Hello from the Little Lion

Recommended Posts

Hello guys! New girl in the area!

I'm really excited about everything here! I knew NF 2 days ago!

Hoping to get my parkour abilities sharp and my kung fu too! And of course, lose some weight (i'm not too much overweight, but it makes a difference) and gain some muscles :) and yes ENDURANCE please! Without it I can't last much time hahah

Thank you guys for existing, this really makes a difference for people like me who normally lose focus when doing things by my own!

Kung fu, that sounds AWESOME!! :D

NF has been so integral in my success, I've tried fitness regimes in the past and I just couldn't stick to them... now to know you're working hard with your fellow rebels, it's a total game changer.

WELCOME!! :)

Thanks, you two :D

jaex, I do Hung Gar style ^^

I'm nervous, I just received the last "introduction email" from Nerd Fitness and am really considering entering and paying the Academy. I'm probably going to do an Study Exchange for 6months to 1year in France (i'm from Brazil) and I want to evolve a LOT before I go, and continue practicing, training and exercising there :D

Hung Gar?  Sweet!  My instructor has been showing me a bit of Hung Gar as I am moving in the summer to a city where Northern Shaolin, so I am getting an education on other styles.  How long have you been practicing Hung Gar?

And the study abroad sounds amazing!  Wish you the best of luck getting in tip-top shape before you go!

Very nice!

So, I'm a beginner, have been practicing for only 5 months, but I've already felt the good things it brought me!

Discipline, health, defense skills (I'm still working on the other aspects of a fight xD), friendship (as the place where I practice is kind of a big family), and of course the physic parte (little bit of more endurance, strenght, agility).

I'm in a little bit trouble in creating a routine (exercises + nutrition). I mean, i'm not alone. I have a gym near by, where I exercise with a really nice and prepared personal (who knows what i practice elsewhere, and my objectives and all). But I feel that I should add something for myself as I can only train with him 2x/week for 1h each time.

The nutrition part, I'm starting to cover now.

I'm a little bit lost with the Challenges thing, to be honest! Not the mechanism, but really how to choose one and divide tasks and all.

Hope you like other styles of Kung Fu. What style were you into before? Wing chun? Another one? Good luck to you also!

I have only been practicing Northern Shaolin (well other than the year of Tae Kwon Do I did over a decade ago), but I look forward to trying out other styles.

As for the Challenges thing, we do 6-week Challenges (over here).  We just started week 3 but I'm sure you can jump in and do a shortened challenge; ain't nobody gonna be mad that you want to be healthy  :peaceful:

Basically for 6 weeks you create smaller missions/goals/whatever which are things you want to do for the six weeks - the goal here is to build good habits.  For example, I might suggest a goal for this challenge to be Work out twice a week outside of Kung Fu class or Make one new, healthy recipe a weekMore information can be found here

Hope that helps!
