welcome to my post and thank you for reading!

I have spied around this website and the forum for a little time now, trying to find the right foor to cross the threshold.

It was the left foot. Now it hurts, I should've been more gentle.

I am done with doing nothing. For over a year now I am sitting at a desk in my new job and bore my body to death. I have no energy to do much apart from hours long walks with my dog and passionate shouting at the tele when watching wrestling or football. Or snooker, for that matter.

I want to change something very badly, but I realised I cannot do that alone. That's why I came here.

My weight is not an issue, by weighing 49-52 kg (depending on day and food) I am pretty certain that it could be improved. Eating regularly and healthy is a problem.

Growing up with canned food instead of fresh stuff I am a bit struggling with finding my way to keep healthy. I love vegetables, I just sometimes forget that. And then I go back to pizza and pasta to spare some minutes for...nothing actually. That's the odd thing. I do not gain anything apart from sitting around longer. Ok, and watching more Battlestar Galactica before going to bed, I admit...

Sometimes I believe I am so stressed when in fact I did nothing that would stress me. I cheat myself into thinking I have a very busy life, when actually I am very sad about how it really is. Hanging out with friends is awesome, don't get me wrong.
I love watching a movie, meeting people and the like.

But that does only improve my social skills. And I do not want to be a socially skilled mochi in ten years. Because that will not help me surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. Zombies cannot be talked into a situation. Zombies eat mochi.

I am catching up with Agents of Shield lately and caught myself wondering about how cool it would be to have ass-kicking power like Melinda May. I started thinking about going to a gym and so I did a test training.

It was really fun and I will sign up with them next month, so I have a trainer that can kick my butt when needed.

When I started worrying what would happen to my body if I sign up for 2 long years (fyi: there are three different contract possibilities, like a cell phone contract. Option A is for 2 years and obviously the cheapest) a friend of mine sent me the article about Staci.

And that was frakkin inspiring.

Since I was hoovering about the "what to eat" question all my life, due to a sensitive stomach, I draw a line and ordered a paleo cook book. I hear so many good things about that way of eating, I want to see if it really is true. If not, meh, I still have the experience.

I signed up here to get backup. It would be awesome to be able to talk about how and what to train when I am at the gym. I mean, yes, there is a trainer, but I like to get more then one opinion on a topic.

Also I like the attitude around here. I just bought a Nike sweater today that says "Just Do It". Gear is everything!

Next monday I have a test training at the nearest gym, I don't assume it is better than the first one, but since it is closer I give it a try.

If I dislike the atmosphere, pricing, I am off.

Tests told me I was a Goblin going Ranger. Still trying to figure out if that is true.

Unfortunately I am too late for the 6 week challange, so I will start preparing my stuff and sign up for the next one.

Thanks again for reading and I am happy to be here. Hoping to be a part of something bigger than just myself.

Hello! Best of luck on your fitness journey. If you haven't already, a good place to start is beginning your battle log and finding out if there are any rebels in your area.

Science fiction is an existential metaphor, that allows us to tell stories about the human condition. Isaac Asimov once said: "Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all."

Hey nice for you to join us finally. Hope you settle in well with the NF family. You'll get to enjoy some pretty awesome people. It's definably really nice atmosphere, unlike most of the internet (where you'll be ripped apart). So don't worry about asking for help.

Since you watch BSG, this might help

Good luck!!!!! I Also had trouble with the eating bit at work (M&Ms and pretzels are NOT lunch!) and at home (lots of rice and pasta since it's quick and easy was my thought). If you really have less than 20 mins to cook check out jar salads or precooking on the weekend. I always have a few meals in the freezer I can throw in the microwave if I have no time and it gives me awesome protein and veg instead of empty carbs.

Check out the nutrition threads, lots of good (and quick!) recipes if you have a little more time on your hands (a lot are under 30 mins!)
