I am not sure how monkish the following challenges are, but one has to start somewhere. (1) Complete a set of 10 strict hand-stand push-ups, touching my head to the ground on each rep. I can do 3 or 4 of these depending on the day, but I would like to be able to bang out 10 on demand. (STR - 3, STA -2) (2) Run 400m in under 60 seconds. I have no idea where I stand with this. I used to be able to runs these a good bit faster, but that was 19 years and 35 pounds ago. I'm curious to see how I do and how much progress I can make in just 6 weeks. Whether I make it or not, I think this one is gonna to hurt. (STA - 2, DEX -3) (3) Drop body weight to 187. I walk around at between 192-195 these days at 5'9". I imagine that this one may go hand-in-hand with my challenge 2. (CON - 3) (4) Spend at least 30 minutes doing something French language related at least 5 days a week. If this monk has an enemy, it surely is the French langauge; I must grapple with it more regularly and with greater intensity. I'll include reading, speaking, watching French TV or listening to French radio. I'm not sure that this will make me wiser or more charismatic, but if I can pull this off I will take a point for each. (WIS - 1, CHA -1) Also, I'm still working on the race. I'll come up with something soon on that.
