Just joining the fight!

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to pop my head in and say hi, nice to see you all! I'm so happy I found my way here! It seems to be a really nice community and I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

The reason for me to be here is that I have been overweight my whole grow up life. I have always had an unhealthy realtionship to food and I hated to be physicaly active. I hated to sweat. Hated how my body fealt when I was moving. It was so much more easy to sit on the couch and shove chocolate in my face instead.

But that has changed! I realised in august this year that nothing will ever change if I don't. And if I keep on trying to get differens results with the same method over and over again...well...that never worked before so why would it work now? I decided to stop dieting and start working out. I did classical pilates for 2 years as part of rehab after breaking my left ankle in like nine places and it was what got me started. But I was still afraid of pushing myself. Pilates is awesome and I still love it alot - I just started to feel that my body was ready to explode. It was like when I started moving around my body loved it and then all of a sudden it craved more. So in august I finally did what I have been afraid of doing for about 3 years - I enrolled in a local crossfit-box! I remember my first session there. As I crawled out and home, feeling faint and wondering if I had to stop and throw up in a bush I just felt like I had found my way home. This was exactly what my body and I needed! So I stayed. And I make small progressions all the time. And I'm proud of myself for that.

So the next step in my journey is to get the nutrition on board! The goal is to have a plan ready for 1st of january and then just rock it!

Now I have decided to join in here to get some new friends and to find some kindered spirits to talk to and to fight alongside of. And I'm OH SO HAPPY that it is all in the gaming-spirit! Gotta LOVE table-top RPG.  :playful:

Oh...uhm...yeah....sorry for the vomitlike cascade of words. XD

Aaanyways....  Hiii:redface:

Hey, welcome to the Rebellion! You should be proud for taking the first steps towards improving your health. It's really important that you make small changes and then set new ones once you reach your goal to avoid burn out and losing motivation. I'm glad that cross fit is working out well for you. A tip for your diet is to eat for nutrition. Don't think about what you can't eat; instead, focus on all of the healthy food options and think about what nutrients they are providing your body. Little by little one walks far. Keep up the good work!

What Table-top games you play?

Hi and thanks! Yes, I think I need to start thinking the other way around when it comes to food. What goes in decides what comes out. So the better stuff I put in the better can my body preform...I will surely adapt my eating after this. :)

As a cat-lover I should hate the Kittens-in-a-Blender game...but I don't!  It's fun silly stuff!

Haha I know! I'm a cat-lover myself and in fact in the process of getting me a little furball of doom. But I still love the game, so much fun! I did try to play it after having a few glasses of wine but...myeah....it was fun but the amount of kittehs I saved dropped somewhat. XD

And an official welcome to NF! You are definitely going to rock this!

I am a little concerned about this Kitten-in-a-Blender game...please tell me the goal is to not put kittens in the blender...

Ah no no! The goal is to put your own kitties in a box (cats and buxes - DUH! ;D) and the oponents kitties....in...uhm...yeah.....the blender. -_-'

Still fun though!

Congrats on making some changes! I look forward to hearing about your Crossfit experiences (I keep hearing about the phenomenon, but I have no idea what it is). And, good luck on your journey!

Thank you! I hope to start seeing changes in myself too soon! But hey! When I started I couldn't do a proper squat and now I can! Plus I can fo push ups now! Well...sort of. :P Still there are things happening and I love it! :D
