Thanks for having me.

Looking to join in on the convo as fitness has sort of overtaken my interests this year. Some lurking seemed to indicate you all have a friendly community and some knowedgeable members.

About me:

34 years old for a few more weeks. Young family at home and constantly on the run. Do most of my fitness related activities after the sun goes down.

2014 was a year of lifestyle change for me. Started the year at 235 lbs, pre-diabetic, drinking too much, eating terribly, etc. Nine months later and I'm closing in on 70lbs shed with a drastic improvement in my diagnostics. Motivation was mostly vanity and a desire to improve conditioning for another sport I play. Diet and interval training were the main catalysts for the weight loss. More a focus on sustainable and steady changes rather than things that I couldn't keep up with long term.

Started Stronglifts 5x5 about a month ago. I knew I wanted to build muscle and strength after the big cut, but really didn't know where to start. The simplicity is what drew me in and I've really enjoyed the journey so far. Started at the lowest possible weight as advised and am just getting to the point now where every workout is a relative challenge. Still in the midst of a final cut to hopefully eliminate the last of the belly flab, but am starting to realize if I'm going to progress more with my lifts I'll likely need to start eating again. Plan is to transition here in the next few weeks assuming the cut continues in a positive direction like it has been going.

Anyway, Overhead Presses are the devil and I am growing a beak from all the chicken I eat. Wouldn't have it any other way. Peace!
