Saturday Scuba Diving.
  2. So, went camping for a week... not good, went swimming a lot. but unfortunately when your camping and all your fresh food goes off, palo doesn't work to well ( I see the irony that I was camping and living basically and still couldn't follow the palo diet), Plus total Fire bans make cooking hard. so I did gain a little bit of weight, As of sunday the 13th of January Weight 134.0 kg waist 125cm (this confuses me a bit but oh well) Height same. BMI 40 (crap) aww well, back to the workouts I go.

  4. Pard89 Cheers for the advice, I will endeavour to mix up the program more. As is the Exercises I wrote down are in the order I have written on my program, and I didn't always follow the order (Equipment being used by others and such), but I am able to keep good form better when I change it up a bit. once again thanks for the advice.

  6. As far as I know, Its funny laws, Bows aren't considered a weapon until a arrow is drawn and aimed at a person. (wouldn't walk up to a cop with one or wander around with it without a good reason. And thanks for the link to the other thread. I did search for another archery thread but couldn't find on, guess i didn't look hard enough.
  7. Yeah, I shot a few times before, but I did a course and made my own and then I started shooting A lot. The feeling of shooting your own bow that you made is just awesome. Also motivates you to get out and do it. And, Athena. In the ACT you can shoot in your backyard as long as you don't hit anyone... so thats were my range is. Only had one or two arrows fly over the back fence, but they were retrieved without anyone noticing.
  8. Hey all. Just wondered if anyone out there in the rebellion participate or practice archery? Personally I shoot Traditional Bows as well as Building them.
  9. Are you Doing this for self defence or as a sport? I ask because the approaches to them vary greatly. For instance I know several people that have extensive training in a Sport Martial Arts, But I would not want them in a bar fight (They fight, to cleanly and if their put out of their comfort zone, they get stuffed). Similarly I have a Friend that is trained in Military Close combat and hand to hand combat, but I would not want to bet on him in a Sport fight (he fights to win, and will use any method to do it, and last time I check, there were no professional sports that allowed Glassing of the opponent). If your talking self defence, especially for something like people taking drinking shots at you in clubs or people picking fights on the street. Try this: The way I trained was with a friend, neither of us had any real training at the time. We would go into that backyard and basically attack each other and see what worked as a defence and offence. Seems to have worked out well enough. And he's now in the army and he's teaching me some of the hand to hand his learnt there. Saying that though, both of you must have a good measure of control. make sure that you both understand that its training and when someone says stop, Immediately Stop and disengage. Also, there will be bloody lips, brused bodies and sore joints.
  10. Hi, My Names Alec. I'm a Nineteen year old Australian living in Canberra. First some statistics about me Weight: 134.4 Kg. (around 300lbs) Height: 1.83m. Gut: 127cm Fitness Level:... Well yeah. So, heres the deal. I'm an active person, Walk a lot, go for runs (not to excessive amounts but I can walk to the local shopping centre or Mall which is a 14km round trip with ease, though don't ask me to run there.) . But having said that I also eat a lot of crap and have fairly bad sleeping pattens. Now three years ago, if someone had ask me why I was overweight I would have said "ow, its my genetics, I have a lot of body fat and all that but I'm actually quite fit". I was deluding myself. Both my parents (who I am living with) went on a strict diet at the end of my eleventh grade, My father lost nearly 50kg in 6 month and is back to the weight he was when he joined the army in 1982. I also started to notice that I had lost some weight. Now I was adamant on joining the army at this point, so I hit the gym with a friend from high school and started to work out. Now we both ran into a problem with the gym. We would be doing exercises and someone would come-up and say we were doing them wrong, and without finding out our training goals they would lecture us on the correct method. With us not knowing any better, we would change our routine and continue. The same thing would then happen again. Someone would tell us we were doing it wrong. It got very confusing and at times a little dangerous ( while sparing with my Friend a Bloke came in and told use we were doing it wrong and offered to show us how to do it. My friend ended up with a bruised shin and I got a bloody lip, because this Guy thought we were actually making contact) Anyway. I Failed the Army medical test and was told to go away and lose weight. I was faced with a choose. Hit the Gym hard for 9 months or so and try to get into the Army again next year or go to Uni. I chose Uni, figuring I would have 4 or so years to figure out where I wanted to go and get plenty fit. So thats up to now. sadly, due to me slipping back into bad eating habits I have gotten back to the weight before my 2nd hand dieting. I tried several other programs but found they didn't work for me ( I seem to be unable to count calories) so I'm going for the Palio Diet, follows my beliefs when it comes to food. But on a positive note, Thanks to reading nearly every article on nerd fitness and some other parts of programs I've done before, I have created a exercise program for myself that I really enjoy and works for me. I have also had time to think about where I want to go in Life. Still want to join the Army, but I'm in no rush to do it. I'm planing to enjoy the last two and a bit years I have in Uni. So its time to get Fit, Clean up my Diet and sleep properly when possible. Incidentally I actually started my Program today and my friend got back from infantry training recently and is training with me, so I really don't have any excuse to stop, because he's learnt how to yell like a Army Fitness instructor. Final goals by the end of 2014. Weight: Between 93kg and 100kg. Able to Run 5km/3miles in under 22min Complete the Army Basic Fitness test ( this has recently been changed so not sure what it will be by then) Complete Salmon ladder (Stephen Amell in arrow, the pull-up ladder thing) So in closing, this is where I'm up to. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and with all you rebels and listening to your ones. Cheers Alec
