  1. Quick Weekly Update before bedtime. 1 Fitness - Exercise for 30 minutes 3 times a week 90 minutes / 3 sessions done this week - target met. 2 Mind - Meditate for 15 minutes 3 times a week 65 minutes / 3 sessions done this week - target met and beaten. 3 Life - De-clutter Craft Room/Cloakroom area Magazines worked on this week, I now have 3 sections of list at around 90% complete - aim for next week make that 100% for 2 of them. Stamps will have to wait for further funds. 4 Life - Complete all items from To Do List Cross stitch 85% done, charity cards 70% done. All in all not a bad week, did have to push my self on a few things but I made it. Here is hoping for another good week next week! Tomorrow I have to have a fasting blood test and it's not until 9.40 am so I am hoping it doesn't throw my day off, plus I need to be sensible when I do eat breakfast and not go crazy. I usually do my exercise during my Son's morning nap as sometimes it's the only one he'll take but we might not get home in time for him to go down. We shall see
  2. Don't be too hard on yourself it takes time to build habits, especially when you are short in time - time is a precious commodity!
  3. Hey don't feel too bad there are so many threads, I quite often read but don't comment - I try and comment every few days but there are many Monks You'll get back onto healthy eating easily I'm sure, hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving x
  4. Man I'm sorry for your parents, is it the house you grew up in? Many memories in a place like that. Maybe if you are inclined towards the creative side you could maybe make them a memory book, take pictures insert thoughts or events like remember when such and such happened so they can take a piece of it with them. Would write a bit more but my alarm has just gone off telling me to leave for work.
  5. Thanks Kishi Opposite of fun ha ha I *like that. Not a bad idea, mine is set to private not sure how to share it with people without all the adding people or getting email addresses - or do you just go fully public and share the link here, hmmmm worth thinking on.
  6. It's kind of good in a weird way when stuff you're giving up makes you feel rubbish like a reaffirmation that you are doing the right thing Good luck for Monday x
  7. Great going Jedi_Mind, especially over a busy time and holiday! Sorry to hear about your injury that sucks
  8. *Cheering from the sidelines! I have no idea about technique so I shall say well done, and is that your daughter - so cute!
  9. Another update, this time life goals only. Lets just pretend we didn't see what I wrote yesterday hey 3 Life - De-clutter Craft Room/Cloakroom area Magazines all cut up, waste in recycling and a pile ready to be filed. I really wanted to cross this off my list tonight - started and made great progress then I ran out of polypockets Will have to wait until Monday at the earliest now. 4 Life - Complete all items from To Do List 2 more cards made when Son was napping makes a total of 7 from my target. I now have 10 Charity cards and 3 family cards. Will start on family cards after I get to 15 charity cards. Need to find a better way of tracking goals as having to read through my posts to find what I have done each week, I obviously have a terrible memory lol. Am going to set up a little spreadsheet or something equally geeky to track. Might have a play with the new Task Management app I found today. Back at work tomorrow after two weeks off, Hubby been recovering from a hernia operation, back to normal for me from tomorrow.
  10. Sounds like a good idea you can give each area a chance to recover too.
  11. That is one hunk of meat! Wow Never tried tur-duc-en before some reason is brings South Park to mind and I don't know why A good Christmas for us would be a goose and gammon.
  12. Well done for getting through yesterday, you are doing so well. Great swap with the soda to sparkling juice, I quite often drink sparkling water or tonic water if I want a bit of fizz. Diet coke is purely for Vodka now, well that's my aim lol Edit - I had one glass of wine the other night and felt fuzzy headed, hardly ever drink now so when I do it tends to have a stronger effect.
  13. I don't buy meat from the Supermarket, for one they stretch the truth and people think they are getting ethical meat when they aren't really. I buy from an online company Abel and Cole and sometimes Riverford that knows it farmers and are mostly as close to organic as can be, and free range. Our local farmers market also sucks, they don't do the seasonal local veg like some you see and the big truck that pulls up selling meat doesn't sell free range chicken so I avoid it. My meat is not cheap but it's worth it for the better quality and ethics I'm only on part time wages though so have to be frugal. Working on my veg intake slowly lol
  14. Hopefully you enjoyed it. These things take time so don't be too hard on yourself
  15. I guess I take a slightly similar route in the respect that I try and bulk out my meals with veg, I tend to use meat sparingly due to the expense of it - not happy to use anything that is not free range as it's an issue I feel very strongly about plus grass fed beef for example is better for you it has higher levels of Omega 3. How does paleo work in that respect do you eat grain fed beef for example, just curious I am terrible for carbs though, I do weigh them which is one of my ways of being mindful and overcoming the eyes bigger than stomach syndrome
  16. I just found it yesterday, will have a further read of it I think Update - I went to bed late again last night and it occured to me that I did the same on Tuesday, I usually work until 11pm Tues and Thurs so my body must have fell into my normal pattern without me thinking about it. Couldn't sleep though - too wired. 1 Fitness - Exercise for 30 minutes 3 times a week Body weight routine done today, feeling a bit rubbish as can't seem to even do a proper sit up any more. Press ups seem ok but I'm not sure how I am supposed to tell if my form is wrong, it seems ok to me but I'm no expert. Routine took 10-15 minutes so did 30 minutes on the Wii doing a boxing fitness game. Need to top up my exercise for the week and using walking towards to total feels like cheating so will do something tomorrow if I can. Also need to start using phone to time sessions properly.
  17. Is paleo similar to atkins then or this my lack of knowledge showing, I know you have a small amount of carbs, seems similar to me? I keep track of my food too, hoping I'm one of the small percentage of Weight Watchers that keeps my weight off but you have to track to do it to prevent "mindless eating". Your pancakes look yumtastic!
  18. Have had a really productive night tonight not challenge related but still good. Been trying to find an online home finance programme I was happy with as I can't use iBank on the new computer and in searching found a good blog with tips on saving money etc zenhabits how to stop living paycheck to paycheck. Anyway read that and got some good ideas, I have some bills that come out every 3 months so I am planning on transferring the amount due on the non paying months to a savings account. Also going to start tracking finances now and not wait till the next challenge. Found a good programme and have just finished setting it up, feeling tired as normally in bed by now but really positive Edit: Just noticed the name of the blog is zen habits - how fitting lol
  19. It's ok panic over, the delivery company marked off as delivered when it wasn't, just received it - using it right now It's not Amazon's fault, they are great, it's this particular delivery company - we've had problems before. He didn't even ask me to sign for it! So, I had planned to take advantage of the situation and do some more of my to do list tonight but now I have a new toy to play with so.................
