Yola, brohas. My name is Cat. Here's my story (kinda). My grandfather's 5-year death anniversary is coming up in 4 days. He may not have been the perfect role model, but even up until his death at 87, he was still fighting. Every day. Push ups, pull-ups, situps, even face exercises so that aging wrinkles would never rear their horrifying presence. But that's only 25% of the reason why I chose to follow in his footsteps as a fighter. Grandma was a seamstress in the Philippines. You could only earn so much creating dresses for the "wealthy". Grandpa was in the army (siding with the US). He was shipped all-over the country. While he was away, he would contend in the (sometimes illegal) boxing matches--and that's how he got us to the US. He would fight and fight and fight until he sweat blood. He fought (and won) until his daughter could finish school and start her grand life in the US. I have the blood of a fighter, and I'm here to get stronger and tougher. Right now, I fight to survive in this crazy world. Right now, I should say I got extremely lucky. I work at a Krav Maga gym in Berkeley as the receptionist and manager (papers, papers, papers). I may not be earning six-figures right out of college, but hell, I would not have it any other way. I attend Krav classes at least 3 times a week. I also do yoga, Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, and Muay Thai on the side, and I'm currently studying to be a personal trainer. Someday, I'd like to teach Krav to others so that they can protect themselves and their families. Yes, I do lift. I also cosplay, mostly as Avatar Korra. Deal with it. Nice to meet you all.
