Hey! do NOT mess with JICAMA!, that's an awesome vegetable, nutritionally is almost like drinking water, but it will make you feel satisfied until the next meal! I usually eat ir mid-morning, with lemon, salt and chilli (like most things we eat around here). And i feel really jelous of all that swimming!, awesome!
  2. Sounds like you are doing great!, when it gets hard, and you succeed it's awesome!
  3. Great first week! I cannot run below 5º (and that is Celsius, I think it's like this much______________in farenheith), so kudos!
  4. Great progress so far, too bad about the cold! Sling sounds like fun!
  5. Great! another traithlonist (in the make at least)! best of luck.
  6. Hi Kefka, welcome to the Scouts!, remember to check in often so we can see your progress and cheer on you. What book are you reading currently?
  7. No races scheduled for the year yet, but will let you know!

YES! thank you, I had not found a credible excuse reason for not writing!
  9. Great first week and awesome GIF skills! and RIP Bowie
  10. Great first week, hope the next is even better!
  11. I'm not a big soup guy, but one of my favorites is Caulflower, carrots and olive oil. Cook the veggies, blend with as little water as possible and while in the blender, add olive oil slowly, salt and black pepper (those can be added fast). Simple and delicious, oh, and paleo, vegetarian, vegan and whatnot. Sometimes I have it for breakfast!
  12. Just read it and sounds great! (hmm, darned english, I mean I read it in past tense, not.. nevermind) Also, great portuguesing!, hope you don't die getting that B!, sounds like a pretty badass exam if you can die trying, but then, I don't speak portuguese.

Hey CK, thanks for asking. First week is over and I had to do some adjustments, a big one specifically: There will be no swimming this month, money is tight (Ok, we over spent during christmas and vacations), so it will resume starting february. Two very good outdoor bike, one with monkey wife and one with the littlest monkey, which was awesome, as he really liked montain biking, you know, AT the mountain! Food went really well, except for one day when there was cake everywhere (traditions, sweet, delicious evil traditions), but in general I feel a lot more in control, the no sugary drinks has been a little harder than expected but success mostly, only slip was a glass of coke during the second ride (poor planning). Quest #1 1.1 No unhealthy snacks 6/7 1.2 Two fully paleo meals 5/7 1.3 No sugary drinks 6/7 Quest #2 - Just keep swimming Cancelled Quest #3 - Stir it up, Add at least three workouts a week 2/3 Quest #4 - LIFE - Write something NONE
  14. Great start!, planning meals is essential to be able to actually eat healthy!
  15. One goal is certainly better than none!, and you are moving in the right direction, and that's what counts. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! Day one report Started ok, could have gone swimming but didn't, tomorrow my routine restarts (kids at school), and I will swim for sure The eating front, went quite well, considering we just came back from vacation and the fridge is nearly empty, monkey-wife should go to the market today, so plenty of healthy choices should be available. Additional workouts have not started yet but plenty of time to do it this week I hope to start writing tonight. Quest #1 1.1 No unhealthy snacks DONE 1.2 Two fully paleo meals One, but healthy-is the other two 1.3 No sugary drinks DONE Quest #2 - Just keep swimming NOT STARTED YET Quest #3 - Stir it up, Add at least three workouts a week NONE Quest #4 - LIFE - Write something NONE
  19. Wow! you really have everything fine-tuned!, my approach is way more general! Good luck with your challenge
  20. Hey ck!, I'm back and glad to see you (and flyer19) around!
  21. Great goals! For your breakfast cooking, may I suggest a simple schedule? I know it's hard for me to come up with ideas before coffee (I am the official breakfast cook at home), but if I know beforehand what's to be cooked, it all becomes much easier, sometimes I even cook the night before (fritattas and stuff that needs more time than the 15 minutes I have). Best of luck, and remember “The Dark Side of the Force is the pathway to many abilities some consider to be… Unnatural.†(such as running for no reason!)
  22. Great goals, well balanced and focused. Selfishness if often underated and much needed, best of luck with this process!!
  23. Great goals! and welcome to the Scouts.
