Wordwar Z! (Word/Time Goal Tracking, with zombies!)

Recommended Posts

Wrong thread earlier :D hence the abrupt mention of 'more' prompts. :)

Originally meant post this here, but I guess Writers guild is relevant too ^-^

Some more prompts from http://thebest404pageever.com/

They're basically gifs with sound, but some of them just..

capture a moment, or an idea.. Some work as the first time we see a character,

or where they ended up, some define a theme..

(The whole site is) pretty much all over the place :P

Oh what I'm rambling for?  :D Better if you take a look yourself:

Viewing this website if you're photosensitive/epileptic probably isn't a good idea. You have been warned.

True that.

I'm done with it, but sorry I cursed it upon you xD

But if you have nowhere to be, and end up in a place like that..

it's a murderous timesink, if you got the time to kill.

Oh look, it's Monday again! ... How did that happen? o_O;

I suppose it's time (once again) for the...

Weekly Zombie/Pirate/Ninja/Vampire-pocalypse!

The challenge results for the week were as follows:

Drop and give me 100!

@UnquietBones has won free of the zombies and heading for the hills with a score of 4/7 for a 100 word a day goal

@Fearkiller wrote four days this week, but just missed the three-in-a-row that would escape zombies and came out with a score of 1/7 for 500 word a day goal.

@Jane Eyre Is My Patronus the ever-writing has yet another perfect score of 7/7 for a 500 word a day goal (I am seriously considering making a Jane Eyre badge! ;))

Couch to 1.667k (30 Days)

@Kelley Gammell is holding strong at day nine...

Writing For The Weekend

@Dagger missed the weekly wordcount for a second time and has fallen to the Vampires! (Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!) :(

Questions and Sidenotes

My ability to be sick continues apace, so no new badge designs for this week (alas).

Badges!

Vampire-Badge-150.jpg

@Dagger has earned the Vampire badge and to escape must now log wordcount/time for at least three consecutive days or meet a weekly/monthly goal (whichever comes first).

1-Month-Zombie-Write-Badge-150.jpgWrite-ALL-the-days-Badge-Color-150.jpg

@Jane Eyre Is My Patron gets a 1 Month Safe badge! and a Write ALL the Words badge for writing every day for four weeks! I am going to have to start inventing new badges for her! ;)

“Do you know where the wicked go after death?"
"They go to hell," was my ready and orthodox answer.
"And what is hell? Can you tell me that?"
"A pit full of fire."
"And should you like to fall into that pit, and to be burning there for ever?"
"No, sir."
"What must you do to avoid it?"
I deliberated a moment: my answer, when it did come was objectionable: "I must keep in good health and not die.”

Sorry for the lack of Monday updates, a Wild Tangent abducted my ability to get anything done recently. So, err, yeah-- I'll try and get it caught up again tonight! :)  (And I am now seriously thinking of giving 'Mulligan' badges for people who have one bad day in the middle of a long streak... *ponders* )

*Cheers for @UnquietBones*

No problems. Take care of yourself!

Eh, I know it shouldn't frustrate me as much as it does, but I hate losing chunks of time like that! *frustrated muttering* Think of all the things I could have done with the time! Rassum-frassum past self and it's sickness. (I really miss the ranting emoji from my other boards, seeing the little animated emoticon was always amusing.)

But on that note, onwards! :D I still have plenty of time left in July to win NaNoWriMo and escape the Zombies (again) and finish making the badges and cheer folks on who are fighting their own woulda-coulda-shoulda wordcounts! ;)

I hate it when that happens! :P  Sometimes I can get it started again by writing all the things that don't happen next, but every so often I end up with this chunk of story that never goes further... I need to make a story prompts book that's more of a stories-started books.

I have recently discovered that, sometimes, when it stops I can... treat it like Sheldon treats a relationship. Pretend it's a crashed computer, and go back to the last point the words were flowing and turn the characters a different... more word-flowing way.

I was feeling guilty that I haven't written recently when I'm the one that started this thread... and then I realized the whole reason I started it was because I was having problems writing daily! ;) So at least I'm consistent!

...And I just realized I didn't post the updates for 7/18 (doh). I'll get those done tomorrow and I apologize for the oversight.

On that note: How is everyone doing?? :D:D

I live! ...Although my posting indicates otherwise. :P

Right now I'm fighting with acute embarrassment for vanishing, so while I'd love to say I'll have this thread all caught up tomorrow... might be best if I just promise to log in and see where things go from there. :chargrined:

I did write today (woot!) but it wasn't something that I tracked wordcount for. Part of it was throwing together today's Saturday Story Prompts (I forgot I hadn't pre-scheduled August, doh!) and part of it was formatting the rough draft of Inheritance for posting on the blog. I also worked on gathering the prompts up for the 2016 yearly collection (I'd been neglecting that) and started organizing things so I can get the rest of the year pre-scheduled. Little steps, little steps...

I hope everyone else is doing well (or at least better than me! ^_~;)

Alrighty, the spreadsheet has been updated so the tracking extends until September. I have grand plans to come back in a little bit and start catching up on the badges, but I'm trying to chop things down into little tiny goals so they are easy to accomplish. ...And on that note, time for a short word sprint! :)

Alrighty... it's that time again! :D Well, okay, it's been that time for a few weeks now, but we're going to pick that up and put it in the 'regrets don't change the past' bucket and move on. So happy thoughts, fairy dust and let's fly! :)

Weekly Zombie/Pirate/Ninja/Vampire-pocalypse!

The challenge results for the week were as follows:

Drop and give me 100!

@UnquietBones is still rocking it with the Zombies (curses!) with a score of 2/7 for a 100 word a day goal.

@Jane Eyre Is My Patronus is keeping the Pirates firmly in her wake with a score of 5/7 for a 500 word a day goal!

@Fearkiller looks to be taking a bit of a break, so I'm counting them as on hold for now.

Couch to 1.667k (30 Days)

@Kelley Gammell is now up at day 18 and is over halfway to the finish line! (Gogogo!)

Writing For The Weekend

@Dagger is kicking butt and taking names with a score of 2,379/300! Looks like those poor Vampires are going to go hungry for a while...

Questions and Sidenotes

I don't have any new badges for folks this week, but there is a giant pile of sketches waiting to be formatted on my art desk. With luck, I'll have something new to show you next Monday. *crosses fingers* I hope everyone has been doing well and I apologize for ninja'ing into the shadows for a bit there. But alls well that ends well, so happy wordcount'ing to all! :D
