  1. No posting last night...because I was out having fun. One of my friends also just got detailed to Washington DC, and is actually in the same apartment building. We had a nice evening catching up and playing a couple of games of pool. So, yes, that kill my creativity time, but well worth it. I did get my meds in, steps in, and my tracking in place. Had another great day making good food choices. Today went reasonably well too. Another crazy busy day shackled to my desk, but a trip to the grocery got in my steps. I tracked and had a so-so food day. I've done my meds, but am skipping creativity because I have a lingering headache. Tracking: ** Steps: ** Meds: ** Creativity: *
  2. Working on another good day here. I was still super busy (and glued to my desk) today, but I did get my steps in. A friend from LA was in town, so we got together after work and walked to dinner. I tracked everything as I ate today, AND I made great choices at dinner. I took my meds on time, but getting home late didn't leave me anything much for creativity time; I just organized my jewelry-making stuff. But a 4-star day. Tracking: * Steps: * Meds: * Creativity: *
  3. Busy at work today trying to get caught up from my extended tour in CA. I got a lot done, but at the expense of my steps - only 6800! I tracked and ate really well - right on my calorie target. I've taken my meds on time and I'm finally feeling like I'm over the jet lag. I did some creative work; I fixed a bracelet that and come disconnected. I baked up some sweet potatoes and 2 kinds of squash, so I'm prepared for some more good eating. Sooooo Tracking: * Steps: Meds: * Creativity: *
  4. I was still traveling when this challenge started, and then I had a bit of a crash, so I'm a week (and a bit) late starting! Because I've only got about 3 weeks left, I'm doing a repeat. 1. Keep up the tracking, including a mid-day tracking point. 2. Take my medication ON SCHEDULE. Everything works better when I do this. 3. 10k steps a day, bonus for averaging 11k. Shouldn't be hard while I'm doing the office move, but very tricky while I'm visiting my family. 4. Be creative; knit, crochet, make jewelry, go to museums or other sights.
  5. Well, last couple of days in LA, I ran out of steam. I actually ate pretty well and got steps but didn't post. Came back and worked 2 days and just folded. I'm back on point today tracking but a little short on steps. Time to set up for next challenge. Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
  6. Well, the move is going ridiculously well. We actually got the network up and running an hour ahead of schedule, and then finished setting up the printers and all of the workstations before we bagged it for the day. My side-kick is going to fly out early and hopefully miss the storm brewing on the plains. I'm taking tomorrow off & have planned a trip to an arboretum tomorrow. I tracked again today, and just took my meds. I did a lot of crawling, bending, and stretching, but only got 13k steps. So a good day all around. Tracking: * Medications: * Steps: *
  7. My office move has started. Most of today was spent getting organized. Then at 2PM, we shut the LAN/WAN down so we could start moving the equipment. Anyone who's ever moved equipment out of one rack and into another knows what kind of fun I'm talking about here. Fortunately, we're only moving from 1 floor to another within the building which really cuts the walking down. The result is that I only got 16k steps in. Here's the part I'm most proud of though - I tracked everything today. I've got the last of my meds sitting next to me, so that should go well. Tracking: * Medications: * Steps: *
  8. Well, I dropped off for a few days, but I'm back. Lots of insanity, running around...San Dimas to Burbank to LA to Santa Ana. I got myself back on track today and ate VERY well. Always easier to do on my own. I'm in Orange County now at a hotel, and ready to start my office move tomorrow. Earlier today, I was in my LA office, catching up and gathering all the equipment and tools I'll need for the office move. Everyone was happy to see me and said I'm looking happy and well. I got my FitBit report for last week and made 77k steps, so a good week. Boy was a sore for a day or so after my BBWW. Looks like I need to do some more of that. With all my scurrying around today, I made 10k steps & I've taken my meds, so I'm rolling again. During my last challenge I tested an alternative FitBit wrist band. Sadly, I cannot recommend this item; it came with two and they were worn out several weeks ago resulting the fitbit coming adrift during sleep. I looked for another to replace them, and found that the company improved the ones I'd bought due to lots of complaints, I'm sure. The new one appears to be a vast improvement and I'll wear it a while and let you know what I think. It was sure good to get a more secure wrist band before I left for my trip.
