  1. Very awesome! You can do it! And thanks for leaving that little sneaky note of encouragement in the Kobold quest log I'm gonna hop over to my thread and report on my learning Thai so far lol
  2. LOL, sorry I'm a wordy kitty cat lol. Awww, wow, I didn't fully think about it that way, but thank you. That really means a lot. *hugs* Oh, you're welcome! I'm a giver, so it's so easy to just jump in and help others out. I love it! Ya know, you're right about the support... that's a huge reason why I didn't succeed before myself. Iron will only gets you so far then you collapse. *giggles* I'll let her know. She's such an inspiration One day when she can read, I'd like to let her read that post and see what an impact she can make, even in her daddy's life
  3. You can do it! I hate failure too.. especially when it's staring me in the face But it's going to be okay. You're a half-orc BEAST. This is a MINOR setback. Sometimes we get sidelined and that's okay. Work on other things while those parts are healing. Try doing calf raises, etc. Yes, you will "fail" your goal temporarily, BUT everyone will see how you adapt and overcome by refusing to just stop moving all together. Don't forget. We are here for you.
  4. aaawww don't be, you rock in so many other ways!! At last this time I'm pulling my weight and helping out Hehe... well what I did was use my work schedule to my advantage... everytime I went to the bathroom or on a personal break I either did 10-20 wall pushups or inclines on the half wall near the elevator. That way I would get a workout, but not wear myself out completely... Then I cranked some out right before leaving work, so I had an hour to recoup before getting home. It was all strategic killing of kobolds... work smarter not harder But regardless, I'm glad we're working together to stop this kobold threat, the rookies need us!
  5. Oooh.. hmm.. well lets see... the ingredients were as follows: slice of cheese, bread, burger patty, jalapenos (sliced length wise and lightly fried) lettuce tomato mustard Then the side was sweet potato fries homemade ranch dressing ------ Now for a conversion.... Tomato (same) boston lettuce (better nutritional value) jalapenos (same) burger patty (grass fed would be awesome, but whatever you like best) mustard (same) keep cheese if going primal, avoid if going paleo homemade guacamole (yum!) could wrap it in lettuce or eat it on a plate, I vote plate For the side: bake sweet potato fries in the oven with a dash of sea salt to avoid the deep fried part but keep the crispy might as well skip the ranch dressing (even though it sound ssooooo good) Oh and here you go *hands you the charm back* Thank you again.
  6. On another note, I ate pretty crappy today and my body hates me for it... but hey, it's not everyday that your brother-n-law leaves the company you both work for and sets out on his own grand adventure of self-employment. I went to lunch with him at this fantastic little burger joint and while I had an jalapeno burger with guacamole on top and sweet potato fries with ranch.... then they had a chocolate cake for him (mountain bike theme). Then I had Chipotle tonight and one cup of sweet tea. So amazingly I kept my sweet partaking down to 2 items, but still, my body is rebelling against my delicious but poor choice for lunch.
  7. All I can say is.... I'm eating this mini-challenge UP! Somehow (and I've amazed myself) I've managed to work in 30 wall pushups & SEVENTY incline pushups throughout the day... and my day isn't over yet... and my arms still function lol. Fonzico, your anti-fatigue charm IS WORKING!!!! Thank you
  8. LOL. Yeah, Athena said specifically "throughout the day" so you just squeeze them in, be it part of your workout or otherwise. Indeed... I tossed that up in the challenge thread.... it would be the 'aftermath' of the kobold purge... ya know... having to squat (pick up the bodies) and lunge (carry them to the bonfire)
  9. Ah, but here's the thing, just a set of 10... so do a set of 10 when you go to the bathroom and crank out a few on your lunch break... That's what I'm doing.
  10. wait.. there's OTHER mini challenges? I know of the "unofficial" one and the official one.. what else??? Oh, and you're welcome
  11. Thanks for the update! Now you know what NOT to do today Keep up the good parts and no more heart burn educing evilness. Good job on the workouts! I'm working on the kobold mini-quest today, so this should be interesting.
  12. I forgot to give you the link. Here it is: http://www.udemy.com/hot-thai-kitchen/ Sign up for free and enjoy it with me!
  13. Thanks for chiming in! I don't blame you, if I can avoid tolls I will, but it's sadly a necessity for me over 50% of the time. If I my wife ends up wanting to do some stuff, I'll give you a shout~
  14. That's a very very good point! I'll still shoot for organic if I can, but cooking whole chickens really is the better way to go Now... I have a very important question to ask you.... Can I have the recipe? I'd love to learn how to make shredded chicken tacos at home and get my family exposed to good ones
  15. Yeah, let me link it for you. They're free and it's broken down into "lessons" so you can sqeeze in a 10 min one sometime I hear that lol. Aww, Thanks Fonzico!! *takes the anti-fatigue charm* I appreciate it and I WILL give it back. For accountability purposes, here, you can enjoy my Fuzzy Shawl of Perpetual Purring and Warmth. It's like wearing a happy cat around your neck all day! Oh and since I'm on this kick, here's my meme theme for today. It's in reference to saying no to temptations and cheats.
