  1. Update 3: I am still drinking green tea daily (it has almost become second nature because I like it so much) and the pushups are getting a bit easier to do but eating clementines every day is kind of burning me out. I am surprised at how much I am eating fruit and enjoying it but it is the same thing over and over again. I need to find some new fruit to enjoy and a new way to eat it. I have discovered that I don't like apples much or bananas. Kiwi is too expensive but I do enjoy it. I am going to have to start experimenting with new types of fruit and try to learn to cook with it or make it into something more than it is. As far as fitness goes I have been really lazy lately and am only doing the pushups. I need to be bitten by the exercise bug if I ever hope to go down a pant size.
  2. Update 2: The pushups are getting easier thanks to the advice of Yashin. Thanks! Doing them first thing in the morning helps me to get them out of the way and it helps to jump-start my day. I think that doing this for six weeks could really help to ensure that this practice becomes part of my life. Fitness in the morning is great! I'm still enjoying the green tea every day. As far as the fruit goes, I am hoping that someone can give me some advice for using citrus fruit in breakfast recipes. Does anyone have any ideas other than just peeling an orange or eating a grapefruit with a spoon?
  3. North Bay Ontario right here! I'm lucky in the sense that the person who showed this to me is also in North Bay...
  4. SpiralGalixy: Good call on the jasmine green tea. Genius flavour combo. It takes green tea to the next level! I had never thought about flavoured green tas but I find myself enjoying them. Maybe now that I enjoy their flavours I can somehow train myself to enjoy regular green tea... On fruit: citrus fruits are what I am eating for now. I feel safe with that family of fruit. I am liking grapefruit and clementines. About the salad: that's part of my next challenge. Eat veggies at least twice a week. I should probably have scurvy by now because I hate fruit and veggies so much. Thanks for your advice on the tea!
  5. Alright, Update 1. Setting goals has shown me one of my major character flaws. I am lazy. I suspected it before, but now I know it for sure. There is no reason I should have to bribe myself into doing ten pushups a day when it only takes 2 minutes! I can do them while I wait on the kettle to boil but standing around seems like the better option at the time. Integrating green tea is working very well. I have it every morning for breakfast and I find it really helps to start me off on the right foot. I am eating clementines for fruit right now because they are small and I can grab them and eat them on the go. It's not so hard to commit to dietary goals because I HAVE to eat so I just substitute certain snacks with fruit and my morning coffee with green tea. Taking the stairs in my apartment building and doing pushups on the other hand are very hard. I have no idea what to do to motivate myself. I know what I want to do, I know it's beneficial, but I can't seem to commit wholeheartedly to it. I force myself to do the pushups but I always leave them until right before bed so I can say "i did them today" but leaving it until the last minute really isn't good enough in some way...
  6. WOW! These sound like very challenging goals. To take on something so intense just shows how determined you must be to do this. Late night snacking gets a whole lot easier when you have a sleep schedule. And if you find the urge to snack late at night try and stay away from fruit. It contains natural sugars that help to keep you alert (so no sleeping for you!) Try something like a Fibre 1 bar or a serving of toasted almonds. These things are full of fibre and protein that will satisfy cravings and keep you felling full for a longer period of time. Good luck with all of your healthy endeavors!
  7. Hello out there! I am a new assassin and this is my first time in a forum. Not only am I new to forums but I am also new to setting goals for myself and following through with them. Let's see how I do with both During the personality placement quiz (the one that suggests whether you should be a Ranger, Assassin, etc.) I couldn't help but wish to be an assassin. I admire the lifestyle of those people who see the world as their playground, it's pretty intense. Imagine my surprise and happiness when it was suggested that I was assassin at heart. I accepted my role and started looking into parkour right away. I aspire to be a better me. I feel like my mind and my body belong to two separate people. My mind being the strong one and my body being the one that loves everything that's bad for me. I know that the lifestyle I want to adopt is reachable, I just have to get into the groove and stick with it. My ultimate goal is to be able to do parkour one day so it is going to be a long road and a lot of practice. My goals/challenges I set for myself are going to help me to accomplish this goal one day. First I need to get healthy then I can start my real training! My four goals/challenges: 1) Eat fruit EVERYDAY. Going to be tough because I detest fruit... [+2 CON ] 2) Do 10 push-ups a day. Also going to be tough. I have pretty good lower body strength. Legs of steel from my days as a runner. My arms and chest are another story... A sad, sad, weak story. If you have two broken hands and a jar to open and I am the only one around you are better off to smash the jar then to ask me to open it. [+3 STR +2 STA] 3) Drop one pant size. I have my wedding coming up and I would rather not feel uncomfortable in my fitted wedding dress. My bottom half is a large size while my top half is a small. I look like a pear. I know I can't change this but if I can make the lower half of my fruity self just one size smaller I would be very happy. I would fit perfectly into my dress and feel great about myself on the big day. To achieve this I am going to do things such as: take the stairs in my apartment building and follow a healthier diet [+1 STR +2 STA +2 CHA] 4) Drink green tea daily. I suffer from anxiety (great for someone who aspires to jump off buildings, right?) and green tea helps to calm me and keeps me zen. I know its good for me and it does great things for my mental state but I hate the taste. I guess it's something I will have to get used to. [+1 CON +2 WIS] Alright, the challenges have been laid out before me and the game is afoot! Let's do this thing.
