  1. Everything's mellowed out since my gaming spree. I've completed everything on my checklist for today :3 I'm on the right track again... though still a little behind o' course; anything that may come to knock me off track again will have to be something very out of the ordinary.
  2. Last week I thought things were going to straighten out more, but unfortuatenly I had my graphics card fixed and was able to play video games again... Things just fell apart. I kept up with stretching, but that was about it (aside from some of goal 4). I did play tennis on the weekend which kept me sore for a couple days, that felt good! I'm going to make a daily checklist now which will include things that I must complete before I'm allowed to even turn on my computer. It'll be kickin' if I ace this challenge with the remaining weeks!
  3. Hello and Welcome! Your last little paragraph had me laughing; my main reason for joining up was to tone up to look good in my costumes. I'm sure if I continue on my journey my motivation will turn towards something with a little more depth.
  4. Update #1 Everything's a bit disorganized, but I think it will straighten out by next week. I started the challenge on Tuesday, I did stretching and 1 set of the BW-workout, then some more stretching. I really didn't make a strong effort with the workout, so on Wednesday, after I went for my walk, I completed 3 full sets, then did stretching throughout the day. Today I'm working on my Russian before I go on my walk then do stretching. Stretching is fun and relaxing, I just have to make sure I don't get too confident and overstretch. When I went walking I had to slow down after 8 minutes because I started to feel fatigued. I've had a cold since Monday... but I think I'm just generally out of shape. During the full workout I began to feel sleepy, but I pushed through that. It was probably my laziness telling me that there were "funner" things we could be doing. I felt accomplished the rest of the day, so that teeny tiny fraction of the day I spent working out was incomparably worth it. This is something I'm doing along side of the challenge- I'm trying to get out of bed earlier. I usually get up in the afternoon, but the last couple of days I've been getting up a 10:30am; it's not as early as I'd like, but it's an improvement.
  5. Cosplay is one of the reasons I joined the Rebellion- so I can tone up! Near the end of Spring I'll be going to my first Con. I plan to go as a female version of Brick (from Borderlands). I'm supposed to be working on my outfit >_> but I've been lazy about it.
  6. If you go here http://nerdfitnessrebellion.com/index.php?/page/articles.html/_/challenges/real-life-roleplaying-making-your-nf-characte-r13 it will show you how to set up your stats for your starting lvl (Level 1) and how to choose your race. And here http://nerdfitnessrebellion.com/index.php?/page/articles.html/_/rebel-updates/real-life-roleplaying-attribute-points-and-th-r14 shows you how to gain more levels and add points to your goals! Things have a tendency to go over my head, so if this wasn't what you were talking about... just ignore~ But you should look into it anyway, because it's fun when people participate in leveling up (it's still optional though).
  7. I know how to read in Russian and I know a batch of words (that I learned from watching Russian movies) but I don't know enough to have a simple short conversation. I want to learn Russian in general, and doing it through songs keeps me entertained. I can't sing >///> but I might make a video of me talking it! Short and simple is best. In the beginning I always have so much energy that I tend to take on more than I can carry, and that just ends badly. I have to restrain myself when I'm making goals... small simple wins are better than one giant fail!
  8. Building computers is fun! You're not much older than me when I found this place, I was interested in parkour too, but I didn't do anything about it; nothing good came from that. It's great that you're going for it! Good luck!
  9. I'm 5'3, female, and last time I weighed myself I was 112. I don't weigh myself often, I don't even have a scale, but I'm willing to bet I put on a bit of "winter weight". I aim to tone up- be the better Me. I'm not much of an Assassin if I can't pull my weight! I'll most likely keep track of my progress through pictures, measurement, and acquired skills. My main goal for this challenge is to gain some stamina! It gets depleted too quickly for my liking. Overall though, my goals look like this: Goals: Beginner Body Weight Workout 3x a week. [+3 STA +2 STR] Walk at least 4x a week. [+5 STA] Full side-splits. [+3 DEX] Learn the lyrics to "Свобода". [+2 CHA]Details: 18 BW-workouts for the whole challenge. Scoring: [#/18] (Number of workouts divided by 18. A=90s% B=80s% C=70s% D=60% F=60>%) Go on a brisk walk for at least 30min. At least 24 walks throughout the challenge. Scoring: [#/24] Currently when I do the splits and have my palms on the floor I'm forearm's length away from the ground. I'll do scoring by dividing my forearm in 3 parts: Completely on the ground = A, 1section up = B, 2sections up = C, 3 sections up= D, and if I don't at least try stretching 3x a week I've failed. Learn the lyrics to the Russian song "Свобода" (from Bumer2 soundtrack). I've divided the song in 8 paragraphs so it will be scored [#/8]. I'll go from paragraph to paragraph, memorizing the lyrics, making a list of words, learn their English equivalent... pretty much analyze the song to help me learn Russian.I think that's it...
  10. I definitely prefer the mobility I get from a mouse and keyboard as opposed to other controllers. As for seeing a doctor, I haven't considered it; I'm one of those people that don't go to doctors, unless for serious injuries ^^; Though I had thought my tiredness might be from depression, and if working out doesn't help I'll start with talking to a friend. I'll be joining the six week challenge today. When I gain enough lvls, I'll want to start training in Parkour. As for other tricks, I want to do handstands, illusion twist... I'll probably try some capoeira since I know someone who wants to get into it. When I dress as a ninja, I want to be able to be like one! ... I have a feeling that I'll use all that to entertain little children :3
  11. Hi... >_> I've been lurking around here for several years; I wasn't interested in fitness per se, yet the blog was still entertaining and fun (sometimes I'd come here just to look at the colorful pictures). Also, it was interesting to see how people transformed themselves. Recently however, I have become interested in fitness itself. After having seen Jean-Claude Van Damme in Expendables 2, it reminded me of yearssss ago when I was very young I would try to mimic him, especially the splits. Realizing that now some 13 years later I *still* can't do full side-splits, it was depressing. Even if I had started training a year ago, I'd be able to do so much and not just limited to side-splits. Regardless of that, I'm tired of being tired throughout the day even with 12+ hours of sleep. One thing I don't want in my life is Regret, and I'm sure if I continue on like this I'm going to look back and feel regret for all the hours of life I've slept away... especially at such a young age. Sadly though, my main reason for wanting to get fit is rather superficial- I'm getting into Cosplay and want to look nice in my outfits. I suppose it's reason enough to get started, but hopefully during my journey my dedication will go from wanting to *look* nice to something more self-caring such as *being* healthy. All that aside, I'm a female Assassin- age 19, 5'3 around 120lbs. I eat relatively healthy, but I spend all day/week/month in my cave sitting on my lazy butt. I refer to myself more as a dweeb than a nerd. I enjoy playing video-games, mostly action based; I'm a PC gamer, my attempts at playing on other platforms are rather laughable. Action movies are my favorite! But I don't limit myself. I'm quite stubborn too, I usually have to find ways to trap myself into doing something. E.g., join the Rebellion to trap myself into training; out of regard for the people supporting me, I won't want to disappoint them! ... so I'd carry on. Can't wait for the end of the year when I can look back and say, "It was only a year ago when I couldn't do [insert long list of cool tricks]!"
