[Archon] loses 10 lbs! - WOOT

I haven't even gotten strict with starting my first 6-week challenge yet.

 

Timeline: 

~New Year's 2015 I know I was ~277 lbs

~1st week of May 2015 I discover NF and start researching like mad (read like 50 articles by Steve)

~2nd week of May 2015 I start slowly changing my diet to Paleo and casually exercising (like going on a 2 mile walk)

~3rd week of May 2015 I join the mailing list & forums. I weigh myself for the 1st time in a long time at 271.4

~4th week of May 2015 I am out of town the whole week, working hard, and being conscious of what I am eating.

~1st week of June 2015 I am now regularly doing strength workouts (BBWW x3 times per week, 1 rep).  Weighed myself at 265.4.

 

Over 10 lbs lost from the start of the year (probably closer to 12-13), and I have only just started improving my life within the past month.  Looking forward to rocking this challenge and shedding another 10 lbs.  Since I have been slowly improving my habbits though, I have lost 6 lbs in the past 2 weeks.  SO MANY WOOT!

 

My current weight is 264.4 (as of last night before I measured by body fat with omron).  It put me at 30.7% body fat, or approximately 81.2 lbs of fat to kill.  That means if I lost all the fat it currently is estimating I have, I would weigh ~183.2 lbs (assuming I don't gain or lose any muscle).  So if I weighed 200 lbs, I would have ~17 lbs of fat, or ~8.5% body fat % (again, assuming no change in muscle).  At 220 lbs I would have 37 lbs of fat, or ~16.8%.  At 240 lbs I would have 57 lbs of fat, or ~23.75%.  At 260 I would have around 77 lbs of fat, or 29.6%.

 

Does my maths there seem correctish?  I know those are estimates, but it gives me an idea of what my progression might/could look like.  I know my muscle mass could flutuate, but the above numbers are good estimates.

 

If I can continue to lose ~10 lbs a month (~2.5 lbs of fat a week) for the rest of the year, I could realistically get down to 200-220 by the end of the year, with a body fat % somewhere between 8-17%.  That is a huge improvement from ~31% right now and I am so WOOOOT right now!

~New Years 2015 I was ~277 lbs (maybe I was a bit above that at some point just before or after but that is the closest I can get to a definite start)

May 20 = 271.4 (at this point I had started changing my diet for about 1 week, but had not started regular exercise)

June 1 = 265.4 (down exactly 6 lbs in 2 weeks, having added in exercise with diet)

June 8 = 263.4 (down exactly 2 lbs in 1 week)

June 15 = 259.6 (down 3.8 lbs in 1 week, significantly increased intensity & frequency of workouts)

 

Since I started meassuring regularly 4 weeks ago (I missed 1 weigh in 3 weeks ago), I have been averaging losing 3 lbs a week.  I am not counting calories.  I am simply "Eating when I am hungry" and focusing all my energy on "Eating Clean".  But for the past 2 (almost 3) weeks now I have been getting in 3 strength training workouts per week, with an additional cardio workout on my off days (playing Racquetball with BobbyBear).

 

So since the beginning of the year I have lost 17.4 lbs.  However, I know for a fact that 11.8 of those lbs have come off in the past 4 weeks.  The week of June 8th, I lost a lot of weight, and I attribute that to approximately doubling the intensity & frequency of my workouts (I am now pushing myself hard, regularly).  When I started 4 weeks ago, I had a hard time getting through 1 set of the BBWW, but I have built myself up already to doing 3 sets of the full routine.

 

Weight loss goal:  From 277 on 1/1/15 to 217 on 1/1/16 (or down to 16% BF)

Current Weight: 259.6 on 6/15 (BF at 29.7%, down from 33%), -17.4 of 60

Congratulations.  Yes your math is correct.  As you get closer and closer to ~15% body fat you will find that your body will resist more and the deficit won't line up with weight loss (at least that's how it was in my case).  Once you hit 13% it gets even worse progressively all the way down to ~10%.  Either way, keep up the great work.
