  1. I tried this once before and didn't get very far. So, this time, I'm going to finish the 6 week challenge! Main Quest: Build muscle, lose fat, drop one dress size (to an 8). This is so I can fit back in my tri suit and complete 2 half-ironman races in 2015, which I cannot do without building up my muscle. Quest 1: Do a strength workout at least 3x a week. A=3+ workouts; B=2 workouts; C=1 workout; F=0 workouts Quest 2: Bike, run, swim at least 1-2x a week each. For 2 weeks, goal will be to just get moving again. Oct. 1 I will start training. A=2+ workouts each; B=4-5 workouts total; C=3 workouts total; D=2 workouts total F=0-1 workout total Quest 3: Eat healthy 6 days a week (1 cheat day). Concentrate on lean proteins, good fats, vegies/fruits, complex carbs. A=6 days; B=5 days; C=4 days; D=3 days; F=2 or less days Life Quest: More Productive 1. Start each day with daily action list 2. Complete at least 3 key tasks each day 3. Finish the week with a weekly review Will add my measurements later! I'm also reading a book about Mindsets because I have a very negative one right now!!
  2. Had to deal with a bad sinus infection last week. Put me way behind. Started trying to figure out why I have had endless series of minor illnesses and aches/pains lately(unusual for me!) . Maybe I have been trying to do too much too fast. Now I'm behind on my tri training, enough that I can't just pick it up where I'm supposed to be now. Trying to figure out what to do.
  3. And I just walked past a pastry rack (I rarely just walk by) thinking that I'm not going to ruin my success by eating a crappy pastry! Usually I start failing on my first day. That's why I am so happy I got through day 1.
  4. Couldn't wait to post today. Yesterday, I had a splitting headache all day (decided not to even try for my social interaction goal!). I went home, took sinus medicine and took a nap, fully intending to blow off my swim practice I had planned. I woke up and had a major battle with myself. I really didn't want to get out of bed and go swim. Came close to losing the battle. But, I got up, went to the pool and completed my entire workout. I even swam better than last week. Got some stretching in as well. This made a world of difference in how I felt this morning. I feel more confident because I won that battle last night. And, my headache hasn't come back! I'm more than ready for today.
  5. Good to know that it picks up. It's a little slow at the beginning but I didn't really want to skip parts!
  6. I like your goals! I'm also trying to work on a spreadsheet to track my goals.
  7. I like how you're increasing your workout time as you go along. Good luck with your goals!
  8. I'm in two Ranger accountability groups. Signed up for a newbie and then saw an over 50 one that I liked. My problem - It's taking forever to scroll through and find the others in my group. Have only found 2 so far. Is there an easier way to search for people?
  9. I enjoyed the essay. There is a mini challenge about meditation. I almost signed up for it. After reading your post, I decided I needed to find out a little more about meditation and exactly what I'm supposed to be doing!
  10. Love your cumulative goals! Good luck with them!
  11. I started a challenge before and never got through the first week! This time I am finishing! Goal #1 Follow my tri training schedule for 6 weeks. I may switch days. I may find a replacement for running, if my tendonitis flares up. If I complete it all, I will get 100%. If I complete half, I will get 50%, etc. Works out that I have my race at the end of the 6 weeks. Goal #2 Do some sort of strength training 3x a week. I am starting with New Rules for Lifting for Woman. I may switch my program as I go along. Key is that I have a definite program to follow and I'm in the gym 3x a week (100%). Goal #3 Do stretching and/or yoga and/or foam rolling 5x a week. My neglect in this area has led to minor nagging injuries. Goal #4 Social Interaction. I am introverted and tend to rush through things without taking the time to reach out to others. This is going to be more difficult to judge but 5x a week I must do something in this area that is a reach and makes me feel uncomfortable. As a start, today I will join the newbie group! Goal #5 I know I'm asking for trouble by going past 4 goals! I have a list of habits (based on Precision Nutrition and Metabolic Regulators) that I want to follow so that I can lose weight and feel better. I will grade myself based on how many of those habits I followed every day. I am trying to lose 5 lb in 6 weeks. My starting weight is 153.5 lb. And, now, to find that newbie group!
