Hi Gang!

 

As of this post I am 15 days out from my trip to China. Specifically, I will be staying in a town called Liuzhou in Guangxi Province. This is in Southern China and is near the mountains. So excited. 

 

I will be there for two weeks to visit and train with my Kung Fu teacher and author, Phillip Starr. I'm staying in his home and in general going where he goes. Biggest fear I have on this trip is the food. I am an extremely picky eater, and I've taken great steps forward in the last few years for the sake of my health. I am also at the very end of a cutting weight phase (173 pounds and roughly 9-10% body fat). I'm worried I will not be able to find good sources of protein there to maintain my muscle mass. 

 

Does anyone know if I can take protein powder/protein bars into the country with me?

They have chicken and beef and eggs and everything in China too, even if it isn't served as burgers and spaghetti bolognese, so you shouldn't have much problem with finding protein sources there. Also, no-one will mind you bringing protein powder or protein bars into the country any more than they would mind you bringing a loaf of bread. You might get some questions if they think you just have a huge tub of cocaine haha but it'll be fine.
