Guess it's my turn now

Recommended Posts

Greetings all!

According to the email I received yesterday I am now officially in the Rebellion, guess that means no more excuses for not typing my intro.

Where to begin, I am a typical 41 year of guy, like playing video games, with and without my boys (mostly without).   All my adult life I had not been doing any real exercise, I had a lot of knee pain and no doctors would bother to try and fix it.  I went to 15 different doctors in 18 years before I found one young and new enough to want to try and fix it.  He did awesome and in 2010 I was finally able to walk down the street with no pain.

2 years ago I was looking in the mirror and hated the way I looked, not overweight per say, just didn't like the way the weight I did have was proportioned. It was time to do something.  My mom and Brother in law had great success in running so I decided to give that a go.  Lots of start and stop on the couch to 5k program but finally in August I decided to actually finish the program and see what happens, changed up my diet a bit with more fruit and less junk.  A little over 12 months later I had lost the 25-30 pounds that I was going for.

Now comes the challenge of, I have the weight I want, but the look still isn't there, I had been doing these 30 day challenges, but hurt myself about mid November and had to stop that month, Decembers challenge had some of the same exercises that caused my injury so I bypassed that month, and January didn't look like it would help me either.

Then a facebook story lead me to the beginners strength training link to the nerd fitness website, I workout site created by a gamer?  Yes please, so here I am, I have started that training and am two days in, but need to take a mandatory rest day due to hurting me knee again, nothing a little ice and meds won't cure.

Wow, and here I thought this would be a really short and boring post.  Shows what I know.  Thanks for listening to my ramblings.