  9. Today, my niece was bemoaning the cost of a gym membership, so I pulled out the BBWW, and we ran through it. I'm only at about 8k steps, but with a workout, it was a successful day. I did track, and am taking my meds now so all in all a good day. Tracking: * Medications: * Steps: *
  10. Catch up post Wednesday I went and signed the papers for my re-fi down 1/4% and from 30 to 20 years. Then headed off to spend a couple of days with some friends. For some reason, I didn't track which was weird, because I ate very well. I was a little low on steps, but did get my meds in on time. Thursday was my doctor's visit & blood test. The doc was happy because I'm down 5 pounds since my last visit. My friend and I walked to a place for brunch, so I was able to catch up my steps. Then I met my property manager, and we toured my property in Pasadena. Back at my friends for bbq. Now, I started the day off tracking, but gave up with the late/light lunch at Lemonade. So steps, and meds done, but no tracking. Today, I started of with a long walk, then I was back in Pasadena for my nephew's college graduation (summa cum laud!). Boy did I get the steps in. We walked to lunch and back, then I did some shopping with my SIL and niece. 18k steps! Back on track tracking! Meds done! Staying the weekend back at my brother's house, but I left fruit and some things behind, so I should be good. Tracking: * Medications: *** Steps: **
  11. Catching up on my posting now. Things going better than anticipated; my SIL is pre-diabetic, and much of the usual junk in the house has been hidden, and there were apples in the house! Sunday: Spent the morning strolling around Rancho Santa Ana. When we got home, my (2 1/2 yr old) sub-nephew was again a wonderful help; he initiated a game of "running back". He takes his little nerf football, shouts "Running Back!" and heads for the end zone while you chase him. So I got in 10k steps again. I took my meds on time, and tracked. Monday: I didn't make my steps, despite my SN's best efforts. Too much shopping and stuff that took time without enough steps. Meds and tracking worked out. Tuesday (today): I did some chores around the house, and walked to the grocery to get some stuff for dinner, know it was a night everyone would get home late. So we had chicken breast and broccoli. My brother added tater tots and creamed corn, but I didn't eat much of those. I got in 14k steps, and I've tracked everything I'm going to eat. I'll take my meds in a few and be good to go. Tracking: *** Medications: *** Steps: **
  12. Travel day went well. I got in my 10k steps with some help from my 30 month old sub-nephew. I tracked (but of course had to guess on a couple of things). And I took my meds on time. Busy now at my brother's house. Tracking: * Medications: * Steps: *
  13. Well, I've spent the last 2 days getting everything taken care. I'm all packed, and now just trying to chill so I can sleep. Pretty busy at work too, making sure I had everything good to go. I actually did pretty well except for posting. I tracked both days, made my step target, and was on time with my meds. No crochet as i wasnt sitting still long enough. I also got all my tax papers together and in. As soon as my W2 and 1099s are in, I'm done. Yay! Now we'll see how well i track when I travel Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk Tracking: ** Medications: ** Steps: **
  14. What a crazy week. I swear my trip is jinxed. I'm having to get a substitute cat-sitter for 1 day of cat sitting. A couple of the friends I was going to meet up with both have issues with an aging mom and aunt. They'd invited me to stay with them, but I've cancelled that because I figure they had enough to deal with. Then I had to spend about an hour getting my mail-order prescriptions straightened out. I was so busy trying to send of my tax papers and adjust things last night that time got away from me. For the 1st time this challenge, I messed up the time of my evening medication and was 90 minutes late; enough to impact my sleep. And, I only got about 9500 steps. But I tracked by golly. Tracking: * Today went a little better. 4 (!) meetings today, but I still made my step total. I also got my FitBit report, and made over 77k steps for last week. Today I tracked, made more arrangements for moving, and have gotten back on track for my medications. No time for crochet and honestly, I'm not excited about the pattern/yarn combination. I've got a pattern I like better, but to make it work, I need a contrasting yarn. This is probably going to sit till I get back. Tracking: * Medications: * Steps: **
  15. Whew, where did the weekend go? Saturday was lots of steps, running around trying to get ready for next weekend's trip. I tracked well, and did my medication, but just didn't feel like sorting out my new hat pattern. Sunday, was mostly stay at home. Cooked some stuff up, did some laundry. I got my tax papers all sorted and ready to scan (I'll head in early and do that at work as I don't have a scanner at home). Still haven't got my cat sitter nailed down - ackk! I had just taken my the last of my meds, and was getting ready to post when my SIL called. By the time I talked to the entire family, I was running late. I got my hat started, but only just. Not quite 10K steps, but not bad for stay at home. Got to get that last load of laundry out of the dryer and go to bed. weekend: Tracking: ** Medications: ** Steps: * Creativity: *
