Hi all,

I joined early this year and like a lot of people, I dipped my toe into the waters of getting fit, then forgot all about it and reverted to being even unhealthier than I was before.  I was given a promotion at the beginning of the year, what should have been an amazing change of life was super-stressful and affecting me a whole lot more than I realised.  I have let myself slip into a life that I'm not comfortable with anymore.

 

I recently went on a holiday and was so concerned with fitting into the economy seat next to my fiance that I had anxiety for 3 days.  Enough is enough.  I am here to take on a new lifestyle, gain a new mindset and take charge of my life and body.  I am working my way through the mindset module and trying to make the healthy choices I need.  

 

I believe I'm in the right place to make this change and I have assembled a team of superheroes to motivate me and provide support.  Motivators Assemble!

 

I am currently 175 kilos (385 pounds) and this is my origin story.

Welcome! Have you headed over to the challenge thread and explored a bit? Lots of people who are taking the journey with you now and lots of those who started where you are and changed- valuable people to find as they can not only encourage, but give you advice having been in similar situations!

I've had a bit of a look at everything.  It's a little overwhelming so I decided to focus on one thing at a time.  I am going to convince my partner to do it with me and I'm getting my head around the mindset change.  I will do one of the challenges and I am committing myself to talking to people and engaging with the right sort of people to keep me on track.  (I had to self-edit this post multiple times to take out "I will try to do this and I plan to that".  All, I will do and I am going to do from now on.)

 

Overall goal wise, I want to lose weight, my first goal is to get to 149 kilos (328 pounds), then I can use my Wii Fit  :)  It's all downhill from here.  

I also want to be able to run, I have installed a treadmill desk at work and I'm planning to walk for at least 1 hour, 4 times a week for the next 2 weeks then increase it.  I will eventually be able to go for runs at home as well.
