I found (or rather was shown) NerdFitness a while ago, but haven't really delved into it until recently. I've trained in various martial arts for almost 6 years now, but at 5'9" and almost 200 lbs, I've grown tired of my extra fat keeping me from looking as badass as I often feel, and even more tired of it keeping me from being as badass as I could often think I could be. Time to take charge.

Sorry for the late response. The short answer to your question would be "not as well as it might be, but not nearly as bad as it could be." Life drastically slowed my progress, but also opened up some interesting new opportunities. But I'm ready to get back on track, and I'll get my challenge thread up soon. There will be more details there if you are so inclined. I don't mean to be vague, but it is a bit of a tale. How are you doing? I checked out your posts really quick and it seemed like you building up some serious momentum. If you keep that up, your challenge should be no problem.

I'm nervous for my first challenge! I'm sure it's easy to fizzle out at the beginning. Looks like you're an old pro by now?

Captain Hammer: Have I seen you at the gym?

Billy: [smiles] At the gym!

Captain Hammer: [to himself] I don't go to the gym, I'm just naturally like this...

If only I were. I've only completed the one, so we're in roughly the same spot. From what I've seen though, as long as you can push through a week or so, the beginning's not too bad. Most people are fresh and motivated at the beginning and every bit of progress feels like a victory. The problem seems to be the middle where people start to feel like they're slowing down or fall into the "I've been doing well with this lately, maybe I'll take it easy today" trap. Not that easing up is always a bad thing, but excuses tend to multiply. I'm sure you'll do great, though. And we're all here to help each other stay on track.
