Had my dream job interview yesterday

Recommended Posts

I applied for a government job a while back, one that really meshes well with my skills and abilities.  It's really competitive though, with thousands of applicants for each open position, and they've already eliminated probably 90% or more.  I did one of the final interviews yesterday, and I feel like I did pretty well at it.  I should learn in the next couple of weeks if they are interested in giving me an offer.

I'm not super excited about my performance, but I think it was pretty solid- a few mistakes, a few things I should have talked about but didn't, etc.  It's over now and I'm not stressed about it, so cross your fingers for me.

Fingers crossed, good luck!

Just to update:  I got rejected, but I'm pretty okay with it.  I'm a bit relieved, actually.  I've been straddling the fence on two separate career path options for a couple of years now, and I can finally mostly focus on one.  I have two or three more opportunities possible in the first field if they come up soon, but the competition and pressure for those are significantly lower.  If I don't get notified of further action on those soon I'm going to finish my master's in cybersecurity and get a non-government job where I can actually make some money.

And I just got notified that same organization wants to interview me for a different position- I may not like the position as much, but it might be good enough.  Maybe it will be much better, I don't know.
