WingedWolf Posted February 9, 2016 Report Share Posted February 9, 2016 Man. How to even start this. I'm not in this for the power. I'm not in this for the achievement. I'm in this, in part, for the hunt. The hunt for my place, for my own sense of self, for my own dreams and spirit and feeling of connection to the world. In part, I'm in this for the flight. For the freedom and ascension that comes with living with your wings unfurled. In part, I'm in this for the strength, and for the sense of capability, and sense of pride, and the way being in my body and feeling the sensation of athleticism and passion that always came after athletics, in the moments when that's been a glorious part of my life. My Big Why is a mix of these things, and of the idea of having a pack, and being the kind of person that would draw my kind of people. But mostly, I'm not going on this adventure with some great and awe inspiring idea in mind, some concept of who or what I want to be or achieve. I'm starting my adventure for a reason that a lot of heroes do. For a girl. Because I'm not unclear. I want to be with her. And I want to show her a world of magic. I want to take her on amazing adventures and romantic escapes. I want to feel confident that I can be there for her, and have the strength that she needs. And that's only going to be possible if I'm in the health of mind and spirit and body to make those sorts of adventures happen, to be patient and empathetic and strong and self-aware. These things do not come from a moment's passing will. They come from a lifestyle in which I can protect her, and be with her. And where she can feel like she is safe and happy with me. It's the strongest motivation I can imagine.
