  1. Okay, this post has a TMI warning attached to it, so if you have an overactive imagination and get squeamish, don't read further, but I gotta get this off my chest. On the plus side, can I turn that into a plus side? Ummm, maybe my body is finally letting go of some things thanks to Whole 30? :/

  8. Yes, it's a big win. She was running about 3-5 days without one, so going a full 7 is HUGE. She still has to have it, but she's making progress Oh, I don't think I know anything in regards to that. My wife is very candid and honest with me about how she feels with that, so I sympathize but I don't dare assume to know. I just try to help where I can and be understanding. LOL, okay Tess, I'll pass that on to her
  9. I'm not sure what to do with this groin muscle issue. I didn't tear anything (at least I don't think so), because I can still get up and down out of a chair unassisted. I can do some squats, but it hurts when I rise back up from the squat. I've tried stretching it at night, doing butterflies, etc. I think that's helping but it's still annoying that when I start doing bw squats, everything is fine, then I start to feel it about three squats in and then after that might left knee starts hurting, cause I'm trying to compensate for the groin pain. Has anyone else ran into that type of thing? I've done some google searches, but haven't found anything that is less severe than what is out there.

  12. Since I haven't gotten a weekly recap for Week 4 up yet... here we go! Week 4 Recap Food: I've nailed Whole 30 the entire way and now I'm just coasting. Cravings seem to have fallen off, or at least tapered off into casual whims rather than beastly monstrosities. My wife is sticking with W30 except for the once a week soda partaking, which has been good for her, but she's struggled with the monthly woes of being a woman, so Week 4 was rough. Dayna has stuck with her weekend cheat meal, but everything else has been compliant... she has lost about 8 lbs, so at least it's working, even if she's not sticking 100%. Workouts: 3 Walks Sleep: 1. 6.9 interrupted 2. 7.4 late interrupted 3. 7.2 interrupted 4. 6.5 5. 5.5 6. 9.0 7. 9.0

  15. I feel more rested today and I'm back to work Thanks for the encouragement! Hey gal, yeah I think my body was fighting something, but I'm glad that I took the day to nip it in the butt instead of waiting for things to get worse. Thanks! haha Oh, hmm... I hadn't thought about that. I'll consider some warm tea before bed to see if that helps, if things don't smooth out. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
  16. I'm not feeling great tonight, so I'm not gonna push it. I called in tomorrow too, so we will see how I'm feeling after some sleep, workout wise. At least the food is easy peasy.

  19. So, in reference to my above ongoing post ^, I'm tired. tired tired tired... not brain foggy, but certainly tired. Also, I think I can safely say that the stress is lowering greatly. I think the stretches before bed (when I remember to do them) and the overall focus on better things (food, life, God) have all worked to kick this stress down the stairs.
  20. Day 5 (19) Ongoing... Sleep: Midnight - 5:30? - 5.5 hours. Got to bed late, I think I woke up at one point, but it wasn't long enough conciousness to consider it really awake and then I shot up at 5:30ish and got ready for work and left. Workout: Workout? What's that? Nothing to see here for now, move along. Food: Breakfast: 3 scrambled eggs, sausage, salsa, sweet potato pieces (maybe 1/4 of a potato) Snack: 1 glass of semi-sweet apple juice, 1 banana Lunch: leftover chicken fajita innards & guac & another 1/4 of sweet potato Dinner:

  22. Yeeesssss! And that's what I spent 20 min explaining to myself, that I knew better and had to move on. LOL well, I'm glad you could laugh at the poop one, my brain is weird sometimes. Hahaha, wow, yes I'm gonna chalk up all those dreams (yours included) as just stupid dreams. Thanks, I'm going to try and get my SIL to use this recipe for the seasoning: http://www.2catsandchloe.com/2014/07/whole30-approved-taco-seasoning-and.html I'll update ya on how it tastes and how it all went down. Also, I got another walk in today, hurray for hat-tricks!
  23. Hey, it's a good start and you're right, Whole 30 is the main thing. That's 80% of EVERYTHING else. I'm the same way, but we gotta ace that and the rest WILL fall into place, it will just take longer than one challenge. Regardless, keep up the good work.
  24. Day 4 (18) Ongoing... Sleep: 10:30 - 5:00 - 6.5 hours. Dream woke me up at 5am on the nose, but I couldn't get out of bed or anything till it was 'last chance to get out of bed and get dressed to get to work on time' alarm. Feh... Workout: Feh. It's nice weather today, I'll go for a third walk in a row. I know I'll have time for that. Food: Snack: Banana Breakfast: 3 eggs n spices Lunch: leftover roast Dinner: turkey taco salad (hopefully)
  25. Dreams for days 17 and 18, weird, weird dreams. I had a really weird one the other night that was just odd. It mixed a conversation I had with my three year old son about pooping IN the toilet and not ON it with some attractive woman, who did that. Just... bizarre, glad it's over. ============ Last night/this morning, I had another odd one, but this one was a food n stuff related dream. Apparently, I found myself at a restaurant like Culvers and Quiznos combined. I only say that because they had a roller oven thing and sold chicken strips/nuggets. Apparently I had ordered chicken strips... Then this guy shows up with a TON of uncooked pizzas. Through the course of the dream, I figured out what was going on. Apparently the pizza place down the street had their oven break, so they made a deal with the restaurant I was at to use their roller oven thing. So I was sitting there eating chicken tenders (I guess, never focused on me eating) and smelling pizza. Then it gets odder, So, I'm sitting there with, unreadable face people, ya know the type, and this one woman starts slamming my bro-n-law. Just talking absolute trash, calling him a drunk and all that. Well, I get up and politely confront the lady, which devolves into me passionately defending my bro-n-law. I'm a tad protective of family/extended family. Anyway, the "conversation" hits a point where I realize I'm making a scene and I end up excusing myself from the restaurant to cool down. Then I hear someone calling my name. I don't respond at first, still fuming, but then when I do, I find my bro-n-law coming outside the place and my parents are behind him. He doesn't come to thank me or even console me, he just, in his typical way tells me to just not stick up for him. That I should just let people say what they want and leave it alone and not make scenes in public. At that moment I felt so small and hurt. Then I woke up. So when I woke up, I was first sorting through all that intense hurt and rejection THEN the fact that I had broken the whole 30 diet made me mad lol. Guess that was my psyche warring with the fact that my parents do go out to his mountain bike races to support him like a son (and their daughter of course who married him) and I don't really participate in anything that they care to join in on with me. (I've tried to get them to play board-games at family gatherings and I just get polite declines etc.) Coupled with the fact that I'm not the one to ask for things, but my little sister always seems to go for attention. And sprinkling in like dumping gatorade on a football coach after a victory, the eating of chicken tenders and possibly pizza to crash my Whole 30 progress. On a side note: I will say that my parents don't play favorites and they do love both of us kids very very much. I can take anything to them and they are there for me. Just needed to clarify. ========== I'm not sure why I'm getting these dreams now, but I guess I should be happy that I'm sleeping straight through the night now for the most part lol.
