Support from an unlikely place!

Is this a woot? Not sure.

Just got support from an unlikely person today. Work break room, our company just had their annual company picnic, and like usual a lot of left overs in the break room. Cookies, Chips, Hotdogs etc.

I was eyeing up a hotdog, I had just ate my tuna and drank my shake and even said, "Hmm. Hotdog?" as I think a loud a lot. I didn't need it, I knew that; but willpower has been failing me lately. Our IT head, been with the company 20+ years said, "You don't need that. You are doing so good." she's made comments about how good I've done etc. here and there admittedly, but...

That was pretty sweet. Some might take offence to it, maybe; but that was awesome in my eyes. After I had just posted on my status about needing some support and to get some from a person I respect?

I said thank you, and that I needed that.

That being said, maybe it was a likely person... but, I guess I could change it out to 'unexpected'.

You needed some extra support and when you least expect it someone says something that you needed to keep you motivated. Thats a win or woot in my book! Also I'm sure it felt good for someone to reassure you that you are doing well, sometimes when we are falling off the wagon thats all the pickup we need!

Support from colleagues is amazing.  Brilliant that she's noticed all the work you're doing and is supportive. 

 

The more folk around you to cheer you on the better.  Next you just need to get a healthy option into the work lunch - satsumas anyone?
