  1. I was in the army in SIGINT for 7 1/2 years and spent 1 of those years in Korea and 1 year in Iraq. Even though I was a fobbit, I still feel like I left a part of myself over there. :/
  2. Main Goal(weight): 53.3% Goal 1(water): 45.2% Goal 2(run): 0% Goal 3(sit up): 0% Life Goal(college): ??? I lost 8 out of 15 pounds so far despite a slow first week which means I'm over halfway there. With goal 1, out of the 5 days I missed I drank 4, 6, 2, 6, 6 glasses of water respectively. Which is still overall MUCH better than what I was doing before and overall great progress towards my goal. I haven't run at all yet this challenge because I had a foot infection earlier and I don't have running shoes(and my mom yelled at me when I suggested I would run on the treadmill barefoot). Goal 3 is my own laziness. I really need to do more situps since I haven't done any since the challenge started. My life goal is going so-so. I contacted my academic advisor and I'm waiting to hear back about him removing my hold. I'm going to hold off on allocating stat points until the end because I really don't like working with decimals.
  3. On the down side, I have had about two days every week where I would only drink about six 8 oz glasses of water a day. I'm still not sure how to count water that serves as a medium for taking vitamins/protein shakes/etc. On the plus side, I am down 8 lbs since I started.
  4. I had one night that was bad for water but otherwise the rest of the week has been good. I suffered some kind of foot infection or something that kept me from starting running, but I'm over it now so hopefully I can start on Monday. How is your challenge going?
  5. My first week went reasonably well with water. One day I only drank 4 glasses of water because SCAG(Sword Coast Adventurers Guide) just came out and that sidetracked me greatly. Another day I met my 8 glass requirement but it was like a weird 36 hour day with a 2 hour nap sometime in there, but I'm counting it in my favor. Today I've been awake for almost 6 hours and am likely to go back to bed so I probably won't count today as a day since it will mostly consist of sleeping to make up for my sleep debt. I just have to make sure I start running/lifting again starting tomorrow. I just really have to get back into the running/lifting part again. It's harder since my sleep schedule is so messed up and the hours I can actually work out are pretty narrow(since other people in my house have a normal sleep schedule). :/
  6. Hey everyone! I have posted on here before but that was over a year ago at least and possibly close to two years. The monsters known as depression, anxiety, and hopelessness have pretty much drained me back down to nothing, so I think I'm going to make a fresh start now that I've found new motivation after my long fall. Main Goal: Weight loss (15 lbs) (+1 DEX +1 CHA) I am 265 lbs and I really really want to get back down to the 170s eventually. For this first challenge I will set my goal at 15 lbs. Goal 1: Drink eight glasses of water a day (+1 CON +1 WIS) Right now I drink way too much coffee and not enough water. I know that this definitely doesn't help things as far as losing weight is concerned. I'm not going to completely get away from coffee yet, but I'm going to at least offset it by drinking enough water each day. Goal 2: Run a 21:42 two mile on the treadmill (+2 STA) I started getting back into cardio a little bit ago and this is one of my main goals at the moment. Goal 3: Do 42 sit ups in two minutes (+1 DEX +1 STR) I lost a lot of my core strength when I just stopped caring about my own physical fitness. I want to get that back. Life Goal: Get my classes scheduled and be ready to go back to college (+2 WIS) Currently I am on break from college while waiting for my last semester to start back up. I need to make sure that everything is in order so I can go back up to college in January without any major issues. The big thing is making sure I have my class spots absolutely locked into place and that I have a guaranteed place to live at when I go back up there. Motivation: I want to go back into the army The last time I felt like I had any real purpose in life was when I was in the military(and especially when I was deployed to Iraq). Since then my life has just been me trying to get by. I dread working for some bourgeoisie pig where I grovel to some corporate fat cat just so I can have the privilege of letting them take a large portion of the fruits of my labor. If I'm going to have to deal with some jerk bossing me around then I want it to at least save lives and provide for the public good instead of so some dbag can buy his fifth yacht.

    Goal 1: Drink eight 8 ounce glasses of water a day: A Great success! What more can I say besides these challenges keeping me honest help keep me hydrated and healthier. +3 CON Goal 2: Run on the treadmill for at least 2 hours a week: D I got way too lax on this. I'm still afraid of losing weight. +1 DEX Goal 3: Sleep more: A Some weeks I still felt dissatisfied with only 50 hours but this past 6 weeks were waaaaaay better than so many previous weeks. +3 WIS +1 CHA Personal Goal: Get more photogenic: A I feel so much better about taking my picture now! I took a variety of pictures for all three and I like all three of them. This challenge made me remember just how important good lighting is. +1 WIS +3 CHA LEVEL UP! Level 4 ---> 5 STR 6 DEX 3 ---> 4 STA 11 CON 8 ---> 11 WIS 13 ---> 17 CHA 10 ---> 14

    My final weigh in is 188.8 and I did poorly on my running but most of my other goals are perfect or near perfect! Also here is my final picture for my challenge that I took on Saturday but didn't get a chance to post until today.

    I wasn't able to exercise as much as I wanted to, but all my other goals were met. My weekly weigh in will be done tomorrow since I don't have to get up early for class.

    I went for long strenuous walks outside, but I will count them even though they weren't on the treadmill. The important part is I did the exercise. I also managed to meet my sleep goals for the last week, but I will have to do my weight tomorrow.

    I've been getting A LOT of sleep over the past few days. I think it's a mix of recovering from this illness and doing my injection recently. Puberty can take it out of you.

    So this entire past week I was really sick and unable to do any time on the treadmill. My other goals were reached, but stepping on the treadmill would have resulted in me losing what little I was able to keep down so not getting on the treadmill was really no fault of my own. I won't count it for me but I won't count it against me either. Also I am down to 180.0!

    My throat is sore, my nose is stuffed up, and I have a really bad cough. I am going to make an exception on the liquids while I am sick since everywhere seems to recommend drinking orange juice instead of water for a sore throat.

    My treadmill goal didn't get reached due to a mix of procrastination and then not bringing work out clothes when I went home for the weekend. However I did reach my other goals, I will weigh myself Wednesday morning(when I don't have to get up early) and I took a picture that I kinda liked without ducklips.
  19. I think if more people were openly bi then I probably would have come out at a much younger age than 28. Speaking of bi invisibility, my own dad was bi but I never knew it because I only ever saw him in straight relationships(and also because he was a pretty hardcore conservative who called me "girly boy" and "f*gula" growing up).

    Thank you! Practicing would definitely help me a lot. I usually only take pictures when I'm bored or after clothes shopping. However this upcoming week I should have plenty of time since it's finals followed by summer break. Today I got 6 hours of sleep which is actually good for a traveling day followed by 2 hours on the train. I forgot my workout clothes back at my apartment so I will need to jump on the treadmill in either pajamas or jeans.

    I had a great nap yesterday and I have been doing alright overall on sleep and great on the water intake. I just need to get around to some pictures soon.

  23. I really like your exploring goal. I live in my state's capitol as well(well technically east of the capitol) and I am guilty of spending too much time online and not enough seeing the sights.
  24. Congratulations on a good first week. It can be hard changing things up especially when it comes to losing weight(I used to be about 230 lbs). Don't let missing a goal occasionally get you down.
  25. Those are great goals. I'm guilty of doing nothing but cardio and not touching any weights so maybe I should start working on body weight exercises next challenge. How is the planning for a family fun day going?
