Minor Milepost

Recommended Posts

I'm a cook, and a middle aged fat guy - been eating at a calorie deficit since July. The scale tells me I'm down about 20 kg, which is cool and all, but I've got 35+ to go before I hit my goal so it's a long way off and I haven't really noticed that much of a change.

Since I started my current job about 9 years ago, I've always grabbed a 2XL chef's jacket if one's available - when I've had to wear an XL, it's always been a little tight. A week or so ago, we were out of 2XLs, so I grabbed an XL... and it fit fine, roomy enough to move comfortably on the line. Been wearing only the XLs since then, which is something I never thought I'd do - all my fancy embroidered chef's jackets for special occasions are 2XLs.

So hey - it is working. Cool. Might even pick up XL t-shirts next time I'm clothes shopping.

Next milepost: losing a plate (45 lbs, almost there), which will make for a fun progress pic. After that, at 23 kg down, I will have rolled back the clock - or at least the scale - 10 years to the weight I was when I moved to Vancouver. Looking forward to both. Stay the course, get where I'm going.
