Hi everyone!

I've been following the NF site for a little while now, mostly for help in my diet. I'm hoping to go full paleo this new year, been slowly weeding things out to get used to it.

I am a 29 year old female currently at 200 lbs which is the heaviest I have ever been. I've always battled against my weight but the low point was the last 6 months. I moved to a new state with my boyfriend for his job and I have been so bummed out that I stopped giving a crap about everything. I'm finally over that but now I'm dealing with the consequences.

 

I joined a local crossfit gym that my boyfriend introduced me to cuz he knows the owners. They're really nice people and I've had 2 classes so far. I've done my research about what to ask and what to pay attention to in order to make sure this place isn't one of those horror-story gyms and so far I'm enjoying myself. 

 

I don't know what guild to pick.

I'm just hoping to find people here to share crossfit experiences with and of course any knowledge that can be spared  :rolleyes-new:

Welcome to NF! We have a quite a few crossfitters in the Rangers and the class suits the multi-talented no specialisation of crossfit, come check us out :)

 

My advice for a crossfit newbie, be very patient with your progress on the overhead movements (Snatch etc.) Even though the WOD's have an emphasis on speed, slow down and perform each movement correctly. Once you have mastered the movement and have the flexibility to perform it well then you can start going faster. Don't give a shit about coming in last, avoid injury and you will overtake the other folks who are rushing their progress as they get injured and have to sit out while you continue to train. Most of all enjoy yourself and say hi to the other folks in the box, crossfitters are a friendly bunch and will be pleased to help you out with stuff ;)
