One Month Nicotine Free!

Recommended Posts

Super psyched, today marks one full month since I quit nicotine completely!

Technically speaking, I quit smoking months ago and I've been weening myself off of nicotine with the e-cig since then..got all the way down to 10mg (pack a day smokers prefer 20-26mg by comparison).  And round about the time I got my flu this year I decided to give it up completely since using the e-cig was a no go with the flu symptoms..I figured if I was being forced to take a week off anyways..what the hell? Let's do this!

And I did, and I made it, and I'm psyched.  I've actually quit cold turkey once before, straight from smoking to no smoking..and the first month was the worst, actually the last week of the first month was worst than the first few days..and it was pretty much the same thing this time around.  Last night was horrible, I almost broke down and begged my friend to let me bum one..but I didn't..which is good, because I have made a pact with all of my friends who smoke..if I ask for a smoke, they get to kick me in the..erm..jewels.  It's been a fairly good deterrent.

Anyways, since I got the first month down..I'm feeling more confident about the coming few weeks..and I can't wait to search for this thread a year from now and revive it to acknowledge my first full year without nicotine!

No, you definitely don't..I still get them now.

I quit once before for 18 months..ended up re-starting because I moved to Germany at the time, and everyone smokes there..all the time..being around it that much I finally caved.

This time though, I want to get fit, I want to do races, I want to do things I've never done before..and I know that smoking was one of my biggest obstacles holding me back.

Congratulations!  When I had my first child my parents both quit smoking.  They'd tried multiple times before but always ended up back at it.  I know that it really was one of the toughest things they've ever done in their lives.  Going for your first month off is serious business!  Huge congratulations!
