  1. late posting this cus i've already been working on my life goal (posted below) this time i'll be focusing on 2 bodyweight exercises mainly and want to hold the line elsewhere and try not to spend so much time on facebook, webrowsing, youtube, etc. got alot of stuff to do before the baby arrives(due on dec. 19) and just want to get into better habits of how i spend my time as well. so here goes Challenge #1 : Be able to do a set of 15 deadhang pull-ups +2 STR +1 CHA +1STA My PR right now is 7. Wanted to reach this goal last time, but I was way weaker than I thought Challenge #2 : Be able to do a set of 15 Pistol Squats on each side. +2 STR +1 DEX +1 STA Did my first one about a week ago. Have been progressing a bit already, want to continue that. Challenge #3 Maintain or increase bodyweight without gaining fat. +2 CON +2 CHA Want to hold the line, while getting stronger, I feel like I've lost some muscle the last couple weeks and want to gain it back without putting fat on. Life Goal: Keep media input to a minimum. (Less than an hour a day) +3 WIS I'm cutting back on my time with media, so I won't be on here much updating or anything.
  2. I know I'm way too late to enter but thot i'd post some results Challenge #1 - Be able to do 3 sets of 15 pullups and of chinups at different times. STR: +3 CH: +3 I got up to 7 deadhang pullups, so this was a pretty good improvement, not quite what i wanted tho. I give myself a C so STR:+1.5 and CH +1.5 Challenge #2 - Be able to run the block, around 6.4 km, in 30 minutes. STA: +3 CON: +1 Hurt my knee during the jump rope challenge and wasn't able to do this again. F and no change Challenge #3 - Only 1 serving of dessert/day. And no snacking on chocolate, candy, or chips. CHA: +1 WIS: +1 CON: +1 Started off on this really good, then at halloween i did absolutely horrendous. D. CHA WIS CON all plus .25 Life Challenge - Spend time listening to the Spirit of God daily. WIS: +3 Did pretty good on this. I would say I got about 2/3s of the days so a B . WIS +2
  3. Has anyone hear ever used the DVD series? is it any good? worth the money? or is there something else out there that has better value?
  4. ^^ true enuf. good point. it's almost all crap.
  5. awesome. that's great. such good feeling. keep it up!
  6. i agree, its a cool test, but i do think the plank and the box jumps have a much lower standard than the rest of the exercises. maybe tweak the numbers a bit for the PvP
  7. i'm in on it, but it won't let me join the team either (from canada) unless i just don't know what i'm doing. it's tuff and my wife is already having a hard time keeping eye contact with me :S
  8. NICE! congrats. that's awesome
  9. yah and also it's not like it's an uncommon view. i mean look at the workout of the month things they put in fitness magazines. it's like never ever the big 3. it's like weird variations of bicep curls and shoulder press.
  10. hahaha totally. it's crazy how tuff active kids are tho!
  11. so true. congrats! such a good feeling to fit in clothes!!
  12. that's wild. never even heard of that before. so your prescription for glasses actualy changed that much? what did ur optometrist have to say about that?
  13. hahahaa well i dunno, maybe us skinny folks will outnumber the powerlifters, so we'll be able to take 'em one at a time. more meat on those guys.. actually i'm on my way there with the lifting i've been doing......
  14. well the whole "new" thing for apple works great, because they are so many diehards out there that "HAVE TO" get the new one as soon as it goes out, contract or no contract, once that new version is out suddenly my amazing newish ipad/iphone is a piece of garbage cus the newer one came out. have you guys seen the video where they are interviewing people about the new iphone 5 just before it actually came out and said they had the new iphone 5 and asked people to try it out and see what they thot, then handed them the 4s? there was quite a few people who literally had the 4s is their other hand and were talking about how much better this "new" one was, not realizing it was the same thing as what they had. quite entertaining to watch actually. but in answer to the original question. yes it's definitely worth messing around on. just don't become an apple crazy zombie!
  15. that's absolutely crazy. i can hardly believe their comments. i know alot of gyms won't allow people to use chalk, but to have not heard of it is bizarre, cus like you said, it's not just for crazy power-lifters
  16. nice. loving the homestyle creations. i've been thinking about making something that mounts on the treadmill, so that i can be a walking desk. hasn't been a real high priority tho. just thot it would help in multiple ways tho, cus no only wud i get a bit more exercise, but i'd probly spend less time on the computer when i shud be doing other things
  17. nicely done!! i went for a ladder yesterday and got all the way up to 7. felt pretty good to be able to do the ladder up to my old max. (and the original max was not even dead hangs like these) im planning to test tomorrow.
  18. We as human beings are very poor judges of exactly how happy or unhappy our decisions will make us. This may be your dream job, but that doesn't mean it's going to make you happy as you think once you get it. this is soo true. how many times have you wanted something sooooo bad only to get over it within several days of achieving it (or maybe a few weeks or months if it was a big deal). Something that I have found is that if we aren't "happy" where we are, we usually won't be happy when we get where we're currently aiming. i'm not saying we shudn't have a level of drive to move forward. just when we have alot of "well this will make me happy" thots, it tends to be there always about the next thing. not sure about your situation tho. if you've dreamed of doing it as a kid or for many years or something like that, that's a bit different. but being thankful for what you already have is really important. maybe the door will open where this career will make more sense. sounds like you're in a good financial situation right now, is it possible to start saving up for the 17 G-notes you need?
  19. that's crazy! talk about progress. nice work. i really gotta start pushing myself!
