Wednesday Oct. 7, 2015

 

*Workout

Beginner Body Weight workout 1 rep

Highland Dance class!  1 hour

Scottish Country dance class! 2 hours

Total miles today:  4.37

 

I learned today that 3 hours of dance class was a little too much for me right now.  Solution: switch Highland dance to Tuesday instead.  Bonus to that: I will get to dance for an hour and a half vs. just an hour

 

 

*Food

1 cup coffee with cream

5 cups tea (1 black, 2 green, 1 semi-green, 1 herbal)

8 cups water

 

2 pieces of bacon

2 egg scramble (with milk, salt, pepper and cheese)

1 baked chicken breast (cooked in olive oil with salt and pepper)

1 cup pistachios

*Workout:

Zombie run S1, Ep 20 Listen In - at a walking pace today due to soreness.

Total Miles including Zombies: 5.20

 

I am really sore from yesterday, so getting out wasn't awesome, but I did it anyway.  Also, in a personal victory, I made my hubby a goodie bag of gummy candies and didn't sample any of them ... even though they looked very tasty.

 

*Food

1 cup coffee with cream

3 cups tea (black)

8 cups water

 

2 slices gf veggie pesto pizza (pesto, spinach, onions, banana peppers, artichoke, sun dried tomato, cheese)

1 serving chicken and broccoli stir fry (chicken, broccoli, and olive oil)

1 cup pistachios

Workout:

Walking and house cleaning.  Total miles: 4.5

 

Food:

8 cups water

1 cup coffee with cream

1 double double

1 cup green tea

 

1 caramilk bar

1 box sweet tarts

1 serving gf pasta with cheese

1 serving catcus cut potatoes

 

Of note, I realized that the catucs cuts and the pasta which I used to love were too salty.  I spent the rest of the night having a really horrible case of indigestion and feeling horrible.  So I won't be having those again.  Oh well, not a huge loss.  There are other more tasty things that I could be eating :)

 

Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015 (Canadian Thanksgiving)

 

Workout:

Walk with mom

Total miles: 5

 

Food:

8 cups water

5 cups tea

1 cup coffee with cream

 

1 kit kat bar

1/2 green black salted chocolate bar

2 pieces bacon

2 eggs scrambled with milk and salt and pepper

2 servings hashbrowns with cheese

1 serving turkey

1 serving mashed white and sweet potatoes

1 serving cranberry sauce

1 serving turkey gravy

1 serving slow cooker crustless apple cobbler with homemade whipped cream

 

My mom and I tried to make Thanksgiving as healthy as possible and it turned out really well.  Neither of us feel overstuffed or ill.  Much better than last night's dinner.  So that's a huge bonus.

crustless apple crisp with whipped cream

One week of logs in the books and things are starting to look up.  Generally I'm starting to feel better.  My size 14 pants are feeling a lot looser which is always a bonus.

 

This week, I want to increase to 2 reps of body weight workout and dance every dance at the social on Saturday.

Today was just a day of fail workout wise.  Creative wise, it was awesome, but workout wise, I failed.  I had a volunteer event which I'd organized so I had to attend, which honestly didn't help my mood and didn't mae me want to do anything about working out.  Plus, I missed dance class due to the event, which made me grumpy.

After throwing a pity party for myself last night, I decided to make up for the miles I didn't walk yesterday and get right back on the proverbial horse.

 

Workout:

Zombie Run, S1 Ep 22 Zombie Horde

Hike to my fav historical site from my house and back ... after getting lost on a trail which I thought would take me back home, but instead ninja looped back on itself and took me about 3 miles in the opposit direction.

Total miles: 13.44

 

Food:

1 cup coffee with cream

5 cups tea

8 cups water

 

1 serving roasted potatoes with cheese

1 piece pear upside down cake - which made me feel ill afterward

Workout:

DANCE!!!!  I went to the local Harvest Social for the Scottish Country dance club and I danced all but one dance ... and that was because the sets were complete and there weren't enough of us to make another set.  We started dancing at 7:30 and finished at 11:30!  It was sooooo much fun.  And everyone was really nice - which is something that most of the people in the new town have not been.  So that was a bonus.

Total miles today (mosty through dance): 5.11

1 cup homemade slow cooker awesome chicken soup that was ready when I came home from the dance *high five to myself for remembering to turn it on*

Dance practice: 15 min (dancing in my kitchen with one of my new leg warmers ... I'm still knitting the other one)

Not entirely the day I planned, but it turned out pretty awesome.  I decided to get out of the house and explore the area more and ended up learning a ton: like how to harvest sea salt and that wandering and talking to locals is pretty awesome for the soul.  I also spent a lot of time knitting as I'm trying to finish my other leg warmer by tomorrow.

All the dance! (ok, 1 hour of highland and 2 hours of Scottish Country)

pumpkin lifting - getting 3 pumpkins is an awesome idea.  Picking said pumpkins was an awesome idea, but carrying them from the field to the market was interesting.  All together, they weighed 26 lbs and I could actually lift all of them, it was just awkward due to size of the pumpkins vs size of me.

1 serving garlic pork with bean sprouts

4 egg scramble that didn't end up scrambling, so it was more like fried eggs with salt and pepper and butter

Dance: Scottish Country Dance ball.  I wore my wedding dress as a ball gown (after it was shortened and had straps added) and it fit better than it did when I got married, so that's pretty neat)

Well after having some internet troubles and traveling, I'm back and posting again.

 

Just a bit of yayness: I am solidly back into a size 12!!!  Also, I fit a size medium in unizex and a size large in ladies fitted shirts.  So, progress is happening which makes me happy.  I had to buy a new rain jacket because the one I got as a Christmas present last year is waay too big.  It's a shame, because I liked the color, but better to have something that actually fits.  Oh, and the new jacket is also a size 12 ... and was on clearance for 50% off.  Bonus :D

I tweaked my bad ankle tonight and had to sit out most of dance class with an ice pack :(  I am beyond annoyed right now.  I'll get it checked out at a clinic tomorrow as it's not really bad enough to go to the hospital.  *growl* in general.  Once I find out what the damage is, I'll be able to figure out how to modify my workouts until it heals up again.

I spent a lot of time dealing with medical stuff today.  I had x-rays done on my left ankle and should hopefully know tomorrow what's wrong with it.  The possible candidates are: broken bone (least likely), internal hardware derangement (aka the metal in my foot from the last surgery shifted to where it's not supposed to be), or severe sprain. Right now, I'm routing for a sprain.  So, running and dancing are out of the question until I find out what's going on with my ankle.

 

But, there are other things that I can do until I can get back to running/dancing.  And some self care that I need to do as I got a migraine today ... so tomorrow will be a better day.

 

Workout:

walking/hobbling around to medical appointments

total miles: 2

8 cups water

 

1 bowl chicken soup

1 serving almonds

2 slices paleo cheese crust pizza with jalapenos and pineapple ... not sure why, but it tasted good
