  1. Tahnks for the link! That was a very interesting article! My novel is coming along, slowly but surely. I would like to have it finished by the end of this month, but I'm thinking that is not going to happen. Well, I say done, but what I really mean is ready to be sent to a couple readers. Anyways, some days I work a bit more than the 10 minutes. However, I like the 10 minutes because even if I've had a very busy day I can always fit 10 minutes in. It may not be much, but I wrote the first draft a couple years ago. At this point, any work is progress, and doing 10 minutes every day is making me feel like I'm at least making consistent (if slow) progress! Day 24 Walked 2 miles (my calves were really tight today). Ate NO fast food. Drank 4 bottles of water. Worked on my novel for 10 minutes!
  2. Took the kids to the Science Center today. We also stopped off at a nearby park. My son loves this park! It has a huge rope climbing apparatus and two giant slides! My son loves anything that lets him climb/go up! Day 23 Completed Zombies!5K Week 4 Day 3 (halfway through the program)! Ate NO fast food (I packed a lunch to take with us)! Drank 4 bottles of water. Spent 10 minutes working on my novel.

  4. Well, I'm really doing a lot of editing and checking timeline consistency. I have the first draft of the novel finished. If I was just writing that initial draft, I'd be working on it a lot longer! Even so, I am hoping to set aside a day this week to work on my novel for at least a few hours. Day 21 Zombies!5K Week 4 Day 2 complete. Ate NO fast food. Drank 4 bottles of water. Worked on my novel for 10 minutes. I have discovered that I miscalculated. I cannot finish the Zombies!5K app during this challenge by doing one workout every other day. I am also not comfortable pushing in spots where I have three workouts in a row. I don't think that would be good for my body at this point. So, I can still earn the extra Stamina point mentioned in my initial post. However, I have to complete the app during the week after the challenge. That will help me stay consistent during the break and make sure I don't push myself so hard that I mess something up.
  5. I get the results in about a week and a half to two weeks. From something the day lady said, I don't think I would qualify as needing a CPAP. I'm not surprised. I already did a sleep study several years ago, but my new doctor is of the opinion that all other doctors are idiots and that the old sleep study must have been wrong! Day 20 Walked 2 miles. Ate NO fast food. Drank 4 bottles of water. Spent 10 minutes working on my novel!
  6. Thanks! A CPAP machine is basically a mask you wear over your nose that supposedly blows air into your nose to help keep the airway open while you sleep. Day 19 Completed Week 4 Day 1 of Zombies!5K Drank 4 bottles of water Ate NO fast food Spent over 10 minutes working on my novel

  8. Day 17 Zombies!5K Week 3 Day 3 completed! Drank 4 bottles of water! Ate NO fast food! Spent 10 minutes working on my novel! I am so psyched that I managed to complete all of my goals today! I had a sleep study last night, and then they wanted to do a nap study today. So, I was at the sleep clinic most of the day! I'm also glad because last night they tried to make me wear a CPAP machine and I had a mild panic attack (I hate things like that, they make me feel like I can't breathe)!
  9. Day 16 Walked 2 miles. Ate NO fast food. Drank 4 bottles of water. Worked on my novel for 10 minutes. I'm checked in for a sleep study. So far, it's been a horrific experience.

  11. Day 14 Waxing at home is not a good idea. That's what I learned today. Walked 2 miles. No fast food! Drank 4 bottles of water. Worked on my novel for 10 minutes.
  12. Day 13 Went garage saleing with my mom today and got a ton of clothes for the family! Also, when my mom asked what we should do about lunch, I had her swing back by my house and made sandwiches for everyone! Zombies!5K Week 3 Day 3 completed! NO fast food eaten! Drank 4 bottles of water! Spent 10 minutes working on my novel!
  13. Woohoo! Today was awesome! We managed to get our old car going and sold it for $600! We were also able to find a new windshield for the motorcycle that was less than half what we had been planning on having to spend and fit the mounting hardware we already had perfectly! Day 12 Walked 2 miles. Drank 4 bottles of water. NO fast food! Worked on my novel for 10 minutes.
  14. Ok! The final decision is that yesterday was a win in terms of the "no fast food" rule. Day 11 Week 2 Day 3 of Zombies!5K completed! 1/4 of the way through the program! Yay! Drank 4 bottles of water. Ate NO fast food! Worked on my novel for 10 minutes! (I'm starting to get a lovely colelction of post-its on my wall with editing notes!
  15. Day 9 Walked 2 miles. Drank 4 bottles of water. Worked on my novel for 10 minutes. Okay, I need your guys' opinions. I went out with my mom today. She had said we were going to take the kids to the park. Normally my mom makes lunch to bring with us. However, it turns out that she's been going through a nasty bout of vertigo. So, she had decided to just take us all to McDonald's instead. By the time I realized this and we got there I was ravenous, and I knew it was going to be at least 4 hours before we got home again. Now, normally I eat deep fried chicken nuggets and the largest french fry they have. This time, I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and the regular size french fries. Part of me wants to count this as a win for the day. I didn't intentionally choose to stop for fast food, and when I realized it was going to be unavoidable I consciously chose to eat a healthier option. However, I did eat fast food today. So, what do you guys think?
  16. Great quest! Keep pushing for answers/communication from the doc. Some docs are really great while others need that squeaking wheel to fully do their job!
  17. Wow! I love how you're sticking with this and seeing results (not matter how big or small they are) despite moving and feeling crummy! Keep it up!
  18. Lol! Thanks! It's actually a picture of Parker from the show Leverage. If you haven't seen it you totally should! Day 9 Week 2, Day 2 of the Zombies!5K app complete! I slowed done a bit at the end thanks to a pain in the arch of my foot. I figured, it was better to take it easy than to screw up my foot! After looking at the mission log, I did end up running 6 minutes if you count the 3 minutes before the free form run! So, yay me! Ate NO fast food (Chicken Teriyaki Skewers for dinner)! Drank 4 bottles of water. Spent 10 minutes on my novel! Thank you, everyone, for the support and comments! It's really been helping me be consistent with my goals!

  21. A bit more housecleaning was done today, but I honestly spent a good chunk of the day playing my Build-a-City challenge in The Sims 2. Day 8 Walked 2 miles. Drank 4 bottles of water. Ate NO fast food! Spent 10 minutes working on my novel!
  22. Today I got a ton of house cleaning done! I cleaned all three of the kids' bedrooms (a massive undertaking)! Tomorrow, I'm hoping the rest of the house will go a bit faster! Day 7 Weigh-In: 209 lbs (that's a 2 lb loss!) Week 2, Day 2 of Zombies!5K completed! Drank almost 6 bottles of water! NO fast food was eaten. For dinner, I made a Paleo Chicken Oriental Salad! Spent 10 minutes working on my novel! One week is done, and I am so psyched that I nailed it! Yay!
  23. Thanks! Day 6 Walked 2 miles Drank 4 bottles of water NO fast food (despite spending 6 hours grocery shopping this morning)! I even made a new paleo recipe (Carribean Jerk Chicken) that was a hit with my wife! Spent 10 mintues working on my novel!
  24. Day 5 Day 3 of Zombies!5K...Week One is complete! Drank 4 bottles of water. Ate no fast food. Worked on my novel for 10 minutes. Overall, an ok day.
  25. Day 4 Walked over 2 miles (around the zoo). Drank 4 bottles of water. Ate NO fast food. Worked on my novel for 10 minutes.
