  1. I found 7 different chicken marinades. So, I'm having chicken and veg every night, but different flavors of marinade will (hopefully) keep it from becoming too boring. I assigned each day of the week one marinade. That let me batch prep each marinade. I set up the freezer bags for the number of days (like, 5 bags since there are 5 Tuesdays). Then I sliced the breasts in half and plunked them in the bags. I put 5 bowls out and for each ingredient I doled it out into all 5 bowls. It did take some time, but it was so worth it!

  4. Welcome, everyone, to my Battle Log! I am respawning after a particularly difficult month. I am ready to go. I have prepped dinners for the entire month of August. I have also done the necessary prep work for lunches and breakfasts this week. Day One Food Breakfast: 1 breakfast cookie - carrot cake flavour (113 calories) Lunch: salad (spring mic, olives, mushrooms, almonds, sunflower seeds) with balsamic vinegar/olive oil dressing; apple Dinner: 1 chicken breast, steamed veg Snack: popcorn (less butter than usual); 14 baby dill pickles Water 6 Cups Today Exercise Walked 4 miles at the zoo. I will update each section as necessary, although sometimes it may not be updated until the end of the day.
  5. Well, I was doing okay for the last few months. Then July hit and everything fell apart! A couple of days ago, my mom asked me, my sister, my sister-in-law, and my youngest brother's girlfriend if we wanted to do kind of a support group thing on Messenger about eating better during August. I figure that this is an excellent time for me to respawn! I'm going to start by just posting in a Battle Log here, and then I will likely sign up for the next 4-Week Challenge as well!
  6. Doing okay for the most part, but I'm still struggling with getting caught up from last week's vacation. I'm trying to catch up on housework and laundry, as well as finish putting in my summer hours at work.
  7. Argh! I have not been doing well this week! I really should have known better than to try and start a new challenge the week my friend was going to be visiting from Mississippi! It was an amazing week, but there was no working out, no so great food and beverage choices, and no writing. :-( However, I will start fresh! I can still make at least a B on all of my goals if I really work hard! If I get all B's, I will purchase two of my loot items. If I get all C's I will purchase one of my loot items.
  8. Sunday was a bust because I, once again, forgot that these challenges now start on Sunday instead of Monday! Day One (7/9) No workout. Ate a couple pieces of candy. Drank only 3 bottles of water. No writing was done. Day Two (7/10) Week 1, Day 1 of Zombies!5K No candy, donuts, or ice cream were eaten. Drank 4 bottles of water. Worked on Matroyshka.
  9. Okay. Last revamp! I removed the 0 Week goals. I have been struggling with them, and with juggling all the other things I have going on. Plus, I think my brain got thrown by the unexpected 2 weeks of down time instead of the usual 1 week. I added some additional goals. These are extra, so if I don't meet them, it's no big deal. However, I did give myself some loot for them to help motivate me to at least try and meet them!
  10. Between jury duty, relatives coming over, my middle child's 13th birthday, and the 4th of July, I definitely fell off the band wagon. So, I have changed my loot and the goals for 0 Week. I did this to motivate me to get back on track now instead of waiting for the official challenge to begin.

Qeng brightened, "Does that mean I can start running again?" Shaking his head, the healer smiled, "Yes and no. You need to build up a little more stamina when walking, and then you can start working on getting back into running again. It's going to be a long, slow process, but if you follow it you will get there eventually." Nodding, Qeng said, "I understand. Walking has been difficult. I'm sure running will be just as tough, if not more so. Still, I need to get back to it. Running is what I do. I'm a Scout. I need to run." Epic Quest Goal My epic quest goal is to be able to run a half marathon. Challenge Goal #1 Week 1-4: Zombies 5K app 3 days a week + 2 mile walk 3 days a week. 22-24 days = A 17-21 days = B 11-16 days = C 6-10 days = D 0-6 days = F 1 day completed Loot: If I earn an A for this goal, I get to buy Season 3 of Eureka. Challenge Goal #2 Weeks 1-4: I will drink at least 4 full bottles of water every day. 25-28 days = A 19-24 days = B 12-18 days = C 6-11 days = D 0-6 days = F 1 day completed Loot: If I earn an A for this goal, I get to buy a new mascara. Challenge Goal #3 I will not eat any candy, donuts, or ice cream. 25-28 days = A 19-24 days = B 12-18 days = C 6-11 days = D 0-6 days = F 1 day completed Loot: If I earn an A for this goal, I get to upgrade to the next GISHWHES tier. Life Challenge Goal I will work on finishing the 1st draft of Matroyshka every day. 25-28 days = A 19-24 days = B 12-18 days = C 6-11 days = D 0-6 days = F 1 day completed Loot: If I earn an A for this goal, I get to buy a new board game. Extra Goals 1) Research macros and keto. 2) Find an eating system/method that I think will work for me. 3) Start by tracking everything I eat via Instagram (and possibly a battle log here). 4) Do at least one yoga workout a week. 5) Try to strength train at least twice a week. Loot: For each goal I complete, I earn $10 to spend on make-up.

  14. In case your cramming didn't mention it...don't hand people money in shops/restaurants. They will usually have a little dish on the counter. You are supposed to put the money or card in the dish, and they will put any change or the card in the dish to return it to you.

  18. Day 25 Walked 2 miles. Ate no candy or donuts (despite the box of donuts that was sitting in the staff room in my section of offices)! Worked on editing my novel (I've finished the first 7 chapters so far). Drank 3 bottles of water.

  21. Good luck with the camping thing! My kids keep want me to go camping, but my idea of camping is a nice, luxurious RV and easy access to a big city! I'm trying to get more into the whole "normal" camping with nature and everything so I can make the kids happy!

  23. Humidity sucks! When I lived in the midwest, the humidity was one of the big reasons I didn't get outside more often.
  24. Yeah, someone needs to figure out a better method of weather forecasting!
