  1. Hahaha those protein shakes taste like...uh not very good...Abstaining from milk is one of the worst parts about paleo I imagine. Have you tried any protein bars? They're probably a little more palletable and easier to carry around. Keep on rocking this challenge out, week one in the books!!!
  2. Totally love the goal #4, you may really be onto something there. Thats a great idea and I think you'd be awesome at mentoring other women. Having a trainer cert will only make it more legit. Way to go!!
  3. I'm super impressed with your cooking and meal prep! Thats not an easy thing to do. I wish they had someone call from the doctor's that had some knowledge, that kind of anxiety needs a person that can answer questions. I think they're around all things medical so often, that they don't understand us laypeople can panic easily when dealing with things involving health. That goes triple for any kind of test results, the waiting alone can be enough to break our routine. Whatever you do, don't go google crazy and try to root out an answer on your own, that never has good results. Way to go on the exercise, thats a totally legit workout in chores' clothing. No sugar too?! Thats a day of awesome if I've ever seen one. Keep on kicking ass Pookie!
  4. Did some rowing machine today, will feel tomorrow morning. Then it was off to the treadmill

  6. I hate it when my alarm goes back-ass-wards and doesn't go off. Well...I don't hate sleeping in, I just hate the jolting awake. Those are bad for Porkchops I've heard. Vegetarian hot dogs???*ears perk up* You must share this food porn with us. I would say good luck with your workout tonight, but I KNOW you're goona rock it and walk up and down that gym's arse. Show 'em you're the metal weavin' metal thrower Seriously though, those marrinated carrots sound like a Willy-Wonka type of treat and I'm curious to see how those turn out.
  7. Because what celebration would be complete without Kool and the Gang... Congrats on finishing up school LLW!!! Bask in the ambiance of your awesomeness!!! Looking forward to food, photography AND rants! GO YOU! PS Let me know if you need a guinnea pig/taste tester haha
  8. You starting a blog? Food blog? That would be groooovy! That sucks your teacher is leaving, its always weird to start up with someone else with the learning curve and all. You'll find another one and get back to it in no time though. I've made some home brews in my time and even though the last batch tasted like (insert any explative here), its a fun thing to try your hand at. HAHAHAHA NINJA RAP
  9. Greetings fellow northwesterner. I LOVE , everytime I go to there, I want to stay. I even went to a Trailblazers game this season. What you've done is a great testement to sticking with something you want to do and keeping at it. It kind of makes all the BS worth it if you can come through the other side better. I like the goals you put down, #4 will really help out alot if you're used to being up late. Wreck this challenge and I hope your back feels better. Good to see you back in!
  10. Heeeere's your thread, subbed! Awesome decision on taking on the metal game (how 'bout that...metal-weaver is throwin' metal). BCs got a good point about the DOMS, doing something physical will get everything moving again and help with soreness. Its a great feeling when you first start out and you'll get some surprises kinda quickly. I'll be rooting for ya
  11. Great going JAS! Having weather that doesn't make it feel like the 5th ring of hell is definatly helpful when running outdoors. Way to start off the challenge strong! I know all about the easter candy...I'm impressed with your will power and non-me-ness.
  12. Hey Pookie, your goals look great this time around. Just a little bit at a time is all we need to do. For your first goal, if the weather is getting nicer where you are, maybe something like walking to somewhere close to where you live can be the exercise for the day. It all adds up and doesn't need to take place in a gym. In my HUMBLE opinion, putting the scale away is probably the best thing you can do that is instant. Very wise life goal indeed. Scale weight can fluctuate so much and can be a source of anxiety for most people, it sounds like its better to just let it be. If you find a way to beat the weekend monster, let me know. Everyone has a different way of laying the smack down on him (assuming the weekend monster is a guy), we'll all find our way soon enough. As far as sugar goes, it is crazy hard to keep it up being that there is sugar in almost EVERYTHING. Planning around something like limited refined sugar can be a drag, make sure to allow yourself some food you like and sugar deprivation will be a little easier. Huge win dealing with the bad self harm. Score one for Pookie for sure! If you recognize that you're doing it anf you want to stop, then you're far ahead of alot of people that do that. Giving permission to Mr Pookie to tell you to stop doing what you're doing will help out alot too. Camping is AWESOME! I hope the weather cooperates and you both get some R&R Be good to yourself
  13. Barbell squats? Show 'em how its done, GO JAS! Mixing up the days you go to the gym in the beginning is good for you in the long run. If it becomes something you don't like doing, it makes it that much harder to stick with it. Juat do what you can at first and it'll figure itself out. Either that or your accountabuddies can always yell at you Way to start it off the right way
  14. Katscratch, I am living the dream as always . Never been to Sasquatch but this years looks kinda...AWESOME. The scenery alone is worth the trip. I wanted to go last year, but the girl I wanted to take really, really hated camping. You got to go volunteer? Jealous haha. Bumbershoot is the best! They could totally have it over in George. Hey have an awesome week, Kat. Don't do anything I would do!!
  15. Preparing meals in advance like goal #2 is the best way t stay ahead of the curve. Chicken curry? Yum. Keep up the awesome!
  16. Aweome theme on your goals list! Yes, that fast-food-fast sucks alot at first, but it gets alot easier after a bit. You can do this and we're in this one together, over and out...I think one of them just spotted me
  17. Woops. I didn't see the book choices you already had. I would reccomend 20,000 leagues for sure. I would totally read that one again, you'll love it. Jules Verne is the awesome!
  18. Good luck on your first 6 week gig LIR! You have the right idea to start slowly and work your way up. Those habbits will be more set when this challenge is over. Great to meet ya
  19. Time to be a badass indeed! I like your goals here, you have much more will power than I do. Good luck with getting into marine shape, thats a hefty task and you definatly have my respect. I think there are some ASVAB study guides out there that could make the prep work easier and less of a hassle. Thats a really good idea to mix up your training too. It sounds like doing that would keep the interest level up and prevent the routines from getting stale and boring. Book Vote... Well without knowing what books you're into, I vote that you read The Tipping Point by Malcom Gladwell or Wild by Cheryl Strayed. What kind of books are you into? I can recommend a few in the future for sure Drawing vote...I vote that you draw a self portrait or charicature of yourself (I think thats spelled right), those are always fun. If thats not your thing, then I would change my vote to drawing an animal of some kind. The first one that comes to mind. Good luck on your challenge!
  20. Three for today -Family and friends (both near and far) -Being able to get info/support from this site AND start a new challenge -The invention of the wheel
  21. Best. Scene. Ever. LMAO! I absoloutly HAVE to youtube that scene after this. Anyway, those are some good goals. Go crazy on #4, R&R is needed and makes us better when we return to whatever we were doing before. Good luck
  22. Awesome alien theme btw! Good job on picking out those goals, they look challenging but doable. Go forth and dominate, you got this!
  23. Awesome goals! I hope your sleep goal works out for you, those can really make the difference. I'm in the same boat when it comes to weather making walking suck sometimes. You're right that the weather will only get better and walking outside will be less of a pain. Good luck this challenge
  24. PacMan knows whats up. Hahaha Love the Army of Darkness reference in the goal list LMAO. You got the right idea for your goals this time around Kat. Do whatever makes you go to the gym and enjoy it, if you can do that then you're more than half way there.
  25. Great going with your goals this time around RG. As you know, growing veggies can be hit or miss. I'll do a rain dance (nah, I'll just say I did) and hope you all get plenty of veggies this summer. Also, pay no mind to the scale weight, that can fluctuate alot and its not a really good indicator sometimes. The fact that you can run 7 miles a week is freakin awesome! Keep fighting the good fight
