  1. Welcome! You have some good goals! I love your life goal! I should try and do something like that (although I suppose that requires making friends IRL!).
  2. Wow! I am impressed by your goals! I could never just stop eating chocolate (although I'm hoping my hypnotherapy will result in that)!
  3. Here's hoping the hiring freeze melts soon! You have some awesome goals! I look forward to seeing you around here!
  4. Welcome! Can I ask, how are you grading yourself for each goal? It can be helpful to include a grading scale, because it allows for the occasional human error (unlike a pass/fail mentality). Of course, you know what will work best for you, and no matter what you'll get a lot of support here!
  5. Great goals! College is such a bear! What are you studying?
  6. Oooh! I am so jealous! I would love to visit Japan! It sounds like you have a good handle on how you're going to modify your goals to fit with this trip. It's awesome that you aren't just skipping this challenge because of the trip!
  7. Great goals! Can't wait to see how you do on everything!
  8. Sounds like you have some great goals and really know what you want! I'm definitely going to check out your blog, too!
  9. Love your grading system! I also love your lung capacity goals!
  10. Great goals! I'm interested to see how well the Rosetta Stone system works for you! I want to try using it to learn Spanish, but my husband's worried about the cost!
  11. That's exactly why I'm focusing on running! I just finished my Master's in Educational Psychology and I have one more year before I get my EdS degree in School Psychology.
  12. Great goals, and great grading system you have set up!
  13. So, I'm slightly confused about when the challenge actually starts. The header thing says it starts on June 3rd, but it also says it starts in 1 day (which would be June 2nd). So, can someone tell me if the challenge starts on Sunday or Monday. Thanks!
  14. Nice goals! I like how you have a weekly goal which gives you a bit of slack for any off days!
  15. Nice goals! I'm jealous! Going to NYC sounds fun!
  16. Excellent goals! You've got some tough things there, but I love how you divided the possible points up to reward yourself even for the little successes!
  17. School psychology is pretty awesome, but there is definitely a fair bit of paperwork. I spend a lot of time working with teachers, coming up with interventions they can use for the kids that are struggling. I test kids a lot. I write reports about the tests. I spend time talking with parents and helping them to understand the whole process their kid is going through. It sucks when the laws mean having to tell parents there kid just barely doesn't qualify for special ed services. It rocks every time I get to help a kid (whether it's through special ed or just helping their teacher figure out a better way to help the kid)! Plus, you get to work with tons of students without having to deal with a lot of the day-to-day grind of teaching! /advertisement
  18. Yeah, I never did get that whole fitness test crap! Of course, I also loathed any type of gym class when I was in school! The app I'm currently using is called Ultimate Weight Loss Free. It's by Glenn Harrold. It focuses on enjoying exercise, avoiding unhealthy food, and only eating when you're hungry. The first time I used it I went to lunch at my relatives' house and ended up not eating anything (not even the cheesecake brownies) because I just wasn't hungry! There's a paid version as well that I might get at some point in the future. I was very skeptical at first, but it really worked for me. I just need to be more consistent and do a session every day! Thanks for the offer! I'm using Weebly, which is very user friendly for those people like me who really know nothing about site building. If I have any questions I will definitely ask you! There's a possibility my advisor might require me to move the site to the university servers, which would mean I would need a lot more help, so be warned!
  19. I am impressed by the computer science degree! I contemplated doing something with computers, but discovered I like playing on them more than working with them, so I ended up doing my undergrad in behavioural neuroscience! I get the impression that AI is vastly more interesting in movies/tv shows than it is in real life! I hope you figure out a career path you are passionate about! I recommend talking to profs at your school. I ended up having no clue what I was going to do after undergrad. One of my profs suggested school psychology and it turns out that I absolutely love it! I'd never even heard of it before and initially only started the program because it was short and didn't require a thesis or dissertation!
  20. Great goals! Definitely keep a water bottle with you at all times! It's much easier to stay hydrated if you always have something close by to sip at!
  21. May I ask, what are you studying in grad school? Is your lack of passion for your grad school studies in general or just your current research job? You have some awesome goals set up here, and I applaud your decision to actively search for your passions! Way to be proactive instead of moping around complaining about how you hate what you're doing! You already rock, and I know you can totally conquer this challenge! (I would say "I'll be watching you!" but I'm afraid that might come across as too creepy!)
  22. Thanks! I'm definitely going to check those out!
  23. Good luck! MissMormie made some great points/advice! You can totally rock this challenge!
  24. Lol! I love goals 2 & 3! Good luck conquering your goals!
