  1. Just dropped in to say hi to our current fearless Rope Jumper leader! Great job!!!! I am even more impressed with your numbers now that I read in your bio that you recently recovered form torn tendons in ankle and foot. Keep it up!
  2. Glad to see you are getting started again. I guess that means you are feeling better? Lost 9kg? And there was no fat before? I am thinking you need to eat more and do some weight training! NerdFitness is just the right place for you!
  3. Awesome on all 3 comments! Do lots of skipping! Great job on the pushups! Wishing you good technique and lots of strength for the pull-ups!
  4. 6000 jumps! Well done! Did you know you are 5th overall for all the participants in Battle 2? And of course TOP DRUID! Way to go! Keep it up... we only need another 800-900 jumps to get ahead of the Rangers and be top ranked guild again!
  5. Welcome! Every new Druid is a precious addition to our little Guild! I hope you will feel at home here... Just because we are 2.5 weeks into the challenge doesnt mean you can't join in. Even if not officially registered you can set a couple of goals for the next 3 weeks and join in the fun.
  6. Not likely, we got lucky last time... mobility is what we do, well yoga! This time its a bit harder... I would say you guys are in with a very good chance to make it all the way - much more versatile set of skills than what we have. There is every chance that our Guilds will face off again before the challenge is over!
  7. Bonjour! Well actually Bonsoir where we are! You are a skipping machine! I am so incredibly impressed... Great work! Glad its not Druids vs Assassins on this one!
  8. Just wanted to say that most people struggle with being consistent... the important thing is to not beat yourself up every time you fail to meet your own expectations. Instead spend that energy getting up and getting going again! I can not tell you how many times I've had to pick myself up from failing at another plan to get fit/organised/loose weight. What I have learned is that if I just keep picking myself up and trying again... I get a little better each time! In the wise words of Tich Nhat Hanh: "Smile, breathe and go slowly." ... do this and you will surprise yourself!

    Make It So!

Enjoy the holiday! Looks like you prepared well for it. And let me tell you, it is perfectly fine to be giddy about it... you deserve it!!! In my humble opinion I think teachers and any child care provider is seriously under payed. I am really glad you get to have a holiday now! I am just now organizing our Christmas holiday and I am so excited I can barely sit still. We had our first holiday post becoming parents of 2 children 2 months ago and it was a good trial run (I didnt actually want to go on holiday then, it was all too hard to organise and I felt like I didnt deserve a holiday). Now that I am more active and actually getting things done... I know I totally deserve a holiday. What I am trying to say in a clumsy way, is that because we are working on ourselves, the holidays feel so much better... and we totally deserve them. So enjoy yourself, relax and come back stronger and more motivated!
  10. Woohoo about the presentation! Well done! I am not surprised at all. Being positive all the time is incredibly hard. One of the few times I did any of the games that goes around on Facebook was a challenge to post something positive that I was thankful about for every day for 30 days. By day 30 I had nothing left... I was thankful the challenge was over! I do however try to see the positive side on most things! Your skipping is inspiring! Keep it up!!!!
  11. Ooops, look what I got myself into! I wont be in the office for the next 2 days... but will go for a walk just to make up for it! Those are excellent reasons to walk, I used to make my calls while walking in the car park too. Will have to make it a habit again! I had to laugh when you said you fell asleep while meditating, I have the exact same issue.
  12. At some stage it will become mine if I keep going the way I am going... When I saw it I thought, thats not so hard... so I tried it and promptly fell on my face. Gotta remember baby steps. It is motivating to know you struggled with it and are now able to do it! Because your non challenge news are so absolutely awesome you are forgiven for the no decluttering! But only this once... I am watching you! And let me just tell you, my desktop is visible and ready for the big declutter about to take place tomorrow! Just dont look under my desk! It is a huge compliment that you got offered that job. And even better it sounds like its an excellent opportunity that aligns perfectly with what you want to be doing. Thats wonderful! I am very happy for you!
  13. I rephrase my comment to "at the start of your day", how's that? Sounds like a lot of fun to be had this week. Enjoy! ... and keep jumping... right after your treadmill of course!

Sounds like you have a good plan! Also wanted to say if you are able to not completely loose sight of your goals while traveling, you are doing really well towards changing your lifestyle to a more healthy one!
  15. Thats excellent!!!! I had to look up what crow was when I saw it on your goals... I am really impressed! Great progress!

Definetely, I recommend taking a jump rope and doing only that for your whole trip. Also solves the eating issue... at least in terms of calories, its supposed to be really good for fat burning!

Great workout! With levels too, for those of us just starting. I'll need to keep it in mind for when we travel over Christmas! Food and drink... I agree it is much harder. Obviously there is careful selection of the food you order. It isnt always possible to avoid junk while traveling, so what I do is stick to only drinking water (I even avoid juices as they are usually processed rather than natural), try to order the healthiest option and if not possible eat a smaller portion (contrary to popular belief, you do not need to finish everything on your plate). Plus take healthy snacks to stop yourself from getting sweets/chips! If you are doing lots of walking, count it! Anything over and above your normal daily activity should count in my book. A pedometer or if you have a smart phone that has a GPS, you can get a free app to track your miles (thats what I've done now). Or even look up google maps and check manually how much you walked.
  18. Great job with your first 2 weeks! Keep it up! Well done on 7/14 days! I am impressed you are doing it first thing in the morning... Thats just gives you a great start to the day. Wasnt the mobility challenge fun?
  19. Maybe you stayed the same weight because you are concerned Dwarfthrower is going to come and throw you around ?!?!? You know what? Recognizing that you are not living/content in the present because you have so much fun and exciting stuff going on is pretty impressive. Its so easy to get caught up in the good stuff that we fail to recognize how much chaos it brings into our lives. Great job! You can do this!
  20. I think you are doing great. Well done on catching yourself on the posture and remembering to do mental exercises, such things are actually harder that the exercise and food which is much more tangible! Keep it up!
  21. Couscous and salmon sounds really yummy. Its so hard to stay good when everyone else is eating pizza and the like... Well done! I dont know if I would be that strong... I am really glad that you are feeling more positive. Remember that life is made of ups and downs and everyone experiences them... so its only natural that you may feel less positive in a few days, just remember to keep doing what you are doing and you will soon feel positive again! This is not my theory, I learned that from a therapist and its really helped me! Good luck for Wednesday!
  22. Sometimes no news is good news. Hang in there regarding the interviews. And of course keep looking for other opportunities! Hope your nerve pain goes away quickly. The mobility work challenge was fantastic!
  23. I am so happy that you decided to jump in. Your goals look well thought out and defined... also achievable! Will you really park as far away as possible? Even though I know that every little bit counts and I tell myself this everyday, I am always in a hurry to get to the office... if you do it, then I shall do it to! And if I happen to be in a hurry... well, I'll just have to walk faster. Great start on the monday too. Thats the right attitude!
  24. I think you can always participate! Even if you can't log your results towards the guilds final total, the main point is the participation... it is fun for you, you get the benefits from the extra activity and it motivates the rest of us! The more the merrier... specially in our little group. Also, we have 4 weeks left of the challenge, there is no reason why you can't set yourself some goals and work towards them. If you post, we will cheer you on!