  16. Well, I had an "interesting" day yesterday. Most of it went as planned; the 3 meetings became 4, but with a walk at lunch and and errand after work, I made 12k steps. I got home about 6, to find that the kitty had been sick everywhere. I took me the better part of an hour to get things livable; a bunch of stuff I just tossed onto the balcony. By then I was tired and grouchy so I walked across the street and got a cheeseburger for dinner. HOWEVER - I took my pills on time, got in my steps, and tracked everything including the burger. I was just so tired, I didn't post (or crochet). Thursday: Tracking: * Medications: * Steps: * Creativity: * Today I had an errand in the morning, including a trip to my hair dresser that didn't happen. Seems they had a flood and had to close for the day. then I headed back to the house to finish cleaning up everything, washing everything, moping floors. Yuck. I got lots of steps but not quite enough. I arranged to have my taxes done, and started tracking down a cat sitter. My first try came highly recommended, but wasn't available for the whole time. She gave me a line on someone else, so more calls tomorrow. I finished my trivet tonight, and tomorrow I'll start on my hat. Friday: Tracking: * Medications: * Creativity: *
  17. I hope so. Although I've already been so lucky with the weather I can't count on more. It warmed up today to about 40, which I can deal with just fine. I was a lot more active today; I deployed 6 monitors. Tomorrow will be a killer 3-meeting day, so I've got an errand planned on the way home to keep my steps up. Today, I finished with 13k, so I had a good walking day. Another good tracking day too. I've even got tomorrow partially tracked. I used some of my baked chicken for stir fry & I'll have the rest for lunch tomorrow. I've taken all my meds already at the appropriate times. I got a little more crochet in too. I've been knitting mostly, and it uses different hand muscles, so I was pretty slow crocheting the 1st couple of times. Tonight, I finished my trivet side 1 & got about 3/4 done with side 2. Today's stars Tracking: * Medications: * Steps: * Creativity: *
  18. Boy was it cold today; 16 degrees. I sure knew I wasn't in Pasadena. Despite the chilly weather, I went on my lunch walk and made my 10k steps. At home, I baked chicken, made up a nice batch of kale, and fixed lunch for the next couple of days. I had some paperwork to do for my house, so I didn't end up doing any knitting. I've already taken my meds, so not a bad day at all. Tracking: * Medications: * Steps: *
  19. Got off to a good start. I've got plans for my trip pretty much set; plane and hotel reservations done. I not only tracked, but tomorrows lunch is packed and tracked. Yesterday, I baked a spaghetti squash and some sweet potatoes. Tonight I got my chicken breasts marinating to bake tomorrow. I've got one more round to go on my trivet side 1 (I make 2 sides and sew them together). I got in my 10k steps. All my meds taken at their appointed time. I think I will add a silent alarm to my FitBit to help me on that one. So for day one: Tracking: * Medications: * Steps: * Creativity: *
  20. This challenge is going to an odd one for me. I'll spend 1/2 the challenge here in DC, then spend the 2nd half in California. I'll stay a few days with family, then friends, then off to Santa Ana to relocate my office there. I'll be flying back to DC on Ground Hog's day. So, in keeping with Ground Hogs day, I'll basically repeat my mini-challenge. 1. Keep up the tracking, including a mid-day tracking point. Make sure to eat on schedule; this is really going to be important while I'm in CA. I'm spending a few days with my family and think I'll need to buy some of my own food to stay on track.
  21. I decided to start off 2016 by just taking a break. Got up and read, and had a nice brunch while I watched the Rose Parade (odd for it to be on so late). Then I took all my Christmas stuff down and packed it away (giving it to a friend here). I puddled around and paid a few bills, then watched some silly mysteries while I finished my scarf. I still have two threads to darn in, but that will only take a few. My next little project will be a hat, although I also have enough yarn left from my cozy that I can make a little trivet to match. So I ended up hardly being out doors at all today, which is quite unusual. But I shall be back at it tomorrow! I did my tracking, but of course not too many steps. **
  22. I just noticed that this is a short challenge, so I think that makes it more manageable for me. Quite right! I can take a small crochet project with me on my travels, and of course it will not be hard to do some before I leave. Okay, I have a plan for next challenge I didn't post yesterday; I spent yesterday and this morning with off/on migraine patterns. But this time I think I know what kicked it off...the lighting in the museum exhibit. I'll need to limit my time in certain types of exhibits. I got in 9,500 steps yesterday, but only about 8,500 today. Hoping tomorrow will be better. I did get knitting in both days, and only have about 25 rows to go to finish up my scarf. I've been doing okay tracking, although my eating has only been so/so.
  23. Plan for next challenge. Comments/thoughts? 1. Keep up the tracking, including a mid-day tracking point. Make sure to eat on schedule; this is really going to be important while I'm in CA. I'm spending a few days with my family and think I'll need to buy some of my own food. 2. take my medication ON SCHEDULE. Everything works better when I do this. 3. 10k steps a day, bonus for averaging 11k. Shouldn't be hard while I'm doing the office move.
