Finally happy/comfortable with food

Recommended Posts

Until today, I don't think I was ever happy with the way I was eating. When I wasn't trying to be conscious of it, there was always that whisper in the back of my mind that I tried to ignore that was telling me to was too much. When I was trying to be conscious of it, food became a source of stress and anxiety. I didn't want to eat too much or too little or the wrong thing.

I was being a silly Quothy over in my challenge thread and mentioned that I was considering going low carb again because I haven't been losing as much weight as I wanted, but I was miserable on low carb and couldn't work out as much. Then I posted about how even though I hadn't lost much weight, I have been noticing some awesome changes in my body and my clothes are fitting crazy well. My GL pointed out that it was obvious which path to take.

I was responding when I realized that I'm actually happy with my eating habits right now. They're not perfect: I still splurge on gelato somewhat regularly and there are these Mediterranean pizzas that I love right now. I just am aware of it and balance it out accordingly.

But I stopped stressing about it. My eating habits are dialed in and pretty effortless.

For anyone out there thinking that food will always be a battle no matter what: it won't be. You can figure out what works for you and it will work.

TL;DR: Holy friggin' crap! I'm actually happy with food when I never thought that was possible!

This is a goal most people never achieve.  Congratulations.  So many have an unhealthy relationship with their food.  This makes life itself so much easier.

Thanks!

The best part is, I didn't even realize I had achieved it. I've been so busy with life stuff that I've just kept moving forward and I kinda let go of the food stress/anxiety. It's wonderful to look ahead to the next challenge and think "My food goal this time around? Keep doing what I'm doing". I am going to be focusing on bringing my workouts up from 2-3x/week to 4-5x/week now. Feels good to not worry about both :D
