  1. Whoops. Just realized I didn't post a pic for my week one wrap up. Bad Shatyr! But I've got other Photoshop work to do, so it'll have to wait until later in the week. I got home very late last night from D&D and ended up skipping the meditation. Apparently that was the appropriate response, because I almost hopped out of bed this morning and made it to work way early, despite having to stop for gasoline. I made cookies over the weekend for one of my co workers who's leaving us on Friday. I brought in 60-ish cookies. None came home. Conclusion: I bake really good gingersnaps.
  2. Week One: Grow Stronger: 1/3 Discipline the Mind: 7/7 Empty the Packs: 1/1 Cooking: 0/2 Enchanting: 2/3 Tailoring: 5/5 It was a rough week. Between the sick, the snow, and the DOMS, I didn't get as much done as I wanted. Meditation and cross stitch are the only things I have guaranteed at this point. I want to focus on my workouts and my cello next week. My teacher's given me a practice log she uses with one of her other students. Since she teaches all age ranges, it has a spot for parents to sign. I laugh, because Mom and I craft at my place on Saturdays before I go to cello lessons. I'm totally going to get her to sign it, just for kicks. For the packs, I cleaned my oven. Sure, it's not "getting rid of stuff", but it is a step towards taking control of my environment. Plus, I made steak after and the fire alarm didn't go off! And the steak was delicious and plentiful enough that I'll have extra for lunch tomorrow. Mmm, steak. The rest of my lunches are cooking now, along with my breakfasts (also in the oven and not setting off the fire alarm!). I've got some cookies to bake and some art to do, then it will be time for meditation.
  3. Good on you for the adulting, and the debt-free, and the pure AWESOME that was this week! Also, seriously? This is what society has come to? Larger earrings (I'd actually wear those purple ones...) in order to disguise larger hips? Sad. So sad.
  4. I'm out in Colorado. I've got a really neat set of local Proto-Groves, but I'm bad about attending the public rituals. I do a lot of solitary work.
  5. And Merry Meet to you. I'm not familiar with BTW, but that doesn't mean I can't learn!
  6. I might be able to pull off a red-orange... or maybe an amber. I overdid my workout yesterday and have been feeling the DOMS all day. In addition, my form on the last few reps was way off. I think I'll back down from increasing reps and focus on form until I no longer have the wobbles during lunges. Last thing I want to do is roll my ankle or some other ungraceful disaster. The first draft of the Legendary questline is coming together. I'll probably adjust it a few times, but I'm fairly pleased with how it looks right now.
  7. I had this thought today, when I was planning out some of my WoW work. I'm thinking of turning my quests/goals into a Legendary questline. Granted, I look AWFUL in orange (I have northern European coloring, orange and yellow are not flattering hues) but it just feels right. So I'll be developing that for a while, just to see how it goes.
  8. I've recently switched to a "this does look good, but do I want it more than I want this other thing" mindset. Between that and pre-cooking most of my meals, I'm doing decent. It took years to get here, though, and my body fat percentage shows it. I know you'll find your way. I believe in you!
  9. You caught my attention with Brigid and kept it with Imbolc. ADF member here, absolutely following along.
  10. I slept in this morning, due to it being my day off and sleeping weird the past few nights. Very strange dreams. Meditation's been going well, but between the recovering from illness and the snow, I haven't had any drive to do my workouts or practice the cello. That changed this morning, because I woke up to clear floors. I mentioned it before, I'll mention it again. You guys have no idea how terribly excited I am about this! I've lived with clutter controlling this apartment for years. I don't know what clicked in the past few weeks, but I'm taking charge of my space and making it mine. Now if only the city inspectors would finally show, so I can get back to work on sorting and tossing things. Right now, everything that I still need to go through is "packed" because I always have to spread things out when I go through them. I can't really do that when people are going to be walking through and inspecting things. In other news, I'm making great progress on my cross stitch for my coworker's baby. I miscounted something early, so I'm having to adapt the pattern as I go. It's such a thrill to be able to do that, because a few years ago I would have just given up and bought a new kit. Take that, crippling perfectionism! I made a mistake, but I'll work around it and learn from it! I haven't cooked dinner yet, but I'm thinking of trying out that honey glazed salmon recipe. I just hope it ends well, because I'd really like to add tasty fish to my diet. Right now, it's hit or miss when I grill.
  11. Duolingo is fantastic. I'm using it to refresh my French and pick up Irish. Now if only they would release Japanese for English speakers...
  12. I'm not going to count it as part of this challenge, but I corralled all my crafting supplies that have been taking over my couch and the floor around it. It's been taking up valuable sit-and-play-games space for entirely too long. It's exciting! I'm adulting! And now I'm going to make dinner.
  13. I do love parkour challenges. Following! Which school/gym do you go to, Nymeria?
  14. You've got this! Following along, hoping for stray cat pictures!
  15. I actually have a sunlight replacement lamp as part of my morning alarm system. 30 minutes before I wake up, it starts to brighten. Since it has sunlight bulbs, it simulates the dawn. By the time 5am rolls around, my room is full daylight. It's been fantastic! Really helped with the SADS.
