So here we go, a new log ( taking a leaf out of a very wise, younger NF'er ), for a new program and new start.

I must say New Rules of Lifting for Women was great and I have every intention of taking workouts from there when and if I must. I do realise on SL 5x5 we are not necessarily needing to accessory lift at all, but a change is good every now and then.

I also begin work on the 18th of August and will have access to a swimming pool.......JOY! Swimming is a passion of mine forever! Spending a better part of my childhood and adolescence in the water and smelling of chlorine with the accursed green tinged hair. Which means I can swim 4 days a week!

There is also nutrition, which whilst still very good, not very clean, it began with a morning bowl of porridge and ending in porridge, bread ( even if it is whole meal ), and potatoes, the dairy also crept back in, with a need to try smoothies. So we are heading to a primal more than Paleo type diet, cut grains and potato etc, keep a little bit of dairy, ensuring it is plain, no flavoured milk, yoghurt or other types of naughty sugar laden yummies.

Weight: 91.06 kilo

BF%: approx 21% give or take.

So here we go Stronglifts, Primal Diet and Swimming!

Hahaha, I fall into that trap all the time, (oh, that felt easy! Let's make it harder) and then wonder why I get discouraged.

I'm excited to see what gains you make with the SL 5x5; One day if I ever decide to get a gym membership that's probably something like what I'll follow.

Especially if I see you knocking goals out of the park!

Also, swimming! I went swimming once, but all the school kids scared me away. Serves me right for picking the wrong time to go I guess. :P If it was ever not cold in Albany I would consider swimming in the ocean.

I love the excitement of Week 0. I'm excited to see what everyone gets up to for the next challenge.

AHH.

Strong Lifts !!!

I love that program.  If I could lift again I would definitely do it.

Way to join something that can start so seemingly little and build up into beast mode.

Soon you'll be crushing my old record of squatting 280 (Smith machine, didn't know how to squat but was told to get a max on something, so I tried them, in high school, really bad form too.)  And you'll be doing them right.

I'm going to try the whole swimming thing. I am not all that good at it,m but the water gives me enough resistance so I can get bit of a workout.

Week 1 Workout B 23/07/2014

Warm Up

Skipping 2 minutes

Various BW and Machine Exercises.

Squat

5x5@22.5 kg

OHP

5x5@20 kg

Deadlift

2x5@40 kg

Cool Down

Skipping 2 minutes and stretches.

Hahaha, already deviated from the plan, did two sets of Deadlifts.........I couldn't help it, was feeling like I had just warmed up! Pretty sure this won't last for long once the weights start hitting my previous NROLW best.

Feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment, seems to be a lot of shit going down at once, and I have that dreadful feeling that it won't be getting any less chaotic in the next few months.

Priority is at the moment is lift and get these Lads school portfolios started so when our Moderator interview rocks around I am not last minute panicking, which is what I usually do.

I definitely need to establish my early mornings again, suck up the fact that it is fucking cold and just get on with shit!

Take good care of your shoulders when you start swimming.  Swimming is great for everything, but between that and the lifting you're asking a lot of your shoulder joints.  Make sure to do lot's of stretching and mobility work and bla bla bla.  :positive:

Hiccup with a shed full of teenagers in my shed, who are not going to move anytime before noon tomorrow. I guess it is a good chance to suss out the Gym in town, so that's my plan. I have to do it sooner or later anyway.

On the plus side I found out today there is a PROPER gym in the town where I am going to be working, so going to do a recon out there as it may be open before I need to start work........the one here is cheaper but by the looks of their web site the other one has better equipment.

We'll just have to go and see!

A PROPER gym? Hah, I know what you mean though. Handy that it's where you'll be working too, I suspect a new routine could be in order!

How's your hip? Don't push things like that too hard. Do some gentle stretchy things or just walk about so it doesn't seize up or get worse.*

*My pretty uneducated prescription for niggly hips. "She'll be right" is everything else I can think of. :P

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity:

but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.

Finished the trees and the lads got good and muddy.

Got home and de-cluttered the school room and finished the lads program for the next week. So already winning there!

Found two display files I can use for getting their portfolios started so keen for that.

Must be time for bed. Eyes are itchy.

Stonglifts Week 2 Workout B

Warm Up

Skipping 3 minutes, machine work, BW work

Squat

2x5@20kg

5x5@27.5kg

OHP

5x5@22.5kg

Deadlift

2x5@45kg

Cool Down

Skipping 2 minutes, stretches.

I can Deadlift 45 kilo! Which means another 5 kilo and I have run out of plates.

Extremely tired today, had a case of the "can't sleeps" last night so stayed up and had a Riddick fest. Which was not a good idea, but better than laying in bed watching the ceiling.

My eldest has been home for the weekend, but is leaving today. He has disrupted our morning school by shooting his little brothers with nerf bullets. Has been a good morning though! Love it when all the boys are home.

Congrats on the good progress so far! I started the SL program just a few weeks ago, and it's always good to see someone else sticking with it. I'm jealous of your pool access; I miss being able to swim, especially now that it's hot outside. Good luck with the continued work!