  16. There's a mini-challenge... I need to go kill some kobolds. I'm going to give this a shot this week and see what I can pull off. Gotta do my part to thin out those numbers!
  17. I'm there there with you I drive 45 min. to work everyday, so even if I did wanna hang out with co-workers (1% of the time), it's not convenient either. Yeah, a good church family is really a home away from home if you ask me. It's the way we're suppose to be as the body of Christ. And on your last part, AMEN! Keep it up! Praying for you today
  18. Okay, so I'm stretching myself here. I'm going to sign up for a few more online courses. First is "Hot Thai Kitchen" It's 2.5 hours of content, but I think the description says it all "Learn how to cook Thai food beyond a recipe. Hot Thai Kitchen gives you more than just an authentic Thai recipe. You'll learn the scientific explanation of why we cook the way we cook, gain understanding of role of each ingredient, and find out what you can use to substitute. On top of that it's fun to watch!" I LOVE learning how to cook, so I'm going to start stretching myself in this area. I WANT to learn how to cook it and learning WHY things are done certain ways is what I love. I'm a LEGO kid at heart, so being able to dismantle or know why things fit together is my bread and butter. I'm looking for a third course somewhere... I might look into something physical, like a course on philosophy and basic techniques for parkour or something... idk, just musing at the moment.
  19. An update on this. I did email Steve and he did get back with me. Here's his reply: I think that it's cool that digital downloads and such are being considered. We'll just have to wait and see what they come up with next. I can tell you, I never thought I'd come across the motivational online channel that NF has, ya know? That was some out of the box, nerd thinking right there
  20. I just completed my first online course "Wordpress 101 Course". A lot of the basics I already knew, but it was nice to get a good overview of all the ins and outs and a few tips and tricks that will be useful when whipping up sites for clients in the future. I'm 1/3 of the way done with my Life Goal challenge, now to find another course
  21. Thanks for the encouragement and talking about it. I haven't had any other episodes so far, so that's good. And now here's my update... since I haven't given one in awhile. And for those of you just joining me, I'll include the definitions for each challenge/task. Recap of 2nd week Tame the Beast Realistic: Limit intake of sugar to 1-2 items a day. Ideal: Consume zero sugar all day. I started out strong hitting my ideal, and slipped up on Friday due to a screwed up drink order. That's what I get for skirting the edge of my allowance haha, but at least I'm working on it on average. I need to get back to the first week's rocking of this challenge and stop slacking and rationalizing. Overall, on target for 6 out of 7 days Rest for the Weary Realistic: 6-7 hrs of sleep 5 nights a week Ideal: 8 hrs of sleep every night I've been hitting my realistic goal spot on with this, but seeing how little sleep I DO get on table top rp nights, is scary lol. Of course, I'm the DM, so I SHOULD be able to manage this better... but I always go over (too much fun). I am happy on the other nights though, getting 6.5 hours of sleep is awesome. My body is slowly getting used to this increased sleep, so hopefully that'll help the rest of my body internally. Two days, got less than 6 hours, on target. Move the Mountain Realistic: Complete 2 body weight workouts every week Ideal: Complete 3 body weight workouts every week Okay, this week, I commend myself for throwing in a workout while waiting to get into work, but I sucked it up, not even completing 2 workouts this week. Gotta step up my game on this one, the challenge isn't getting any longer. Learning is Growing Realistic: Take 3 courses at www.udemy.com or elsewhere (ehow.com) and level up my knowledge and skills in various areas. Ideal: Take 6 courses a week at www.udemy.com or elsewhere (ehow.com) and level up my knowledge and skills in various areas. Okay, is started this out great, but last week I've was sucking fumes. I haven't had the time or the mindset to sit down and study. I need to slice into my time wasting habit (I.E. video games) and do this. No excuses, that's what happened. No progress, but if I finish the first class this week and start a second one, I'll be on target for my 3 for the challenge. (bonus) Path of the Paladin Realistic: Reading the Bible once a day at least 6 days of the week. Ideal: Reading the Bible everyday, three times a day (like eating). I realize that leaving my Bible at home has hindered my progress this last week. I was still able to hop online at work and read via my app or the browser, but it makes a significant difference having a Bible physically on hand. I still managed to do decent this week. 5 days worth of 1 reading. Didn't hit my realistic goal, I rationalized one of the days because this was a bonus, but I need to stop rationalizing things. This is still very important to me and isn't some silly goal. I'm gonna step this up this week. And there you have it. I'm looking forward to rocking it this week.
