Evening folks!

It's been some time since I last posted on here. Around two months, right? Yeah. I used to go by the name Mandrill, but I think it's time I.. well, evolved.

Now, I know I'm posting in the respawn point, but here's the thing; the last two months were probably the most focused I've ever been!

I've made leaps and strides in my gymnastics! I've now mastered the front flip, the back-flip, the front handspring and the back-flick; four moves that I really wanted to learn! I'm working on tying them all together but I'm really happy with the progress I made. I've also mastered the ring muscle-up, the back lever and the straddle front lever and I'm real close to getting my ring handstand.. and even more, recently I performed my first giant on the high-bar! Feels sweet, seriously.

I also started boxing; that's been one hell of a journey! I came into boxing from other sports and a pretty good level of fitness but daym, boxing kicks my ass all the time. I still remember getting destroyed at my first sparring session but I'm slowly getting used to it. :D

Now, that's the physical side of things. The mental side has been a little.. lukewarm.

On one hand I've recently rekindled my love of reading. I used to love reading but I kinda dropped the habit. I've been broadening my horizons and reading all sorts of different material, which has opened my mind a lot. I've also really improved at chess and I'm putting time into learning languages and programming.

Now for the bad news. I took some exams a few months back and they.. didn't go well. Out of the three subjects I focused on, I needed to get the highest mark in Physics..

..and of the three, I got the lowest in Physics.

Thus ends my ideas of studying physics at university. However, my maths grades were on point! Thanks to them, I ended up getting into a maths degree instead! After some real, honest introspection it hit me that physics, whilst being something I was interested in, wasn't something I where my strengths lay. I enjoyed learning about the mathematical theory behind physics out of everything and I always generally enjoyed my maths classes more than the physics classes at school. Overall, whilst it's a disappointment that I didn't get into physics, I think it turned out for the best.

It's unbelievably surprising, though. When I was a kid my teachers would rag on me for being really inattentive and unacademic and my maths teachers recommended that I do not study maths any further.. and now I'm doing a maths degree. O_O

The university that I'm heading to has a boxing club, a closeby gymnastics facility and a famous judo club! I'll be pretty damn happy there, lemme tell you. Grappling sounds awesome, I've wanted to try it for a while. ^^

TL;DR:

What?

MANDRILL is evolving!

...

Congratulations! Your MANDRILL evolved into STONEMONKEY!

Despite not logging on here I really feel like I've gone through some serious development in my time away. Here's to more development in the future! :D
