9

I want to do the No Soda PVP, but I can't handle the headaches and stuff from going cold turkey. Instead I'm going to set myself a prequel of cutting down another level. I've been cutting down for a while now and have gone from about 6 red bull zero and countless coke zero to get through a day to one red bull zero I the morning, one coke zero at lunch and one red bull zero pre workout/in the afternoon. From today I am stopping the morning red bull zero, halving the coke zero at lunch and only having the afternoon redbuds zero every second day. The only exception will be social situations where I have alcohol and need a mixer.

Joined the Renaissance Rebels and started the Adventurer mini quests

Struggling a bit today, not enough sleep the last few nights. I'm trying to cut out my morning energy drink and staying up to all hours 'getting stuff done' isn't helping lol (last night I was baking bread, making a casserole and baking chickens - I tend to cook a week of meals at a time because I'm a little over-scheduled and time poor). I was planning to catch up on housework tonight but it will still be there tomorrow (unfortunately)

Day 11

Still struggling, still going without the morning energy drink (although I nearly caved this morning), got to bed a bit earlier but not by much - was canning leftover casserole. Score of the day - housemate brought home fruit platters leftover from a function she was working at and said to help myself, so kiwifruit and strawberries for morning tea today!

Ugghh I need tea...or toothpicks to hold my eyes open...

Feeling a bit rough, back and legs ache from yesterday, stirred up my sciatica a tad. Not sleeping properly, think the reduced aspartame intake has something to do with that, it will settle as my body adjusts. Supposed to catch up with friends tonight, might catch up with my pillow instead.

Day 14

Oh for a gentle, plod along day where the only thing I have scheduled is my 5k....

But that ain't happening so I will savour my cup of tea then get my butt moving, helping my renovating friend again today and I have to bake bread and get my 5k in beforehand.

Edit: Saved by rain, no renos today. Also not going to do my 5k, feeling a bit under the weather and Ive met my quest goal for the week.

Day 15

Kept waking up coughing overnight, either Im coming down with something or it was the cat butt in my face, either is just as likely. Broken sleep = crappy mood and no energy. However, Mondays are my busiest day at work so the 'dealing with people' part of the day should pass mercifully quickly, then I can get some endorphins flowing with my 5k.

Day 16

Dayum I slept well last night. Fingers crossed my body is adjusting to the reduced aspartame and I can cut down further soon.

My Run For a Reason race pack was delivered today....squeee!!!!

Discussion around the office is that the next one after that is the City to Surf in August...thinking thinking...August is months away....which event will I be fit enough for by then...4k walk (definitely), 12k walk? maybe....4k run? that's a little brave, but possibly do-able...hmmm....maybe next challenge I'll do a C25K....

Day 17

Just done 10 rounds with a friend with a mental illness. I would cut someone for the red bull residue underneath their fingernails right now. I am utterly drained. Worst part is I dont think I did any good because she really wasnt in the kind of mood she can be talked down from. When her illness is semi stable she is awesome, but when something triggers her she can be....hard work. I dont want to think any more today, my brain hurts. I am looking forward to clearing my head with my 5k today.....in 3.5 hours time....until then I must maintain my masquerade as a functioning adult :(

Day 19

Haven't used either of my cheat days this week yet....not sure if I should make it mandatory that I use them or just a 'I can use them if I need to' thing. On a day to day basis I eat quite well while staying within my calorie limit and I have had days where Ive added it up and felt its too far under and made myself have a few squares of chocolate or something (which I haven't really enjoyed) to bring my calories up. I think I'll make it just a 'use them if I need to' thing, like a 'get out of jail free card' its more for if I'm socialising - which usually means a couple of alcoholic drinks, and nibblies (alcohol and socialising means no willpower with snacky stuffs) which will put me over.

Day 22

Rough day. On the bright side, I'm looking forward to my walks on the rough days for the endorphin hit. On the not so bright side I have housing uncertainty, house shorted out overnight and it turns out the wiring is somewhere near Precambrian and the whole house needs re wiring. Since I'm renting, and the rest of the street is being demolished soon to build high density units, I'm hoping the sentimental value (current owner's parents lived their whole lives here, his mother even passed away here) means repairs because otherwise I may be looking for a new place. Not easy with pets at the best of times but there is a serious shortage of available housing here so *stressing*

Day 23

Struggling today. Couldnt sleep so was up half the night working off my anxiety scrubbing the house, so Im stiff and sore and sleep deprived. Still stressing, which I know is pointless and solves nothing. House is spotless though so yay me I guess. I just wanna go for my walk and get sweaty...6.5 hours to go...

Yay, enough calories! Thanks 18ck! Couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter after my walk did the trick.

Day 24

Feeling better today, slept well, got enough calories yesterday, so far no headaches from the aspartame cut down. Adventurer's Guild quest this week is discipline based. So Im opting to become more disciplined about getting up when my first alarm goes off and getting stuff done in the morning (rather than forcing my butt out of bed after the 5th or 6th alarm with only enough time to get ready for work). I used to be good at this when I was taking my sons to work, but since they left home Ive become a bit of a slug. I got so much done this morning!

Apparently we have a storm coming in late this afternoon and its predicted to be a doozy, may not get my walk in today, wonder if my knee will stand up to some stepping...really need to find the heart rate monitor thingy for my treadmill, or order a new one. It dangles so of course the feline community decided it was a cat toy and now its vanished, treadmill wont work without it...or will it I wonder....so long as *something* magnetic is in its place...hmmm...will have to look into that.

Day 25

Knees and muscles pulled up ok this morning. Good to know. Inquired about a new safety key for the treadmill so we'll see how that goes. I think its an older model though so not holding my breath. I can stair climb though when the weather is too foul to walk, so yay!

Ok mid afternoon and the calves have started letting me know I was stair climbing yesterday. I think its more because sitting on my butt all day lets the lactic acid build up than any muscle strain though (and still no grizzling from my knee! Yay for patella straps!). Looks foul outside with roughly an hour and a half to go, bar any divine intervention it looks like Im stair climbing again tonight. Got a reply back about the safety key for my treadmill, manufacturer still stocks the parts so Ive ordered one, with a little luck it will come early next week.

Yay for divine intervention! Dizzled a little bit but no heavy rain until after I was done.

Calves are pretty tender today and knee is a teeny bit twingey, its office cleaning night tonight so no walking for me. Hopefully the night off will help. Supposed to catch up with friends tonight. Dont really know if I want to. I know Im becoming a hermit lately so I guess I should make the effort. Meh, I'll decide after I finish my day job and my cleaning job.

Decided to stay home tonight and be a crazy cat lady hermit. I'll be social tomorrow night instead. I'm tired.
